This game has been rereleased by Good Old Games, they have allegedly made it compatible with modern PCs. To be honest, I dont think they did a good enough job of the conversion as it doesnt install without major hassle on Win 7 64 bit.

Check the wikipedia out, it explains the dismal sales. I absolutely loved this game and would buy it in an instant if they remade it.

@Enski94 It's called Interstate '76 Theme, actually. The soundtrack was done by California group "Bullmark" consisting of members from Third Eye Blind, Santana, and Primus. Recorded on real vintage equipment with real vintage recording techniques.

I agree with all the positive comments posted. Activision put more creative effort into this one minute intro than most full length games. They captured the feel of the old 70s cop shows and movies perfectly. I wouldn't be surprised if this may have been part of the influence behind the Beastie Boys "Sabotage!" video, another great nod to the cop shows of the 70s.

This was an absolute stroke on genius on the part of Activision. This game got rave reviews in the PC community, but console folks only remember Vigilante 8.

This game was so cinematic, and so funky, and so stylistic! ^_^

"Bullmark" was a session group that Arion Salazar(bassist for Third Eye Blind) played and composed in. "Never get out of the car" was his pastiche-tribute to The Brothers Johnson's song "Get the Funk outta my face".
