I love this song and this performance! Unlike most bands, these guys embrace the fact that they need each other to make them great even though their solo stuff is worth checking out as well. I don't think they'll ever stop making great music.
I just loved Church back in the 70s but now I can sleep to their music, really. I liked the more rock influenced music like reptile and tantalized but they still can make some magic sometimes, but thats not so usual anymore.
It was my first time seeing "The Church" in concert. I was impressed with their timing and odd lyrics that night. It reminded me of a small group call U2 back in 1980 in a small theater. Since last june 2009 I have become a fan of "The Church" looking forward to more unique lyrics.
Marty on the Rick(Bass), Pete on the 12str mesh just as great as they do when both are on guitar. I wish I could have seen them live. Steve & Marty's The vocals are fantastic. Tim(ebandit) is always rock solid on the kit. I really like the addition of the keyboard player. Who is he?
Midsummer's night, out at the end of the dock. I pressed play on the discman to start the new Church LP. I'd mistakenly left the player keyed to "shuffle" and this one came on first. It was dark and I had no idea of the mistake I'd made, but I very clearly remember thinking, "My god, they've done it again. They can still knock 'em outta the park." Great song; it hasn't left my head since.
Thankyou so much for uploading this. It means a lot to those of us in Europe (where The Church aren't touring) to see the new songs performed live. And thankyou for making it be two of the gorgeous new tracks rather than yet another Milky Way.
Absolute class. A real band effort, Is it me?
or does Kilby morph into Bowie at 4mins? Koppes solo and Kilbys delight at the end of it. Criminal that this band are not massive!

It's really Pink Floyd like in a certain way, I think. But no problem about that, I like this song.

tongbei1 -- the keyboard player is Craig Wilson. He's in a band named Astreetlightsong.

Koppes' solo is stunning! The Church improve with age.

Operetta is a triumph. And Untitled #23 is a triumph. The Church: still blowing us all away in 2009.

Yes, this song has something philosophical I always meditate when listen to it.
I think it's one of their deepest lyrics.
( interesting to see Kilbey without the bass, he seems to be born with it )
