@messengercrow Not at all, there is lots of moisture present that will not go anywhere for a while. Also the agar contains lots of moisture to support growth of colonies. One thing I'd practice that i didn't see in the video is to keep the petri covering half shut to avoid any contamination from spores present in the air, luckily this person has a fume hood to keep air contamination out,

if you spread it for too long the bacteria will dry out. better have until it's still wet
