Perhaps Bush has used the phrase at some point, as you suggest, but Turner was referring specifically to the period PRIOR to the Iraq War, which means before March 20, 2003. I actually believe Turner is being taken to task unfairly by those who say he was referring to terrorism, generally. He was clearly referring to the Iraq War, but Bush's statements that he (mis)quotes were explicitly referencing states that harbor or sponsor terrorists, not individuals who may or may not support the War.

Bush said Iraq tried to purches Yellow Cake Uranium from Niger, not Clinton. THIS is the reason we went to war. He ignored the fact that the IEAE proved the evidence was a forgery, NOT Clinton. Clinton's administration did NOT flash erroneous evidence to the U.N. Our kids are dying in Iraq because of one President, Bush. Excuse me, but he said both. The first time, during the state of the Union, he said, "with us or against us" and he's repeated it DOZENS of times. He's since corrected himself (after looking like an idiot) and added "against the terroist". You really should look at ALL of the evidence and not just the evidence you like.

A small suggestion for the future, and I say this with no animosity. If you are questioning the accuracy of someone's statements and accusing him or her of cherry picking evidence, you should do a bit of research yourself in advance. Following, for your perusal (a couple of posts -- sorry), are links to President Bush's State of the Union Addresses made in 2002 and 2003. In neither of these Addresses will you find the phrase you have attributed to him in that context.

You've missed the point of my initial statement in full, and I fear this is degenerating. My point simply was this: Turner used the "with us or against us" phrase as though Bush had used it in reference to individuals making a decision about whether to support the war in Iraq. 100% incorrect (whether Bush used the phrase or not). Bush was referring to States that sponsor or harbor terrorists, NOT individuals in the US. End of story. Turner was twisting words, as is his specialty.

Secondly, Turner was saying was he wanted to read and think about a decision as important as sending our young men and women into a war. You're twisting his concern. Turner clearly was referencing his personal reflection on the Iraq war. Bush was referencing the broader fight on "terror," and the states supporting it. "Brainwashing sucks" is the kind of unsupported ad hominem attack that Turner uses, and is quite revealing.

Perhaps Bush has used the phrase at some point, as you suggest, but Turner was referring specifically to the period PRIOR to the Iraq War, which means before March 20, 2003. I actually believe Turner is being taken to task unfairly by those who say he was referring to terrorism, generally. He was clearly referring to the Iraq War, but Bush's statements that he (mis)quotes were explicitly referencing states that harbor or sponsor terrorists, not individuals who may or may not support the War.

In Africa regimes are intolerably cruel as are a lot of South East Asian Countries. Saudi Arabia in the middle east are allies with the US but their whole justice system is based on torture. Listen to his actual words and forget about the attempt to tell you how to think. I still don't see the conection between 9/11 and Iraq.
