  • ...This is where thousands of letters from taxpayers are supposed to be presented in overfilled carts. ...It didn't happen.

  • Saw her today talking about the Planned Parenthood issue. She was the best one of the bunch, citing facts and using pragmatic logic to reinforce her position. Her compatriot, (fellow Democrat) Patty Murray, sounded like an absolute idiot.

  • first dislike

  • One of the few good senators left ...

    For the rest...

We can vote them all out !

Search " ourcaucus " on google.

  • Read: Her name is Ms. Ann (on YOUTUBE) By Rev. Manning. This guy speaks the truth. Also, Howard Stern interviews him in 4 parts on YOUTUBE. This guy is great. obama is an illegal, muslim porch monkey, who will soon be deported!

  • OH and Obama of course also

  • Oh course Mccain voted for this

  • Oh you posted all the yea votes for the bill THANK YOU. Damnn it MURRAY HOW DARE U VOTE FOR THIS BULLSHHHH. Well ill be fighting to get u out of the senate, good luck.

  • Hey looks like im voting cantwell next time around. I wonder how muarry voted.

  • I congradulate her for opposing the heist. As for the Republicans all of the sudden squaking about fiscal restrain with regards to the stimulus (which I oppose), unless they voted against the first heist, they have no voice.

  • As much as I have disagreed with Sen. Cantwell in the past, she stood up for future generations and what is right by refusing to be a part of this Wall Street Welfare 'n the bribes that were snuck in2 the final legislation! She voted against it twice 'n against most of her fellow Democrats. I'm a passionate Wa. voter and I will always remember her standing up for the taxpayers on this one. On the other hand, I will lead my own local campaign against Sen. Murray when she is up for re-election!!

And appearing on MSLSD? ......that only means shes a raving foaming at the mouth = FOOL! Along with Keif OldHam! She listens to those liars and loons? TRY FOX Maria! And then CATCH A CLUE as to what is wrong with your IDEAS! You Libs gotta = GO! So WE THE PEOPLE can rebuild this great land and not have you interfearing with others LIVES! LYING BY OMMISION!

  • she voted against the bailout, and for regulating large bank interests. don't get your anger.

  • ...she cheated her way into office - and that is proved by the evidence discussed on yesterdays news saying that about %22 percent of WA votes are still = FAKE!....and this Dim won by LESS than 2000 votes!.........she is a hiding fraidy cat loony DIM and looks out with dolls eyes on MSLSD! That should tell you her "interests" = CASE CLOSED! WE THE PEOPLE do not want her claws into our lives and when she said "we gotta pass somethin" she is officially A DUMB DIM! we'll see if she votes for CHAOS!

  • did she vote for the bailout or against it. i took from the heading, and her language that she voted against it, unlike the majority of dems and gopers. shame on them.

do you suppose she had something to do with the swindle in the vote count?

if all she is is a cock block to the average politician, i find her anti-big business streak admirable and sorely needed on the big stage. you seem to be too caught up with brands.

  • .."anti-big-business"..........any loon that would not want MASS "businesses" BIG or small is a commie with a elitist attitude and needs to get DAS BOOT!........(the BOOT) as soon as possible........you Dims are all the same. Regulations; Rules ; TAXES and then ????waaaa???? when your State crumbles into penniless poverty with pontificating Dim poops running their "superior stategies" into the ~~rocks~~!!.......lol! = Maria Can't well ever MAN UP and face WE THE PEOPLE! shes another drone~~zzz

  • unfettered, big business should, just as any civilized government, be subject to regulations that prevent it from unfairly titling the playing field, and ultimately hollowing democracy -- think of the aptly organic bill of rights. i view this as the individual versus big business (zombie businesses on tax-payer support, to be exact) happy to see dems (or any politician) refuse mob-money.

  • we might agree on taxes and fewer regulations, provided you were willing to concede either that reduced income taxes create ginormous sales taxes or scant spending for entitlements, military, or most government expenditures, increased taxes on profits to make up the shortfall, and very little room for the bailouts that were initiated by the bush/gop admin, or any consideration (read safety net) of our aging demographic, our overpaid workforce, and dearth of skilled technocrats to compete.

  • ..does that include George Soros?

  • and silly - pobaldy66 - you would WONDER how that piddlying amount you mentioned that bugged you about BUSH?.....has ended up with us now owing TRILLIONS MORE???......seems your goob of a Prez Czar has become a medusa headed MONSTER of debt; debt; debt???............how's that something you just IGNORE!........and he spends each day: LYING BY OMMISION just like Maria Cantwell does as she "makes it all up"....lol! ........coming up with FRAUD LIBERAL MATH IN HOW THIS ALL GETS FUNDED! ....Seeesh!

  • correct me if i'm wrong: the majority of the bailout money came through the 700 billion bailout. the auto bailout followed pre-obama. significant monetization has come through the fed, which is independent, or dependent on the overarching industry.

i don't blame bush especially, but the bailout was passed by the previous administration, a majority of republicans -- the so-called party of anti-big government and fiscal conservatives.

  • it was clear that obama would be no different -- hell, we might still be in iraq if obama (trying to prove his mettle) were president during 911 -- equally funded by the financial and automotive industries. i voted for mckinney. as well as everything else, she pushed for david walker -- notorious penny pincher -- to oversee any bailout, and also chair the fed or tres. sec. (i forget which).

  • debt? bush delivered the largest increases in gov't spending-debt ever: prescription drugs, no child left behind (unfunded or not), costly wars, reduced taxes. i'm not convinced that it was all for the purpose of job creation.

big business inevitably attempts to buy favor, including legislation and taxes that raise the bar of entry into industry and ultimately deter innovation and fair competition. it is unethical whether it's microsoft, soros or too big too fail.

    1988 - bennett - drug czar

  • @pobaldy66 - Obama has left Bush in the DUST re: spending. Obama is turning us into a socialist nation. He and government agencies are roadblocks to reducing damage in the Gulf oil disaster. He and Congress just shoved an unconstitutional health care law down our throats. Obama said no-one earning under $250K would see their taxes go up, but watch what happens on 1/1/2011. EVERYONE who pays taxes will have to pay more. The bottom rate goes up 50%, from 10% to 15%!! REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER!

  • @logmeindangit

i don't suppose the wars, and the really separate matter of their so-called representative prosecution (patriot act, fisa, illegal detainment, torture) and bush's re-election were shoved down anyone's throat. add faith-based initiatives, contrary to the establishment clause, and i don't see the fuss with obama taking the ball and running out the play. same system. and i find it hard to believe that those opposed to obama are finally waking up and saying enough.

  • @logmeindangit

i already made clear that i am not the one to be making the argument that bigger gov't is a solution to anything. bigger gov't, or more precisely increasing social spending, is endemic to aging nation-states. if you examine our history, you might imagine that socialism for the rich is not new. social spending might seem at the heart of maintaining a facade of democratically (well, politically) reducing class tensions.

  • @pobaldy66 - You said, "social spending might seem at the heart of maintaining a facade of democratically (well, politically) reducing class tensions." Oddly stated. But the truth is, social spending both creates and maintains class warfare, the redistribution of wealth, its recipients being "winners" chosen by the government, the "losers" being the taxed. A graduated tax is class warfare. A flat tax is not. A consumption tax might be more fair than an income tax. Obama is radical and wrong.

  • @logmeindangit

off on a tangent about taxes makes obama radical because he doesn't adhere to conservative principles about taxes. loopy-de-loop. what is the organic claim here?

not to waste an opportunity -- did you get the point, or is this about being too smart for one's own good.

  • @logmeindangit

well, it seems cantwell caved in anyway. health care and the financial markets need overhauling. i just don't think these half-assed measures even moved toward that. they represent precisely what you are talking about: gov't for leading industry, against the interest of people. "socialism" is mere advertisement.

  • @pobaldy66 - Your terms are vague and incomplete, bordering on rhetoric. You and I may see eye-to-eye on a few issues were we to discuss things in person, but I feel am far more concerned about the present state of decline in our adherence to the Constitution than are you. One point: Yes, Bush's Patriot Act stepped over the line re: not getting court orders to wiretap, but there is NO evidence of its abuse on us, and it had a sunset clause. Obama REMOVED that sunset clause, making it permanent.

  • @logmeindangit \

constitution - what? i called someone out because they were doing the same thing you're doing: protesting about obama in the most incendiary language, and defending bush, even if by comparison. not good enough, son.

about the law: i'm too self-conscious and learned, and i realize it's foolish to buy into any inviolable article. you probably see the us for its exceptionalism. i see it as a time and place.

  • @logmeindangit

we are no different than a collection of people. if not, we need men like washington, lincoln, obama... i repeat: i find it inane that you only agree on one point on bush, unless you are equally being vague, but only one word is sufficient in describing obama. keep writing...

  • @pobaldy66 Health care and the financial markets needed government to stop regulating them in ways that impede our ability to get the best svcs at the best prices. The Community Reinvestment Act was the largest originator of the current financial meltdown, then it was compounded by bundled gambles being bet on in the mkt. Investors in credit default swaps and other mtg bundle 2ndary investments should have been allowed to FAIL. We'd heal faster than with less govt. manipulation & social eng'ng.

  • @logmeindangit

enough said. all regulation is bad because the cra, you claim, caused the financial meltdown. you're a fool, if you believe that.

deregulation allowed large capital firms in proprietary products to be pooled and loose with fasb, creditization and debt issuance; ultimately an innovative system came along that could leverage the same paper. should there be reserve limits at banks? i have been advising my clients to buy gold for years.

  • @logmeindangit

about the cra. sub-prime loans have a negative correlation with income. many subprime loans were taken out as investment loans, making the poor persons designed to benefit from the cra ineligible -- unless you want to make another claim about the program. the program did not encourage any businesses to break any laws that i am familiar with.

your knack is moving from the specific to the general, and providing answers to your own straw men. in dc they call it fillibustering.

  • @logmeindangit

i forgot to mention fdic as well as reserve limits at banks. all bad, right?

i think the health care costs could be alleviated by anti-trust laws that they seem to be exempt from, but beware. of. that.

  • My question is why aren't there more of our elites standing up for us. ( I can just see bush zoning out during this statement thinking of his god damn family ranch)

  • At least we are learning you the friends and enemies of the people are.

  • and president is thinking about where to go on a vacation next.

  • I have to admit, I havent liked her as my representative in the past but I am very pleased and somewhat surprised by this address. I am very glad she stood up and addressed the issue regarding Washington Mutual.

  • I am so proud to have her as my representative on this issue. Thank you, Maria Cantwell, for doing the right thing and voting NO on this poisonous bill.

  • True leaders (Senators) from VT, SC, WA, LA and AL ---- Thank GOD for these true patriotic leaders. We will be there for to the end. Lets hear the rest of the weak-limp senators who sold our country out to the central bankers who are trying to gain more control of our lives.

  • Go Cantwell, atleast one of my state senators had sense

  • The bailouts are the PRIVATELY owned Central Bank (Fed.) foreclosing AGAIN (1929 & 2008) with help from THEIR agents in Congress & the media!

The Fed is AGAIN stealing OUR assets in exchange for fiat currency and debt they created from thin air fraud.

Obama, McCain (McBama) and Biden all voted FOR this foreclosure. CHANGE after Nov? WHO?

Hello Voting for this foreclosure is TREASON!

The 1st Amendment did NOT work!

Is it time to use the 2nd Amendment to replace the traitors?
