Speed and curl of the shot was unsavable at the position and posture of the GK. It could've been saved if GK didn't move to his left at first.

But I don't blame him. Beckham's famous for his free kicks and GK would've thought Beck would go for the top left.

Even if the GK DID try to save, he'd only just get a tap or hand on it, but not enough to keep it out.

Im sorry, but i dont get it. that is not a difficult shot to stop. being a goalie myself, it seems that it wouldnt have been difficult to reach. u can see that the ball was curving to the right of the goalie so there was no reason for uncertainty to wat direction the ball would travel. also the ball wasnt directily in the top corner, id reckon about one foot bellow the bar, meaning less of a stretch for the keeper. sry, i just think that this shot could be saved, no doubt.

i remember that game, it was a great freekick but it HAD to have been coming, he had GOD KNOWS how many chances with freekicks before that one, must have been in double figures. And finally got one in. He was remembered like a legend for this one goal when I think maybe 3 out of 5 people could have got atleast one in from as many as he got this game.
