  • holy moly, its like when the dentist is doing a filling and you see all the gunk in the tooth come out. ;p

  • Dust factory? lol, what kind of factory?

  • I cleaned mine with a leaf blower. Start at about 5 feet and move a little closer slowly, depending on air pressure. All dust gone in 5 sec!

  • thats a one dusty motherfu*ker

  • omg that's a lot of dust

  • Buying cans of compressed air is a stupid way of wasting $. I live on the 3rd floor in an apt. I dusted my PC on a windy day: brought it by the window with the curtain drawn behind me to prevent dust blowing back in. The wind took care of most of it, and the remainder I dislodged with a soft-bristled brush and watched it being blown away.

Now my PC is quiet, what peace! Before dusting I was almost ready to buy a new PC just b/c of the loud noise it made.

  • dude your using it outside and on dirt. what do u think is going to happen. your blowing dust and dirt everywhere

  • Yes it is a good idea, it's the only way to do it, while i was working at computer shop (maintenence, builds, virus checks etc), we used spray duster to clean them, and we sold them too

spray dusters/compressed air are the only way to go, go ahead and try clean it with a dry, staticy cloth, or a moist short-circuity cloth

  • are you sure that's a good ideea?

  • /watch?v=Oy867YFc5P4

    Download Full CCleaner For free!

  • next time you want to clean your computer, don't put it on the ground.. even if you're blowing inside, the dust/dirt on the ground is coming inside. You're killing your hardware.

  • ty for this my pc has been overheating this summer i watched this and it helped

  • I Never seen such a dusty desktop PC, where it was Underground ?!#@

  • @SuperBikiniWallpaper You'd be surprised how much stuff just gets stuck in a computer Case

  • @SuperBikiniWallpaper it was osama's portable PC!

  • My videos and games have been running really choppy and slow as well as some other featers on my pc, even though everthing ran just fine two weeks ago. Do you think doing this may help? I dont think I have cleaned the inside of my pc at all since ive owned it.

  • Surely doing it outside is getting all sorts of dirt and dust inside it?!

  • @wowmoviemaniac Note the part where he blasts air into it to remove the dust...

  • men you clean your computer where there is full of leaves and debris....wow

  • @Batcat1313 would you want all that crap in your house?

  • holy shit that was much, btw is that SAND?

  • Use the specific filter on your comnpressor

  • why dont you remove the mobo from its case? i think that is the best way to clean that dusty pc of yours, dont ya think?!

  • Wow Thats sure is alot of dust!

  • like my home in malaysia lah... your house!

  • like i can get tht dusting thing .... :S

  • I have a question. I have problems opening the carcass. How did you opend it like that?

I want to try cleaning it for the wery first time (after the fan crashed 2 times)

Is it posible to clean the outside, without removing the carcass. My computer is the same kind, like yours.

  • lol i should do that for my computer....lets see if my mom will let me take it apart lol!

  • wow is that an outdoor computer?

  • I loved it when i went to my friends house to use his huge air compressor to clean my computer, i didn't think it was that dirty... lol.

Air compressors are by far the best PC cleaning solution.

  • That was a lot of dust, did you have it buried?

  • gas mask?

  • @Bl4lock computers fail of overheating all the time because of dust, cleaning it out is a really good thing and also it speeds up your computer if it's cooler. get it?

  • Spinning fans can create voltage (like a mini generator, so possible risk I use the same technique but stop the fans spinning

  • Dust is a PC's worst enemy. Besides lava.

  • I would trow that peace of junk in a trash cane!

  • @Agremen CANE!

  • @red12b T'aime tu sa les queud?

  • i clean my computer with a water hose and dried it with a leaf blower and runs great now.

  • This is what u call computer detailing next time put a vacuum inside the computer in a corner to keep the overdust from getting into other tight spots of the pc...

  • Use a vacuum cleaner. That blown dust collects into other tight spots of the pc.

  • at what psi is the air?

  • weight of pc - before cleaning 24kg ; after cleaning 9kg

    wow :D

  • that is insane. has that pc been sitting in a basement for 10,000 years?

  • dude this is gonna be the exact thing i'm gonna do

  • Hahaha...Yeah...Funny....I have a Soneta 3 500 case (just google) which has a LOCK on the side panel (Has a door too,in front of cd drive, power button...:P) but how can i open it..."....It's rather easy to open as it opens with a keyboard lock key which was used to......(to lock keyboards...wut?) at the time computers still used to run on coal" (the last part was a good one...)Keyboard lock key....anyone?Pictures?Where can i get?Thanks.....

  • Should have used that technique on my moms computer, heck I"m surprised her computer was still alive,it looked as if there was two years or more of dust.I noticed how much faster it ran after we cleaned it out,and defraged it.

  • There is nothing wrong with "spinning fans.. with compressed air.." or this cleaning method, I've done it for years.

I would suggest cleaning more often than the owner of this pc though.

  • can't imagine his house hahah

  • 1:26 full of win

  • This makes me tremble, all that dust coming out, so good! omg somethings wrong with me.

  • whats with all the dust?..he's like excavating an artifact

  • se nota ke saves pero mejor un soplador no compresor

  • wadda fuck!!!! You use your PC I N THE DESERT OF SAHAARA???

  • @GIKKIO3D lol he didnt he said he lived in Asia which is hot and alot of sand and dusty floating in da air thats why it looks like it was filled with sand in SHARAh desert

  • That is the dustiest mother effer i have ever seen

  • For all the people who think spinning the fans with air can cause damage, here is the truth: It CAN only cause damage if the fan spinns conversely because in this case the fans acts like a dynamo and energizes the mainboard with power. But if you remove the connectors before this won´t happen.

Seccond big point is following, a lot of ppl think u can damage the bearing. Wrong! The fans doesn´t have any mechanical bearing, they are magneticly mounted. No touching parts inside

  • that computer just drop into Sahara dessert?

  • Spinning the fans period with an air compressor is very unsafe and unrecommended... i also see you smoke near the computer due to brownish colored dust... lol all fans should be sationary and held for maximum safely.

  • ... And I thought my PC was the most dirty one, now look at yours ;)

  • The CPU fan is Running. So you Smash the System!

  • Not Good!

  • lol cool

  • damn was this the first time you cleaned your pc... ever

  • how do you get a pc that dusty i opended an 8 year old pc once running everyday and it wasn't nearly as dusty as this one!

  • Questions Mr. TechDoctorNetwork:

    1. I live in Singapore, a tropical country (like hot hot hot) and I want to ask if it's safe to use a compressor?it has more moisture and may corrode metal parts.

2.How often do you think i should dedust my PC?

3.What compressor did you use in that video and how much did it cost you?

  • @Billabongs122988

PS: I'm not exaggerating anything when I say that that dust in your pc is nothing to what I see here in SG. Dusts in PCs here include fur like dust cotton balls that clogged up\blankets cpu fan to heat sink. PCs always shuts down due to overheating.

  • Haha this is just awesome, why your pc gets so dusty?do you live in a desert?

  • How much pressure (psi) did you use?

  • @Bl4lock

Why do you say that? The machine went from overheating and crashing to working flawlessly. Australia can be very hot and all the dust, especially between the CPU fan and heatsink and inside the power supply, causes machines to fail regularly.

  • spinning the fans with an air compressor? bad idea!

  • @Rosty89

Not really, in theory, you shouldn't spin them too fast, but what is too fast? They normally spin at 3-4000 RPM. Of course if you are worried, stick your finger in the fan first and hold the blades in place. That video was shot a year ago, and the machine still works perfectly well.

  • @TheTechDoctorNetwork yeah, some fans are specified for that rpm range, but most of the case fan run at 500-1500 rpm. and spinning them with a compressor is.. let's say "more risky". glad that everything still works. :)

  • @TheTechDoctorNetwork Great idea cause I use a hair blower :P but if that doesnt damage it then I need to try it!

  • @TheTechDoctorNetwork Computer fans don't spin that fast.. They spin at a speed of up to 2.8k rpm at most..

  • @TheTechDoctorNetwork so, you should never do that to a fan

  • @TheTechDoctorNetwork breaking the fan with the air presure from the compresor

  • @Rosty89 the bearings are made for 30-50000 rpm they are also used in other things so don't worry

  • @Rosty89 i mean 30000-50000

  • @basbas63 kidding me? normal fans run at ~1200, 1500rpm. even AMD boxed fans just boost up to 5000rpm. 50.000rpm is a damn plane turbine! :P

  • @Rosty89 lol i meant 3000-5000 srry anyways i think they do spin to fast now i took a fan and a compressor and blew the crap out of it

  • hehe time to taek my computer to a GAS STATION and use the TIRE PUMP :D

  • wie lange wurde der nicht mehr sauber gemacht ???

  • i went to my gas station and use the tyre air pump to clean my pc~

  • @zomgbbqwth That's a great idea actually, cheap too.

  • omg do you ever dust thats so much

  • wow were did all of that dust come from. hahahahah

  • Yeah cleaning a pc about twice a year is great and stops your computer going on the blink. Now the dust build up in this pc is bad just like the dust build up in your expensive plasma or PS3. Buy a compressor it saves you a fortune on new items.

  • 1:06 lol

  • Looking to the dust makes me think the PC has stand over 10 years in a basement without ever being used..

  • @WackoX1337 If it wouldn' t be used, there wouldn' t be ANY dust inside, only on the outside, because the fans suck in dust. If you don' t turn it on, it won' t be spinning.

  • Fake Vid, a power supply that dirty would have blown

  • @markcumbriauk

Actually it is a real video, I dont have time to make a fake. :)

I agree that in some places a PSU with that much dust probably would blow, but Australia is very dry and we find machines like that almost every day of the week.

In a warm, dry, environment on the edge of suburbia, we see lots of dust!

  • I bet this pc isn´t cleaned for at least 5 years! I´am I right?

Yesterday I have cleaned my both PC´s in 1/2 year and there was almost no dust in it and I have cleaned them with 3 bar!

  • @trisanosh

It had probably been there about 5 years, maybe more. It was running Windows 98

  • hoooly shit mother of god :|

  • it still working??

  • @22cutedexter

It is. I threw some more RAM in it, and put XP on it, and it runns pretty well

  • i wouldve never thought of using a compressor! haha AWESOME!

  • @PS3FreakZ

I'm now looking for something I can take out on the road with me (we are a mobile support business) maybe an old diving tank or converted BBQ gas tank.. watch this space.

  • @TheTechDoctorNetwork if you want something portable, buy a lot of compressed air cans, they work grate, and only cost about 8 bucks a can, but buy a lot because they are not sold in some country's/state's.

  • @PS3FreakZ A clean paint brush is a much better tool for cleaning dust from a PC. You shouldn't use an air compressor, as well as compressing air it also compresses moisture and compressed air can also cause static charge to build up on electronic parts, both of which are harmful to electronic circuits.

  • @ianphil397 I agree, get a paint brush and a vacuum - suck the dust AWAY rather than blowing it around

  • ty kurwo..ahahahahhahaha sie wystraszyłes bo kompresor sie włonczuł heheheheheh

  • My computer might be a bit nasty. But really, mine wouldn't even look like that after 20 years o_O.

  • WT Fuck, did you leave a body in there to rot or something?

  • was that case a victim of an explosion in a flour factory?? geez!! lol

I'd go by what was posted about fans...try and keep them static when blasting them, they could be damaged spinning at speeds they are not designed to.

  • lol @ 1:04 that compressor surprised you a bit there..

  • u live in a cave ??

  • watching makes me feel funny... Is it only me... something about seeing that dust fly off, numbs me lol.

  • Dude theres like 1 kilogram of dust in the power supply! I never saw one THIS bad.

  • i need to get me a compressor...

  • WOW it was very bad, nice job with compressor.

  • Dude would it be easier to remove your Pc from the room your about sand drywall lmao

  • Good instructions. Just one thing: Try to avoid spinning up vents to high speeds as it could cause damage. I usualy block them with a cue tip or something similar.

  • like a blizzard! :)

  • I live in Eilat on the Red Sea which was/is a desert, the Arava desert.Funny thing is , since the city was started in 1949, it has been planted with trees and flower gardens which are all irrigated with timed sprinklers.Over the years the relative humidity has increased. That means desert/swamp coolers don't work as well.

But the PC's don't get quite as dusty as yours.

  • where the hell you are living in the desert???.......

  • I guess Australia is a large part desert, so maybe that makes the answer yes.

Around my home specifically, not really, but this is a hot dusty county in the midst of a drought..

  • ive got flies that have flown an died in my pc lol i dont know how they get in

  • can i use the dust cleaners from office depot.

  • is it safe to blow directly into the power adapter? (power box/supply)?

  • Yes it is. I probably _wouldn't_ do it with the power on, but it's just air that going in, so it's not going to hurt anything.

  • thanks

  • can someone plz give me suggestions on how to dust it besides this and how every so often to do it, i did it the first time with a swiffer duster

  • just buy a can of compressed air and clean it out every month, or every few months, as needed.

  • that is an insane amount of dust, im surprised you didnt find an ecosystem in there

  • just when you think it's finish....

  • im glad i pay someone every 2 to 3 months $20 bucks at office depot to do this for me cause if they mess it up they have to replace it free

  • a can of compressed air is cheaper, and it's very easy to do. You just open the case, and gently spray the parts until there is no more dust.

  • wow ur getting ripped off, it isn't hard at all to dust ur computer, and air wont damage your computer in anyway, i bet u all they do is go to the back of the store and get a can of compressed air (which is cheap as hell to buy) and they dust it off

  • WOW Alot of dust in your House and PC :)) nice

  • ahahaha i think he was starting to grow plants

  • what the hell.... you could grow plants in there

  • what air compressor are you using? I want to get one.

  • I Got A 1 Gallon Compressor At Wal-Mart For 50$ Best 50$ Ive Spent On My PC Im Not Buying 5$ Air Cans Anymore Plug It In And Free Air (I Clean My Pc Out 2 Times A Month)

  • Yikes! That is pretty much the shape my PC is in right now. I purchased the system back in 2006 and have yet to ever clean it. But I just bought a can of compressed air from Office Depot and will try to do an equally deep clean on her this weekend.

  • this is the most dirtiest pc i have ever seen

  • Your air compressor is really loud.

  • Leave the video card in. Often the video card fans are the first to choke up and die from the dust, usually because they are smaller and often spin faster. There is no video card in this movie because the machine used on-board video

  • I'm going to do this either tonight or tomorrow, and did you take out your video/graphics card?

  • Yes, you could destroy your PC doing this. This is not for everyone, but merely serves as an example of why computers need a thorough clean out every 12 months or so.

  • Now your PC looks very clean. But i have a question: if i will clean PC like in your movie, this can destroy my PC?

  • I don't think its smart to let the fans move while dusting.

  • Why? It's the best way to clear out the dust.

  • You can damage the fans especoaly when using an air compressor .

  • dude?!? were have you bin using your pc? in the middle of an freking sandstorm??

  • It's in a tin shed office in Melbourne, Australia. I suppose the fact we are in the middle of a drought makes it worse than usual, but I clean out at least one or two machines a week that are nearly that dusty. That one was a really fine dist, others are more matted and have like animal fur or something in them.

I've had one where the dust had made almost a blanket between the Fan and the Heatsink. not surprisingly the machine kept turning off because it was getting too hot.

  • I guess it might look like that, but it would actually be fairly hard to get that much dirt to stick inside a computer deliberately.

This is just the result of years of use in a dusty environment, and we see computers like that, or close, every week.

  • WHAT!??! lol correct me if im wrong but it looks like u put dirt in ur pc just for the video

  • i want an aircompressor now . would they let me do this at a gas station?

  • The nozzles they have at Gas (Petrol) Stations have a connector specifically for inflating Car Tyres, so it would be a bit difficult to use.

  • it's better not to use a compressor, it has more moisture and may cause corrosion in metal parts...

  • That can be a concern, but here in Australia it is so dry that it isn't a problem if the compressor is well maintained.

  • i think that maybe your PC is a little dusty there lol.

  • It's spo dusty!

did you use it in a desert or something?

  • The office it came from is a concrete floored tin shed. I've replaced a few of their machines and they were all pretty much the same.

  • Cool video.I'm gonna try to put my dusty computer right in the middle of a hurricane. But I have to put a tracker on the computer first XD

  • where can i get one of those??

  • An air compressor? Usually at a good hardware type shop.
