I think I was one of the people that once said the lyrics were "kiss by a rose on the grave." I loved the way the song had sounded, but I hadn't heard it very often. Believe me when I say that I've heard it a thousand times since then (not even an exaggeration) and it is gray, not grave. I thought grave made more sense, but it's gray. And this is a beautiful rendition, but it seems like the last couple of seconds got cut off or messed up.

Actually, it is gray:

The beginning of the song mentions "... a graying tower..." and then says "You became the light on the dark side of me..." then "...The light that you shine can be seen".

From there he sings "I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the gray." Referencing the tower that was a symbol of himself. And finally the end of the chorus sums it up by saying "And now that your rose is in bloom. A light hits the gloom on the gray."

I hope this helps clarify things a little.

this is really beautiful :) i wish i could play piano, and it also makes me wish i was a ballet dancer, this would be a really good song to dance to.

i see you've been getting a lot of stick for your lyrics, but in my opinion it is "grave", i know it sounds the same as 'grey', but that doesn't make sense. i think it's the symbol of someone laying a rose on the grave of their loved one, it's like they're sending them a kiss represented in the rose.

This song was originally done by seal. However, the instrumental version you are playing in your video is played by

" Christopher Peacock " who plays at the Rosario Resort on Orcas Island. He's a great piano player.
