I have heard alot of sheep farms are everywhere in the highlands. So does that mean the beauty of the highlands and being able to explore ruins, etc is all closed off for some farmer and his sheep on private property? Getting to explore highlands and ruins is undoable because some sheep gotta graze?
I am not sure about everywhere in Scotland. This was my first time there. I walked pretty much on all the places I went. I was at the Quiraing, the ruins at Duntulum, and some small places. So true, there are sheep everywhere. I did not wear my best shoes. No one told me I couldn't go where I was walking, but I do not know about other places.
I'm proud to be a Macleod :)

Well the castle isnt a ruin, the chief of the MacLeods still lives there. I would like to visit this place someday considering I am a McLeod...

@Blooreign I wish I had more time to see the surrounding gardens that are all around the castle. Next trip over I will :)
