  • They look so, so ,so words fail me, they look so GAY.

  • I love how they are changing hands and trying not to get caught up in the mic's cords!

  • LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks, guys!!!! <3

  • @SlickBlueSkin1973

I FIND YOUR COMMENT OFFENSIVE....RACIST....WITH THE N WORD...NO I AM NOT BLACK...THOUGHT WE WOULD BE PAST THIS BY NOW....

  • exercise*

  • I can do an excercise routine to this..hmm.. coolness .. I love them <3

  • One of the first 45's I ever bought..still melts my heart.

  • Oh, sheesh.. They had the same costume designer as Elvis, thats why they look the same..and as far as the dancing goes ALL 70's DANCING looks retarded now..but it didnt back then.People need to grow up

  • why do they insist on dancing so retarded in the 70s

  • One bad record doesn't spoil the whole career; it takes eventual disinterest to do that.

  • Jay was rockin' it, wasn't he? they're just awesome.

  • love this song. :-)

  • For a motment there I thought I was watching the Dancing Elvi 5 impersonaters.

  • I remember watching them perform on tv! I loved them 40 years ago and they're still putting a huge smile on my face!

  • I vividly remember those days because back then I had every album the Jackson 5 ever made. That made me super popular with the girls in my class because their parents wouldn't buy them any J5 records. They didn't like their daughters going crazy over a bunch of Black kids and hanging up Michael Jackson posters in their rooms. Their parents felt much better about the Osmonds and they had all their posters, etc. But everybody always came over to my house so they could sneak and listen to the J5.

  • @gmlaster WHAT family still tours and produces cd's??

Osmonds are still packing them in J5 are not..

    .

  • I know about Donny, but what happened to the rest of the group? Does anyone know? By the way, I really liked this song. Still do.

  • An actual band of white musicians with rhthym!!! They were good!!!

  • @redhead5150 Very well stated. Why aren't you accused of playing the race card? Why is it every time someone says anthing about race now - a - days you are accused of playing the race card. What the hell is the race card anyway & how do you play it, like 21 or something?

  • @beatlesrock4ever It was actually written BY one of the Jackson 5 FOR the Osmonds. That's why it has that Jackson 5 sound to it.

  • @screaminghallelujah6 Thank you for the truth being spoken for once.

  • @screaminghallelujah6 George Jackson is not related to the Jackson 5. He just wrote the song for them which the Jacksons did not want. He also wrote another song that the Osmonds recorded called Double Lovin.

  • @purpleaudkoala Oh ok, thank you for the correction

  • @screaminghallelujah6 this song was NOT written by anyone in the Jackson 5 nor was it written specifically for anyone.....it was written by the same people that also wrote songs that the Jackson 5 recorded. J5 passed on this song to do ABC so the Osmonds did it........and later on Donny Osmond passed on Ben and Micheal recorded it.

  • @rhiann0n1 yeah, I know, somebody already told me that, but thanks for pointing it out anyway

  • OMG the rear view in those tight white jumpsuits.....wow...I love the dance to this song, and merrills a cutie :)

  • Man!! I thought the Jacksons did this!! I'm reallyy suprised! I didn't think the Osmonds were this good!!

  • Osmonds have more talent in one finger than the Jacksons have in all of theirs put together. A much better family too.

  • @titansful I wouldn't go that far mate. The Jacksons were actually more talented, but the Osmonds weren't bad at all.

  • @titansful What the hell have you been smokin' ? Why do you think they never put them on the same ticket?

  • @geemanwilli Because the Osmonds would put the Jacksons to shame. They did not want to make the Jackson look too bad.

  • @titansful Honestly, do you really think that or is it just because you are of the caucasion persuasion that you say that. Because, I think the Osmonds were good to be white but in their wildest dreams you could not get any one of them to say what you just said.

  • @geemanwilli What difference does it make what persuasion I am? Why is it that the race issue always comes into something like this. For your information I am of the Latino persuasion. Again you said you thought the Osmonds were good to be WHITE. Again the race card. I do not care if the Osmonds were purple and the Jacksons were pink. I MY opinion the Osmonds were and are much more talented than the Jacksons. That is my opinion. We will just have to agree to disagree. Take care.

  • @geemanwilli Really, Why is it now a days that anytime race is mentioned it's playing the race card. I'm not playing any card game. I'm merely stateing a fact and instateing that fact race happens to be at the focal point. Because if I knew you were Latino, I wouldn't have even bothered to have that conversation at all.

  • I love them since I was 12... Thank you for the vid :-)

  • The Osmonds existed and were performing long before the Jackson 5. Both groups were talented in their own right...Donny was glued to be BR walls...

  • @bghanna1 And why do you think that was? It was because back then it was easier to do anything if you were white. And because Mister White-Man himself (Andy Williams) saw in them something that reminded him of he & his siblings along time before and gave them their big break..

  • WTF is wrong with you???

  • what do smallminded people want to compare the jacksons and the osmonds for they both have a singer who sounds like a small black girl . is that it! now that i've pointed out the obvious can you evolve yourself. i forgot that oldargument a million years ago... GET A LIFE . for Christsake. it's music not a reason to fight. whats wrong with you.

  • @muddack ... is this a good song or what?? yeaah!

  • Wanna be jackson 5

  • My God!!waouh!!!!!What a band!!!they're amaizing!!!!I wish I'll be born before to know 'em better !!!!!!!!!!be a teenager for Donny!!oups

    Bonnie loves you Osmonds bross!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!♥♥♥♥

  • Never too late!

  • Yes, I too think the Osmonds were meant to be the caucasian answer to the J5. But so what? They did a great job here, not bad for a group of males raised as sheltered mormons...Besides, this world is big enough for all kinds of music styles :) Embrace the sounds of other cultures!

  • They look like five Elvises up there. LMAO!

  • who gives a fuck about whos better they are both good at what they do !

  • i would rather watch the jackson 5!! sorry..

  • You'd rather watch the Jackson 5. Nothing at all to be sorry about. Most people would agree with you.

  • Then why did you come to this video to watch the Osmonds. To each his own.

  • AMEN

  • Oh I feel so old! My aunt, cousins and I loooooooved them.

  • I was so inlove with Donny,I had posters all over my walls of him.Time has been kind to him,hes as talented today as he ever was.And when he sang puppy love tonite on dancing with the stars I had a crush on hm all over again.lol The Osmonds rock.Congrads on your Dancing With The Stars win Donny

  • @toeztocy2003 my room was plastered even the ceiling with his pictures. Hubby still knows i love donny

  • @toeztocy2003

haha are you like 70 years old now?

  • @JUGUNchocoman like how old are you!

  • @vinyl45junkie

    younger than you lol

  • Tight!

  • whack as shit!!!!!

  • aprendan los nuevo grupos juveniles de los osmonds, como deben de ser de profecionales y no tanta tecnologia

  • That's right, the Osmond's were great in there on right!, and we dug them back in the day just has much! by the way it was the Jackson's till Joe shoved Mike in the spotlight!

  • oh this song is so bringing back to my youth

  • It makes me laugh to see the Jackson fans try to bash and compare to the Osmonds. The Osmonds were in show business long before the Jacksons. Joe Jackson used to make his sons watch the Osmonds to try to duplicate their sound. Yes, they recorded One Bad Apple and the song was written with the Jacksons in mind, but the Osmonds recorded it because they wanted to appeal to an audience of their peers. Bottom line, the O's have awards, gold and platinum records and fans that are true not rude.

  • Wrong. Osmonds were imitations of the Jackson 5. Donny was a pale imitation of Michael Jackson. The proof is in the history of the two performers. Michael becomes the King Of Pop. Donny Osmond - in spite of his Elvis Presley-appeal to white audiences who prefer white imitations to black originals - faded into obscurity. The Jackson Five will always be remembered as superior to thier imitators, the Osmond Brothers.

  • Donny won dancing with the stars tonite and has a show in vegas with Marie. He in no way had faded into obscurity.lol.He has shown he has what it takes to last in the business,Stayed clean and sober, never letting fame go to his head.He stayed Donny. Not to belittle MJ's fame,I loved his music and still do, the 2 cant be compaired .

  • "Dancing With The Stars".....well, good for Donny. It's true. No one should ever try to compare D. Osmond to the late, great Michael Jackson or the Osmond Bros to the Jackson 5. While the professional dancer working with Osmond was likely thrilled to be his partner and even more so after he (and she), won the competition, I suspect there isn't a pro dancer on that show who would not have been profoundly intimidated by the prospect of partnering with the dancer supreme, the great Michael Jackson.

  • @outrundaylite Now that's for sho' !!!!!

  • Why in the HELL would Joe Jackson make his sons watch the Osmonds to try to duplicate their sound when at the time Joe was grooming his sons for success, the Osmond Brothers sang BARBERSHOP MUSIC? Michael Jackson try to imitate a Barbershop singer? I've never read anything so STUPID in my life...well, maybe I have, but your comments rank right down there with the most stupid I've ever read. "Crazywhitechick", you've got that right.

  • yh, osbros were in light before J5, since thye wer eion the andy willaims show, but Joe didnt make J5 watch the osmonds til one bad apple. n thats coz Joe saw ossmonds as a enemy. i read somethin abot that ages ago. lol. my facts maybe a lil wrong, but it hink thts rite. lol :S

  • @CrAzYwHiTeChIcKs010 And no, That is the only No. 1 selling record the O's ever, ever, ever had. Their peers weren't black. They were trying to get some of that the J-5 were getting at the time. J-5 had passed them as the #1 family group in the world at the or at least caught up to them.

  • "One Bad Apple" was a great song and this video clip was outstanding. They had great showmanship after singing and dancing all day long, and left their audiences wanting more. 36 years later I'm still wanting more!

  • they sucked harmony terrible

  • .

The song "One Bad Apple" was

    written (by George Jackson)

with 'The Jackson 5' in mind. =D

It has a similar theme and sound as

"I Want You Back" by 'The Jackson 5'.

When 'The Osmonds' signed with MGM,

Records, they were sent to Fame Studios

in order to try to duplicate 'The Jackson 5.'

  • osmonds and jackson 5, end of discussion

  • This song was written for Michael Jackson but he declined it - it then went to Donny. I can definitely hear Michael sing this. Also, the song "Ben" was originally written for Donny but Michael ended up singing it. Just a bit of song trivia...!

  • I knew about the Ben song but I could not remember which song Osmonds got that the Jackson 5 turned down..

  • Can someone please tell me where and when this clip was shot?

  • Did their dad beat them like the Jackson 5 dad did?

  • oh shut up

  • No.

  • @turbotime1964

um nto sure. he was strict but nice. i do no that the life was a bit like the army. donny sed they had lockers n a time table or some thing. i no George was a bit harsh, donny or sum1 sed sumthin abt tht. i also no tht wen donny was 7 he was on tour n couldnt handle it so tried to sendin his mother a letter, pleading for her to cum get him, n jay took the note n showed hsi father. i cnt remeba wt father os did to donny, but i no donny gets very upset abot the whole of tht sub....

  • LoL...sounds just like a song that Jackson 5 would make!

  • 5 Elvis impersonators. Sorry but they didn't have as many hits as the J5. One Bad Apple was their biggest hit. They use to sing on the Andy Williams show but they didn't sing pop, they song mom & pop. When the J5 came out with I Want You Back then they switched to pop. J5 crossed over, but the Osmond didn't pick up to many black fans. They were considered copycats.

  • Tiny11bme

not in the 70s. my mum livd in the 70s.all the girls loved the os not J5. my mum n a few mates went to a hotel cz os were Supposly there. the jacks came out n waved n guess wt my mum n her mates were like? 'oh its only the jackson 5'. they wantd donny! nowa days, Os r considered to be J5 copycats. bk then, different story, they were too bands, tht got compared by papa. i dont think eithr ones r better. they r both great bands, n donny n Mj were mates!

  • Wow! I love the Osmonds. I love this clip!

  • Wish i'd seen them in the 70's but saw them 2008 at Wembley & that was great !!

  • aww this is just too cute! I love the osmonds! they are just awesome!

  • Just love the Osmonds and Jackson. Miss Michael. Grew up listening to both of these great groups. The first boy groups. Love them.

  • Just decided to log onto this because of all the publicity about Michael Jackson. A good song, but an obvious Michael Jackson imitation.

  • Osmonds had as many hits if not more than J5. They were as big as J5 at the time. Donny was as well known as Michael.

Donny and Michael always been friends, all the way to Michaels death.

  • The white imitations usually sell more than the black originals. Even when it's obvious that they have 1000 times less talent.

New Edition, then "New Kids on the Block" is another blatant example.

This is a white country after all.

  • yes they got more air time on da radio cuz they white j5 is better then them by a mile but doesnt mean osmonds are good but if j5 where white imagine how ppl would think of them back then.

  • I agree with you about NE, to me NKOTB could not hold their jock strap. As a matter of fact still can't.

  • dude maybe then but forever my friend j5 owns the osmonds make dem dudes sound like shit dont get me wrong they sound good just no j5.

  • LOL SO TRUE

  • @calimar28 What hits did the O's have other than "One Bad Apple" which was written by George Jackson (J-5's drummer). The only #1 song they ever had.

  • @geemanwilli THey had DOZENS of #1 and are STILL performing guess the Jackson fans don't like that fact.

  • @lovemuffin1963

When Donny dies, lets see if the entire planet mourns. The fact that they're still performing doesn't mean anything. Hell, The Platters are still performing too. I don't think the Jacksons fans ever saw the Osmonds as a threat no matter how many #1 "hits" they had. The Jacksons had their own unique style, fans in every country on Earth and they're now icons in music history. The Osmonds were cool, but you can't seriously believe that their music is as legendary as the J5.

  • ya they seem to dance just like jackson 5 rofl

  • COPY CATS

  • it does'nt matter, they proved white people wrong, and look why their songs are ontop.

  • j5 made osmonds be shit

  • they lame

  • OMG... what memories. I had this huge Osmond Brothers poster in my room for years. I just adored them. I forgot how talented they really were. Merrill and Donny ROCK!!!

  • still fabulous to watch, even after all these years what a great time in history thanks for sharing.

  • Thanks for the video post. I loved the Osmonds!!!

  • Please don't tell anyone, but I just favorited this video.

  • haha i heard this thi smorning ... n i was like wtf was this shit

  • Great video, great memories! I saw them at Madison Square Garden in NYC when I was a kid in grammar school. I bunch of us went with one of our moms. It was a wonderful time. I LOVED Donny. Still makes my heart happy to see him. Thanks a bunch!

  • poor donny. hes like a little midgit in a sea of white polyester.

  • What a great video. When I was 16 I was in radio and MC'd their concert. Donny closed the limo door on his hand. Ice was brought out. He was in pain and hit every post. One Bad Apple was the finale. I remember it took about 15 seconds for them to get from the stage, in the limo and out the door.

They were a kind and genuinely friendly, caring family. It was a great experience for me and I am very appreciative to see this again. I did 30 years in radio and retired in 2000. Great memories, indeed!
