HTC Legend y Desire

Should I get a Desire S or Legend? I need some advice please. I don't need a very high tech phone, just want a smooth surfing net experience, not laggy and up-to-date. Thank you!

Desire wins on specs, Legend on design.

But the specs don't seem to be that far away from one another,

I have both of them :

Legend is more beautiful and compact. The uni-aluminium-body makes it very robust.

Desire has much better proc, more RAM, and bigger screen.

Both of them are the best Android phones at the moment.

The HTC Desire is ugly if you compare it to the Legend, and how is it better, Better / bigger screen, and faster. Yeah i know that the Desire is nice but, it looks kinda like a gps or a working mobile, and the design of the Legend is just MASTER..

Yeah i like the Legend better than Desire. Btw i have the Legend, and one of my friends have the Desire, and the Legend is much better

iphone ? more like yphone! Why do people get them because of fashion only? All my friends have it, I am the last and I don't even want it. Most of the apps are gimmicks, the camera has no flash (!) and its so heinously expensive. Desire is the phone for me, can't wait to get it (5 mp camera - more like it). Most people are drawn in by fashion and advertising I guess, rather than doing their research!

They are both very decent phones...... the legend is more stylish, while the desire has slightly better features ( speed + camera etc ). I have an HTC legend and it's working great!

IIRC Desire doesn't use its full potential yet and is "limited" by the Android OS.

As of now, both are pretty much almost at same speed with little difference hands on, with the Legend also having a bit more battery life and the screen still being viewable even at normal daylight (something where the Desire's reflective screen is a con).

Specs are a nice thing, but reality is another.

I concede though that on the long run the Desire is gonna be better after new OS updates.

@KingKuisma I can't decide for you, but I have the HTC Desire, and the screen is just stunning, watching movies, looking at pictures etc. Definitely the best screen I've seen, and I would guess it's the best on the market.

If you just want a really really cool phone, of course with Internet and Sense UI, go with HTC Legend.

If you want more than that, a phone that works as a TV and photoviewer when you're on the go, and the fastest performance you could ask for, go with HTC Desire.

@getblitzed Actually it's a good idea. If the same phone had the better specs and the better looks, than no one would have bought the other one. But this way, since the desire has slightly better features and the legend has slightly better looks, the two balance out, and more phones are sold. So it is a good strategy when it comes to selling phones for HTC, which is what they are really interested in.

I would go with the Legend here, I prefer compactness of legend, but thing that bothers me is that legend supposedly has a quite poor wifi reception - almost rendering it as useless if wifi router is not in the line of sight.

Anyone here with first hand experience on that?

@siamak14 Well, as much as I would like to help, I'm not really capable. I don't have either phones. :D I'm getting the Desire tomorrow - after a long run trying to decide between a Desire and a Legend.

Although you are right - some people have reported that they are unable to connect to their router. I wouldn't put too much into it though, as it only seems to happen to a handfull of people. Besides, I'm certain that HTC will fix this issue soon. Get down to a store, try both phones and decide.

neither the HD2 nor the Nexus One. I would buy the HTC Desire, it has better hardware than the HD2 and the Nexus. The Desire has like the Nexus One a 3,7 display. And the Desire is cheaper than HD2 and Nexus One. So you got a better phone for less money. If you want to choose either the HD2 or the Nexus, i would take the Nexus, because it has Android, and that's way better than Windows Mobile, wich the HD2 uses.
