  • Some of those houses were mansions. They were mansions until the diversity destroyed the neighborhoods. Now they are in shambles.

  • I know what'll clean these houses right up. A gallon of gas and a book of matches. There problem solved :)

  • Have HUD house come and build a new one and be done

  • Why the hell does anyone care? Its an eye sore yes, but really does an ugly house need to take your precious time up? There is more important things than just pointing out minor flaws. It's a decaying house big deal why is it so important to waste time on it?

  • The house that's seen at 1:04 looks like one of those prefab houses that Sear-Roebuck sold in the teens and 1920's by catalogue.

  • @briquetaverne That makes sense. Since it is standing in pieces like that!

  • you're all a bunch of lazy bureaucrats. Have a big bonfire party for the whole neighborhood!!

  • it's so sad that these houses are left unloved and with no families in, when there is so many people with out homes, So very sad !!!

  • @moonwitch1981

A home left unloved, that will never again shelter a happy family, that once must have been someone's piece of the American Dream, is indeed, a sad thing.

I guess I can understand it. Old industrial cities, with industry gone. No one needs them any more.

But, like seeing an old ship going to the scrap yard, it's still a sad sight.

  • WTF? He honestly thinks he could have rehabbed that with no money? Tear it down, bill him the cost.

  • what vandalism? I don't see none

  • Comment removed

  • it only costs 1 cent to remove a house one match and let it burn

  • stuff that ,i would wait to like 4am , sneak in round the back and burn those houses down , do one every thew months

  • Wtf why arn't they just destrying those abandonned homes? They're just waisting space & still getting no money since no one lives in them.

  • ACORN BCORN UNICORN CORN KORN

  • I would sneak in at night and torch the house myself.

  • I love how some fat bureaucrat is telling a full grown man of american citizenship he cant take down his own property without a lisc. goes to show how this administration has gone.

  • I ran out of glue so i used tape instead:)

  • Do you think it's dangerous....... Duh

  • chocolate? not black?I personnally dont care if its politically correct or not. If your skin color is black, then your black. Get over it, quit making something so simple complex

  • Use a match to clean it up.

  • they should just wait for the damn house to fall down, it won't take too long. Why demolish it lol

  • accidentally hit the like button... o.O

  • if u listen to this with headphones u get some creepy feedback. its weird

  • what a shame, you can't get homes like that anymore. they're worth the renovation. sheesh.

  • throw a few rocks at em that will take care of it

  • Make Fred Phelps live there.

  • Detroit??

  • Gimmie a couple hundred rolls of duct tape and i'll maker look new, lol

  • AnnielWhite,thats a nice name :)

  • matter of fact they should just tear topeka down too while they are at it.

  • you could just hit it with a hammer and it will just fall down

  • If these buildings have become unsturdy, then the city should have the authority to demand the buildings be torn down at the owners expense. These buildings can be real eye sores, as well as attractive to kids to explore, and adults, even if it does say 'KEEP OUT". If one enters an abandoned building, ur doing so at ur own risk.

  • im sick of cities and theyr requiring, codes, regulations, permits, fees, fines, and other random ordering and demanding..fuck oppressive governments both little and large

  • these newspeople look like cartoon dorks

  • I think if the city wants someone to do something their way then THEY should pay for it! If the owner wants to do the demolition, he should be able to do it himself. enough of this licensed contractor bullshit and permit bullshit. it's just another way for them to make money on us.

  • Other than a holiday shack - no British person would ever buy a house made of wood - darn did they never hear the three little piggies story!!! We build in stone and yep, some dodgy builders have built shit in stone - but for the most part - our houses are built to last - stone may be temporary - but will last for years and years - wood - of course it ain't going to last.... Bet the White House ain't built out of wood.... I would never ever buy a house made of wood.

  • Comment removed

  • where did they go??? O-o think about it

  • It's HOT in to-pee-kah...

  • fire

  • DONT TEAR THEM DOWN THE ARE ART FIX THEM UP THEY WILL LAST LONGER THAN ANYTHING WE BUILD TODAY

  • Ever heard of a gallon of gas and a match

  • ACORN-hole hah

  • If it was my house and they were on my back I would go down to the courthouse and deed the property to the city code inspector. These cities and acornhead need to stay in their place, if almost anyone can legally build and sell an airplane I think that same person is surely capable of doing a demolition. THey just want money!

  • i would love to go over there and put some wild flowers in lol

  • I'd buy one if I lived in America. Abandoned houses are amasing

  • @Christen180 TRANSIENTS LIVE IN ABANDONED HOUSES

  • @Christen180 I spelt amazing wrong. sorry. Once the house had been done up it would look lovely.

  • Houses 666

  • why not sell them to the cities .. take them off the grid.. and let homeless and volunteers rehab the places for low income afford ability.. or turn into shelters.. for families and individuals in transition.

  • 0:43 im sure ive seen that house on another ghost story on youtube

  • why do people care? its an eyesore? its not around a school or anything no kiddies are going to get hurt, if the druggies want to take a chance and use the house let them

  • we tear down houses like that as well as large buildings like schools and prisons.

we load up our pickups with all the copper wire and use the money to buy lots of whores

  • lmao!

  • wow get a life... "it's a eyesore"

    lmfao..

  • ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh acorn!

  • Kansas has been a tenative to the fall of humanity for hundreds of years. This doesn't surprise me at all.

  • Hahaha, he's such a typical slumlord flipper - "I ain't got no money, so disappointed, I could tear it down myself, blah, blah." I've never seen a flipper tear down his own house; I nearly shit seeing a flipper cut down his own tree!

  • lol.

At the very beginning of the video the male anchor looks like he just shit himself.

  • 2:13 dude that's u

  • ill burn it fer a big mac....

  • i love the house at :39

  • I think the fat guy means "YESTERDAY WOULD HAVE BEEN TOO LATE"..... NOT, AS HE SAYS "YESTERDAY WOULD HAVE BEEN TOO SOON. Think about it, Kansas, think about it. Think about what he is saying. I am right, he is wrong. What a dolt. It takes an unemployed trucker from Iowa to correct what should't have ever been aired to beging with. -john in Davenport

  • He said "yesterday *wouldn't* be too soon." Calm down John, and leave off the insults, too.

  • pay some stuppid kid to set fire to it

  • LOL they are all haunted

  • topeka lol

  • Fuck ACORN

  • I agree

  • i agree too , the last people to need help in this time of need are black people, they have pretty much gotten everything they have spoken about deserving for years. Help the real needy sheesh.

  • i agree 100%

Those houses can be remade into better homes for needy people and they are saying to tear them down so they can just feel happy that they got what they wanted again. it makes me sad in a way.

  • I agree 102%!!!!!!!

  • Wow! Some houses just sitting abondoned for 25 years! That's nuts! We really do need to get the economy rolling and start attracting customers to these sites. They are fixer-uppers but once those houses are nice again one can make a iddy profit from them!

I see a lot of potential for some really creative projects but like most things, it takes money and vision!

  • Oh shit its in Topeka!

  • it totally reverse now , there ain't enough hoses to go around and with the economy as it is , it really harder to find any house now on the market , abandoned or not

  • lol mike jackson

  • some people are just crybabies

  • mtv cribss

  • Someone buys the home and then gets hauled into court! Wait, the home was a danger and eyesore for years, why didn't the force the sale on the old owner and tear it down, rather than wait for a new owner to do it? City should be more willing to work with the new owner. The owner should sue the city for waiting to blitz him with the costs. Poor government.

  • squat

  • co to ma byt za skurvenou pokurvenou picovinu? kdo mi to vysvetli?

  • co to ma byt za skurvenou picovinu? muzemete mi to nekdo vysvetlit?

  • i was thinking this is a vid on houses lol not your race. lol people are so petty that they cant look at the person for what is inside them. i for 1 dont see skin color. if you are stupid , ur stupid i dont care what color you are . acorn is a stupid group . people should be aloud to tear down their homes . they should not have to have to have any specail permit or whatever.

  • calling somone black is not racist. but calling them black in a way of harming them is.

  • It's Monster House, run!

  • why is ACORN all black people?

  • what a racist and uninformed comment. Not a single person in the brief history of Acorn in Topeka was Africa-American. Every single person was white, as was the executive director from Kansas City. Fact is there are people of all races in the organization.

  • why is saying someone is black racist. ?? all the people in the group i saw in this video were black.

lol not racist just asking. get over it. weirdo

  • why would you assume everyone was black anyway? from a still photo, displayed in the video? then forget all the white people (not one black person) interviewed in the news story? Sounds a little racist to me.

  • @ThriftyPrince are u black? get over urself, nobody is saying anything racist...

  • @annielwhite saying black is racist did not you knew??

  • why even ask that question?

  • hating a race is racist, not saying the words :black people:... retard.

  • and you are hateful....you criticized an entire group, because you perceived them to be all black. What does it matter, if they are all black? Only a racist person would have asked the question you did.

  • hahahahahahaha :obamatimes: im sorry i am not. you are being insecure. it was a question. hahahahahah what has this country come to that you cant say "black people" or white people or mexican people without someone being stupid... all i can say is that no im not racist, not i dont have black people, i thought it might have been a black group, i didnt know. kinda like the NAACP?? you are out of your mind.

  • so what if it was? your question, was one that indicated you had a problem with an "all black group." So again why even ask the question?

  • and i meant to say i dont hate anyone. sorry for the typo

  • lol

  • i can ask a question. its allowed. the way you intrepret the question my actually be the problem, not my question itself. I meant nothing racist by it, i added no racist comments to it. it was a simple question and i cant believe you and "OBAMATIMES" over there looked that far into it. thats a very serious problem with insecurity. Im sorry you feel that way, but its not in any way what i meant to say.

  • @ThriftyPrince it's necessary.

  • @annielwhite dose it matter?

  • @annielwhite cause Topeka is hood

  • @annielwhite i saw one white girl

  • @XxEeveeNaturexX Yeah but she is the token. like that white guy on the basketball court.

  • @dirtybutter true i wonder why he even asked such a mean question

  • @annielwhite why would u ask that?

  • become a licensed contractor and then you can tear it down yerself

  • don't need to be licensed to tear down your own property..just need the permits.

  • thriftyprince, does this applay to any county or state?

  • sorry, I mean apply

  • of course, once the city has ordered demolition then it is way past the owner doing it themselves.

  • I wonder how one would go about getting a permit to do this?

  • there may be other areas of the country that is stricter, but in general it is true everywhere.

  • it's called da projects stupid rich news people

  • lmfao

  • It would be funny to see some old guy say something like "That's the old Johnson place, it's been sealed up for over 30 years since the mass murders inside. Some say the house is haunted but I say it's cursed"... then they add some lightning in the background :) LOL

  • And in 2008 there are tons of such houses all accross America.

  • Ya the house is in bad shape, but should the owner of it be forced to pay to get it torn down? It's his property he has some rights on what he does with the house.

  • why would you fix that? why not just rip it down and build a new one?

  • how could the guy NOT know? He works for the city, lol. Yuh, he knows because is plump butt is on TV.

  • If there was more murders than more houses would be empty and less people means more nice haunted houses! The worlds going to shit because of human beings everywhere....

  • they're nuts lol acorns lol but seriously

  • Why is this so hilarious? Is it just me?

  • who said anything about it being hilarious? Sometimes videos here are for news and information. In fact most of the videos I have are in that category.

  • It's just really funny how dramatic they get about that. Don't they have any other news to report? They make it sound like the houses are stalking and attacking helpless people on the street.

  • but the houses are a problem. They need to be fixed, or torn down. If something isn't done then curious or vagrants (which is another problem) could get hurt.

I am interviewed in one of the video's so you can hear my thoughts. But, I bought a house that kids had broke into and trashed. I paid $10,000 cash and paid over $30,000 to fix it up. There are still improvements I wish to make, in time. In the meantime, it is not to much to ask that the neighbors keep their homes fixed up.

  • Haha "Id love to go over there and put some flowers in."

  • what accent does the lady in the beginning have

  • hey what's the problem with these people the abandoned houses add character lol

    shithead news reporters

  • it is their right, when the government controls more than the people and starts making laws to protect us because"the govt apparently knows whats best for us more than we do" thats also the same thinking they use for pot prohibition.

whatever happened to a truly free country, this is still the best country around but im saying the country could be better by eliminating liberal politics

  • it's not liberal politics, it's conservatives who hate pot jesus get your record straight

  • without old houses there would be no stories of haunted houses or more importantly there may not even be a haunted mansion ride at six flags. building codes and inspectors and politics suck. its a free country and you should be allowed to own any kind of house or anything else you wanna own without it being the govts business

  • really, so if you or your kids got hurt because an abandoned house was around and you (their) curiosity got the best of them, you wouldn't complain. In your words they have the right to own houses that are in such disrepair that they are dangerous. That also means you can't sue, because in your own words it's their damn right.

  • Those damn abandoned houses! They're killing children like their going out of style. HOUSES FRRRROOOOM HELLLLL!

  • old houses are the coolest things in the world, one thing i hate is all these stuffy buttholes deciding what looks good and what looks bad and , god i just really hat that. its like taking a giant eraser and rubbing it all over history

  • I SO agree, EggFoo!

Caution signs and good parenting are needed, that's all. Crossing the street is dangerous too, and eff knows what all else we do.

  • They aren't eye sores they are interesting as fucking hell. I'd be exploring them constantly, they should restore those beautiful houses!

  • LeDiskoLove99 -

do you have the funds to put 2 to 3 times what you would ever be able to get out of one of these houses? You would be crazy to go inside, illegally, and risk falling through the floor or having parts of the house fall on you.

  • No and I know it's really hard to restore those houses I just find it sad.

And some houses are at least half way safe to explore, that one falling apart isn't.

  • did you see the video where they revisited many of these houses after year? some had been fixed up, some were worse. The one with the falling porch, was sold at auction, porch took off, and a new one added and has been fixed up.

Video is Houses from hell: 1 year later.

  • They shouldn't buldoze these houses they should restore they!

  • what the fuck that was the stupidest comment i've ever scene shut up

  • do you have the funds to put 2 to 3 times what you would ever be able to get out of one of these houses, just so you can restore something that was let go to such deplorable condition?

  • It s a shame, some of those houses are very nice.

  • Hey it's not our fault that we have very old houses!!!

  • having old houses is one thing, but to the extent they are in the video's is rediculas. People need to keep up their houses. Letting them go to the extent they are, is just plain laziness.

Aside, from certain circumstances of elderly or handicaped with no money or anyone to do the work for them. Thankfully in those cases there are community groups that love pitching in to help.

  • houses from hell lol
