i've had this same vacuum for about 4 years and love it, and the fact that the majority of the parts are plastics makes replacing anything inexspensive.
I have this model, works great but after about 6 months of using it, it seems like the clutch is going bad, its making a low ratcheting noise near where the clutch when the brush bar is engaged. Its been maintained well, and I don't abuse it. Dyson told me they won't cover it under their so called warranty. Great vacuum but built like a toy from China, won't buy another one.
Good dyson dc14 are sh*t

@dondawg00 buy a dyson with a roller brush like the Dyson ball. You won't be dissapointed
