Your video was my MAIN reference while I was splitting my hallway in two - due to high ceilings & cold winters... thanks so much!! Much love from Montreal!! :)
@vomitinyourface: Awesome, my friend! Great work - and I'm honored to have been a small part of your preparedness project! Many blessings, and keep up the fantastic work --GM
I've been watching your videos all day and I wanted to say thank you for the information and ideas. I kept think throught the video how in a worst case scenerio stuation, since you made the loft so sturdy to begin with it could be used as a spare bunk in inself. Take a futon matress or sew a mattress together that could fit the space and you have room for three instead of two.Great ideas, and simple enough most people could build.
Very impressive, very well put together. It was fluid as well as informative, on of the best instructive videos I have ever seen. Concerning the reviews of the "Big Boy Cot", I was unable to locate any, could you point me in the direction of some of those reviews, Thank you.
Man, your videos are epic. Some might consider them extreme but my wife and I have 6 kids to consider should any emergency hit. That is pretty extreme. You cover so much. So many things I would never consider. Thank you for explaining things so dudes like me with small brains can understand them!!!
Is this room in your home or a basement etc. I have a room in my garage that I am considering using. The room is roughly 12' by 11'. It has a windows that I am considering closing off, but might need to add an airconditioner later.
liked your video and ideas so much i started 2 days ago and tore my bunker room compleatly apart and started over.redesign,rebuild.great videos! keep up the good work.your research is helping others.
Might want to just go ahead and do folding bunks, hinged on the wall and folding up to the side, then move the cots over to the bugout trailer. Folding bunks give back floor space when they are not being used and probably cost less than the cots. You can probably find some old single wide bedframes from hide-a-beds and weld them rigid then attach one side to the wall on hinges. Another option is wall brackets and legs which allow you to fold the frames up small and attach them to the wall
@8digitPDX: Thanks again for your insightful comments. I'm actually quite happy with the layout here. But I'm happy to forward this recommendation to others for their project considerations. --GM
man thanks so much for this great helpful video im sure sometime in my life i will do this :D and if anyone needs help im sending them to your videos :D so glad i came across your videos so helpful!
I really like the layout. Definitely love the cot idea and the "bunker room" idea. I think in my own home I would separate the project maintenance and the bunker room, unless there is a specific reason you put the two together.
@survivalizer; Great idea! As I've always said, these are just suggestive options and you can obviously tailor these ideas to your own liking/needs. Would love to see the finished product, my friend! Thanks for watching --GM
@sfmetalerik: Thanks for your comment! That video is the only thing that survives of that 'era' in my life -- I still do have the compiled notes, though. Many blessings --GM
My first thought was why not beds up top and storage below, but then I thought your way offers extra floor space for projects and meetings when needed by folding up the beds, and it makes the bed area suitable to anyone regardless of age (no ladders needed).
It's exciting to see survival stuff go beyond the usual BOB videos (though your BOB videos are top notch like all your other video).
@oTHEBLESSEDHELLRIDEo I have the same problem with my wife, makes it very difficult to make any major preparations. I guess you do what you can and choose your battles carefully.
wow- it must be nice to have a mcgyver type compound at your own place. i guess prepping for your phd really helps in organizing these excellent videos. i look foward to many more from you - great job!
@lkcheat : Thanks for your kind comments, brother! All skill sets -- whether military or academic-based -- at one time 'blended' together for me. Thanks for watching, my friend --GM
@Mrcaffinebean: Yes -- I just gave that some consideration the other day -- if we needed to, the loft can double as extra sleeping quarters as well. Thanks for watching, and stay tuned! --GM
Great video, with such clear and simple instructions even I could build a loft like this. Definitely a consideration when we build our house. Thank you!
I am blown away every time i watch your videos because of how detailed you are, and how you are able to very clearly and succinctly make me understand. Well done, sir.
