"Ranger School" is only leadership course. Yes, as an infantry officer you are required to attend ranger school. Upon graduating from IOBC you will have a recovery period and a Physical Training period to attempt to prepare for ranger school. And yes, you are right about the difference between the RANGER tab and a RANGER BN. Graduating RANGER school means you are RANGER qualified, but not a ranger. And since he is in ROTC he will be a commissioned officer and will not attend RIP, RIP is for enlisted.

dude, once you go through BOLC II, then IOBC, and Airborne (if you havent' done that already), you'll be well prepared. Don't even worry about it. Only thing I suggest is working towards a 300 PT score before you commission. And practice rucking alot. At least once a week.
