i own a z and could have predicated this. z's have major brake fade problems on the track caused by lack of cooling ducts. different pads/fluid and its a different story. but hey, porsches are great cars and i cant knock em. Best balance machines on the road imo.

I think the skill of the drivers is the biggest part of the equation here. The 911 might have it on paper, but it is much more difficult to drive to its limits than any of the other cars here, particullary the mid engined Cayman S. Plus it looks to be an automatic? (no sign of paddles?) And the guy isn't even manually shifting it? Very poor driving skills.

the cayman is such a beautiful and poised car. i read a base cayman is actually faster than a base carrera. porsche designed the cayman's gearing so it would be slower because they wouldn't want a cheaper car to top they're flagship 100k carrera

Over a an entire race consisting of 50+ laps the 911 would eventually hunt down the cayman S. Even its' great handling can't overcome being down 65hp to the 911. The race should finish in the order:

1. 911 S

2. Cayman S

3. Boxster S

4. Nismo 370z

5. Z4 sDrive35i
