  • How do you get the word art onto the cover?

  • cool concept thoough.. better than the shadows sitting out to be ruined if there's no palette.

  • @robinak thank you

  • @ssnook13 thank you and you're welcome

  • also... can you put a cd with music in it?

  • what kind of paper to use? A photographic paper?

  • @codedbox i used regular paper but photo paper would be more sturdy

  • @angeec03 yeah, it's all about the sturdyiness! XD

  • you can probably hot glue it also... :]]

  • where do you buy ben nye makup at?

  • I love this. Definitely gonna favorite and save this idea for a rainy day!

  • suchhh a good idea!!! love it!

  • Fantastic idea!!!!

Now that I've started to press my own pigments I can save a ton of money, I don't have to buy those expensive palettes.

    You're a doll :)

  • Thank you so much!

  • i've never seen this done before. it's ingenious. great job!

  • Thank you so much. I actually got the "cd palette" idea from Enkore. But I wanted to add my own little flare to it .. so i put the animal print designs in it :)

  • How creative! I'm a teacher, sooo my mental wheels are turning to develop ways to incorporate it in my classroom. Thanks for the tutorial! What types of magnetic lining? Where do you get magnetic liners?

  • You're welcome! You can purchase magnetic sheets at the dollar tree or michaels. Then you will need the circular shaped magnets, sold at michaels or ebay, to put behind the shadows so they magnetize with the sheets to stay in place.

  • OMG! Girl thankyou! You have jus saved me lots of money I'm goin this route instead of buying empty palettes! ~MUAH~

  • You are so welcome! Have fun designing and making your makeup palettes :)

  • This is going to save me sooooo much money thank u sooooo much

  • just a tip: you might consider using Invisible Double Stick (Double-Sided) tape? that way you dont have to roll the tape over onto its self.... hope this helps. Your idea/tutorial is really cool!

  • Do it!! Let me know how it goes :)

  • you know since you're a partner, your vids can go beyond 10 mins? anywho, this is so creative! i love it. i dont have any shadows like this, so i think i'm going to use this for my bootleg cds when i download from limewire. it's so cute!

  • Yes I do know my videos can go beyond 10 minutes. This video was made last year when we weren't allowed to go that much over 10 minutes. That is a good idea ... bootleg cds.

  • i love the cd's there soooooooooo kwl

  • thank u

  • awesome vid

  • thanks

  • you r soooo creative !

  • also i am sure that if you travel instead of tape, you could try hot gluing the pan to the paper, Or super glue.

  • Wouldn't glue or super glue seep through the paper? That was my main concern .. so I never tried it.

  • Super glue would definetly not. hot glue however might raise the pan a little higher. you probably need to even out the hot glue before sticking the pan on.

  • i have to say i saw the cd pallet and i was like ''where she get that,i want one,its cute.'' i relly like it.i have to try it out. i be giving my cd cases a good uses since i throw them out all the time. so thank you

  • haha .. you're welcome

  • would like super glue or hot glue be better to sick to it then tape? just so that it doesnt fall out

  • I thought about doing that .. but I figured the glue would seep through the paper .. making it wet

  • Hey, what an awesome idea! Do u know how many nyx powder blush and mosaic powders can this fit? They are slightly bigger right? I'm just guessing cos don't have any to compare with.. Thanks. =)

  • I'm not sure .. i never tried depotting my blushes. I would imagine 4 could probably fit in there .. ???

  • what are some of the tabs you typed into google? because I keep getting crappy pictures to use D:

  • I typed in leopard print backgrounds .. zebra print backgrounds

  • looove it.......so creative

  • Thank you

  • wow! thank you for this great video!

  • You are soo welcome! I'm glad u liked it :)

  • what program did you use to write the TEXT ontop of your patterned backgrounds?

  • I used a Dell Paint Shop program

  • kool.......how well do the eyeshadows stick with the tape..thanks

  • They stick fine for me. But if you're going to be traveling with them and using them for work i would suggest using a magnetic sheet and magnets behind each eyeshadow

  • this is sooo creative. i got a make up kit from ulta a few days ago. it has 56 e/s in it and i was wondering how i was gonna store it all.....now i know. i WILL be tryin this soon. maybe tomorrow since im off! thanks again..........this is SOOO creative!

  • hi how did you get the shadow out of the origanal pallete

  • Check out my "Depotting NYX Trios" video to see how the NYX shadows were taken out. The Ben Nye Shadows were refills so they weren't in any casings.

  • Does the cd case stay closed when you are done since you did take out the inside cover? Or does it flap open? I think Ima have to jack your idea because then I can buy a cd holder and my kids will never know =] Great idea.

  • Yes the cd case does stay closed. Yup the kids never mess with my cd cases :)

  • haha . have fun with it!!!

  • Super cute idea, these are the best cd palettes I have seen on utube thus far. Love how neat they look! Great job n vid! :P If someone has a scrapbk paper trimmer it would be perfect, for those who don't have steady hands or want a perfectly straight line. Another suggestion, you might want to use modpodge, it's glue used to decopauge. That way the paper is secure and it's clear so that your awesome paper shows. LOVE how cute n girly u made it, thanx so much for sharing!! :o)~

  • Thank you. THESE ARE GREAT TIPS EVERYONE!!!! Thank you for the great suggestions :)
