  • uh whhhhat? This is as bad as when Demi Moore was in The Scarlet Letter and they had Dimsdale come at the end with an Indian raid to save Hester....

  • maybe it's because I've seen Rafe Spall in other films, but it's hard to find his portrayal as creepy, lol

  • Arruinaron el final! No se parece en nada al libro!! Muy fea esta version! -.-'

  • NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • so lucy ends up with the chauffeur..typical

  • thanks for posting. I liked it but its not a patch on the previous version. And really the ending really comes out of no where.

  • wtf with the end :/

  • bloody awful

  • I really loved this adaptation - I think Elaine Cassidy gives Lucy a lot of depth, Rafe Spall is very sexy and all the other actors are great in their roles - Mr Beebe, for instance, is perfect! Music is so atmospheric (that includes all the pieces Lucy plays on the piano - I loved that they included her playing different things at her heart´s content - it´s an important part of her personality). Thanks very, very much for sharing the series - I´ll probably re-watch it before long! ;-))

  • I am in love with the book and the old version of this and was really excited when I found there was a 2007 version, especially when I found out who was playing Lucy. But urgh this was so dreadful. The setting was dull, the music wrong and George was just plain creepy. The ending was completely idiotic, and fell miles short of being poignant. None of the jokes were funny, Lucy was far to intense instead of just naive. I could go on for hours. Do not remake a classic that has achieved perfection!

  • Lol, I've recently read the book, and thought maybe my e-book was missing last pages that I missed dying part. I'll check 1985 version one. Hate sad endings.

  • The acting in this is terrible and doesn't portray the characters from the novel at all, as well as a horrible ending that serves no good for the rest of this shit adaptation.

    NOT IMPRESSED

  • ugh...horrible!! Should not have happened this way at all :S

  • I have suffered through this trying to be objective. It has its moments but even Mr. Fox who I think a splendid actor seems all wrong and quite wooden. Only now I am consoled by the other comments I read to know I am not alone. I did watch the original some days ago just for relief and to ascertain whether I was still sane. The original is a work of Art from beginning to end with some of England's finest actors of the time. The photography was appalling. Basta! Grateful for the Posting.

  • This is an awful adaptation. The music is wrong, the writing is wrong, the ending is wrong. Forster wrote a light comedy and this adaptation makes it into a dark tragedy. C'mon. Watch the 1985 version with Helena Bonham Carter, Julian Sands, and Maggie Smith. Never try to redo perfection.

  • its like they used the appendix in some version of the book for this ending..Forster's afterthought.., still terrible ending...

  • Comment removed

  • what right did they have to change the ending? the music makes it feel like it was all a conspiracy on top of everything

  • doesn't come close to the 1985 version at all. i was ok w/ the changes until the end, talk about unnecessary and wrong, ugh!

  • whaatt? This was weird but whatevs it was alright.

  • i'm sorry to say but this was a terrible adaptation...the ending was just wrong! the 1985 one is still my alltime favorite period drama. thanks for uploading it though ;)

  • How sad and unnecessary! If I'm not mistaken, I think A Room With A View is generally considered to be Forster's most positive novel, and they go and make the ending like that.

  • th 1985 version is so much better! More delicate more beautiful! I dont even understand this ending...

  • i don't really see the purpose of making him die

  • who decided to change the ending?! the ending to the novel is so beautiful--this is just depressing!

  • @lisgirl978 i havent read the book, what really happens in the end?

  • @changesnair They elope and live happily ever after :)

  • really?!?!

  • @strongerthenlove he doesn't die in the book, but i do recommend picking up a copy of the novel that includes 'a view without a room' it is e.m. forsters' conclusion to the story it is only a chapter long but if your wondering what happens to the characters later on this should suffice

  • Did he really die in the book?

  • Ther was no fiery lovemaking in the novel!!!

  • who on earth was the idiot who changed the ending? and what on earth did they think they were doing?

  • @bigbadbigfoot: My mouth was open . . . . how could they . . . . why oh why ruin a beautiful ending.

  • Thank you for uploading this!

  • thanks a lot
