  • great piece of history.

  • Good Lord! They said that education goes limp in the US but I did not know that it was that bad! I. Italy is a republic since 1946 after the monarchy was abolished, under the House Savoy by Count Cavour. II. France protected the Pope since the days of Pepin the Short, father of Charles the Great. III. The French Army was not considerably weakened in Mexico but was badly commanded in the war against Prussia. IV. Austria and France were not allied and France neutral in 1866.

  • V. Neither the Prussian nor the Italians learned anything from the US, the War of Succession barley was noticed in Europe at its time and become only important in later studies due to the rise of the USA as global hegemony power. VI. There is no avail in whining about Prussia being protestant as Prussia was the state of religious tolerance (see Frederick the Great); only the rise of political Catholicism caused the Culture Fight. VI. The kingdom Prussia was created by Frederick I in 1701!

  • VI. House Hohenzollern received the March of Brandenburg in the year 1415 as a fief of the realm from the German emperor Sigismund VII. There was no state of war between Italy and France and thus no fighting, after the French troops had departed Rome the Italians occupied it VIII. The USA had nothing to do with the entire affair. IX. The Italians are entirely Catholic unto this day. X. The Pope is still the head of a sovereign state. XI. World War I was the result of many things but not the Pope

  • @GreatGrumbledook

yes pope is still the head of a simbolic state since 1929 (Lateran pacts) but in fact 20 September 1870 is the end of the true pope's temporal power! And in all italian cities we have a street called "Via XX settembre".

The end of the Papal State is a big bay for the birth of the modern and secular italian nation.

It is a big day also for all Catholics in the world: they can have a church that is only concerned whit religion because it is free from the temporal governement.

  • And as for the glorious new protestant empire of germany well 44 years later ww1 would start mainly because of the powerhungry kiaser willhem II remember your precious america fought against germany, but not from the begining, no they joined towards the end unlike france who fought the war from start to finish (not running for the hills that time) Also the great unified italy promised to join germany in the war but didn't, they waited till the end to see who would win then joined in.

  • also victor emmanuel didn't even care about southern italy, it was a backward place with no cultural or economic bennefit to him. He would have been quite happy to leave those people to their dictator, he only accepted south italy from garabaldi to avoid having garabaldi march onto rome which would involve the french and potentially spoil all of his plans. Victor emmanuel only fought easy battles and was scared of doing anything to upset the french. This man was not a hero.

  • There is no evidence that victor emmanuel was poisoned and 58 wasn't young in those days. Also your glorification of the new italian king is rubbish, cavour was the master behind italian unification and he did it with sneaky underhand tactits much like your protestant hero the warmungering bizmark. And as fir garibaldi, he liberated southern italy from a weak army who mostly ran from his army because they were dressed in red and believed to be british

  • What does the U.S flag have to do with the Liberation of Rome? I would have thought that the U.S was a idol type figure to them, seeing as the American revolution had sparked the majority of the European revoultions.

  • so unfair! Rome should belong to HH the pope, Rome will be reborn and it will belong again to the RCC!

  • cool..this was celebrated on my b'day!!

    W L'ITALIA!

  • Matheis interesting facts on the papacy. I just finished up on reading a book titled The inquisition by Michael Baigent and Richard Leigh.. I think, tho, that we should hold the cheer. I'll look up the verse but prophecy is talking about a beast that was wounded and seemed dead but rose again in the last days! I know it is Rome. Rome will rise again through the universal Church United Religions Organization... the ride continues! I hope to post a vid to explain soon.

  • Wow what a great video and there was me thinking Garibaldi was just a really nice type of biscuit.

    ;)

  • I am then and I am not denying it. Better that I can say about you. And by the way is not Peutro Ricans is Puerto Rican. And you're mixing manganese with magnesia.

  • Both, the Roman Church indeed commited crimes to the world, but nevertheless Pope John Paul II asked for forgivenss to the entire world community. The USA goverment have been lying not just to its citizens but breaking treaties with the indigenous people of this country and/ or ignoring with a complete blind eye the Soveirengty of a people/ country/ republic. Show proof that it was expired.

  • John Paul II was a nazi who worked at IG Farbin during WWII selling toxic gasses to the SS. It's not the "USA" government thats lying it's the "US" government you can't mix up the pre-1868 government with the post 1868 government. I don't need to show proof because the country was illegally invaded by the "Roman Catholic" "US" Empire.

  • Well, like in a court of law my friend. No evidence in order to proof your case that means that whatever you may say its irrelevant to the case.

  • the 14,15,16 amnedments are all the evidence we need none where fully ratified by congress not to mention the FEDERAL RESERVE ACT.

  • So to say it expired in 1898 im saying that's what the "US" government says. I do not even believe what they said and I feel Peutro Rico should no longer be a "Province" allthough it's not a state it's considered to be a province for the "US" roman catholic empire. And the dirty stinking Knight of Malta Theodore Roosevelt was involved in that whole deal.

  • Garcia, the dicree expired in 1898 when the "holy roman Catholic "US" empire" illegally invaded the country. So Puerto Rico is part of the "US" empire not the "USA" as in America. Two different countries. "US" is the Jesuit-roman catholic corporation and the "USA" is the Protestant-Calvanist Republic.

  • Regardless, U.S.A. Protestant Calvinist Republic/ Empire totally ignored the Royal Decree converting their Liberation into an Invation/ Colonization. and the decree didn't expired. It was null by the Protestan USA Goverment under president "Mckinley".

  • The USA Protestant Calvinist Republic was no longer around during 1898 it died out nearly 50 years before that event so you can't blame it on the USA nice try but you can blame it on the "US" Roman Catholic corporation" Real Christians are isolationist not imperialist like the fake Christians (Catholics)

  • USA Goverment is USA Goverment. And I just love the way men take the esay way to blame other before them instead than to accept their own mistakes and imperfections. 50 years before the so called Calvinist then massacred american indians with plagues in oder to take their lands, or make fake treates for than to be broken later on. As far I'm corncern sir you're just a narrow minded predujist. Just like the Nazis were against other non-aryan ehtnical group.

  • Ahhh no USA is not the same as the US nice try you obviously are not educated in politics or even history. If you even known real history (which you don't) you would know that the trail of tears and many of those Native Massacres where commited by the Jesuits & Roman Catholics. You are the narrow minded person you seem to be either to afraid or to ashamed to expose Roman Catholicism which has heavy influence with NAZIS IN WWII. Why you are afraid to expose them?

  • Educated in politic? Well, I never said that I was a politician, but have worked and lived enough as anAmerican Soldier with 23 yrs of military service to this nation to know that most people like yourself are just a bunch of coards that will rather speak behind pieces of paper, and be prejudist. By the way. Real History? I'm Living History.

  • And here's a good one for you. If you were the american president. What would you do then?

  • If you mean if I was in McKinleys shoes as president during 1898. I would of not invaded Cuba or Peutro Rico, or the Phillipines I would let the people of those nations declare there own independence. Secondly I would expell the Jesuit Order out of the country, open up a investigation on President Garfield, Lincoln, Taylor,Harrisons death to see the Jesuit connections to them.

  • And I notice since you like to bring up "native massacres" why don't you expose the Roman Catholic SMOM Spain who killed millions of Native Mexicans & Native south Americans? Or how the Jesuits enslaved Native Americans & Peutro Ricans with there "black ships"

  • John Adams, wrote to Thomas Jefferson "I do not like the late resurrection of the Jesuits. Shall we not have swarms of them here, in as many shapes and disguises as ever a gypsy king assumed. If any congregation of men could merit eternal perdition on earth and in hell, it is this company of Loyola."

  • The second 30 years war was 1914-1945 in which the Jesuits basicly destroyed all of protestant Europe.

  • While I'd heard about the reunification of Italy, I've never really looked into the history of it. Thanks for another informative video, Matheis. One wonders why they didn't turn the Vatican into a museum. Jesuit infiltration of the Italian patriot movement perhaps?

  • Good question, I really don't know but my theory is things all fell apart when King Emmanuel was poisend by the Jesuits. That brought all the patriots moral low. Then when WWI broke out that's what destroyed them. Basicly WWI was revenge and punishment to all the Protestants for opposing the Jesuits WWI was part of the 2nd 30 years war.
