He's the evil she is saving the woman she loves from, Alex... to win her heart... by killing her entire family... but at the same time 'rescuing' her. It's like a dual personality, where she sees herself as the savior from a sadistic murderer, but both are within the same person.

This movie is a lot like made for tv movie Intensity which is based on the novel by Dean Koontz, the only thing i can say is that even though that movie has it's budget limitations the lead role played by John C McGinley can really keep the suspense and drama all the way through... This movie is very much like Intensity, even with the gas station scene...
I can't believe people think this movie is so bad. Yeah I get the ending may not be what people wanted or expected, but in my opinion it's the most terrifying film of all time. There is not a movie (aside from Texas Chainsaw Massacre) that scared the absolute shit out of me. Screw the Exorcist as being more scarier than this. There is no comparison.

The opening scene haunts me...*shudders* Could have done without -that- seared into my brain...
Slasher flicks, on a norm, bore me...High Tension did not...Conclusion wasn't much of a shocker, imo, but the movie itself was a disturbing ride. I don't think Alexandre Aja could have made it any more obvious that the first half of this movie was TOTALLY taken almost directly from Intensity. And 28weeks 2die is correct....the ONLY reason Koontz didn't sue was that he did change the ending.
But Intensity was way better anyway. John C McGinley was just too awesome.

Good movie, but, this film bears strong resemblance to the book "Intensity" by Dean Koontz around 1993 or '95. A few things were changed, mostly the ending. I believe the reason why Mr. Koontz didn't file a lawsuit, was because this film didn't do that well in the states like it did overseas.

did not like this movie the ending made the movie worse then it is two girls, best friends one of them is the killer she even says she is the killer at the beging of the movie but then again who was she fighting with herself and how was she dring the truck when she was driving the car hiding from the truck then the gas station she is calling the police on herself and the police can not find the station without the address you would think they can trace it movie is has to many holes dumb

Some of you so ignorant. Still arguing about the ending! If by now you still don't understand the movie get over it & move on. To keep mentioning a book & say the entire movie was ripped from that is ridiculous. This movie played on an idea that has been done several times so why just accuse this movie. The opening scene haunts me...*shudders* Could have done without -that- seared into my brain...
Slasher flicks, on a norm, bore me...High Tension did not...Conclusion wasn't much of a shocker, imo, but the movie itself was a disturbing ride. I put this up there with Deadgirl for movies that make me squirm....and can't really watch more than once. Not because they weren't essentially good movies, but 'cuz they make me feel...icky...

I don't think Alexandre Aja could have made it any more obvious that the first half of this movie was TOTALLY taken almost directly from Intensity. And 28weeks 2die is correct....the ONLY reason Koontz didn't sue was that he did change the ending.
But Intensity was way better anyway. John C McGinley was just too awesome.

yea, im sorry if you didnt like this movie once so ever you should be shot. Even though it was scary and was way full of suspence and mystery. if you didnt like this movie there is obviously no hope for you in the horror/suspence section and your ass should get into another category like comedy or some crap..

(a) The creators definitely borrowed the Delorean from the Doc to go into the future to steal from said movie "Shutter island" and "Secret window" haaha :D ( by the way that is of course a joke and should be taken as one ;D )... but this movie has a lot of the same stuff as in DEAN KOONTZ INTENSITY which came before this one :), all the way up to the gas station scene which were the stories stop being the same :)

Good movie, but, this film bears strong resemblance to the book "Intensity" by Dean Koontz around 1993 or '95. A few things were changed, mostly the ending. I believe the reason why Mr. Koontz didn't file a lawsuit, was because this film didn't do that well in the states like it did overseas.
