  • When i shop at Harrods I can't help but feel I'm funding a terrorist organization in the middle east because of the owner... I fell like I'm unknowing buying blood diamonds or something..:( so sad but i also feel like Britain is letting middle eastern monsters invade just to keep a store like Harrods operational....

  • And Ana Al-Thani bought Harrods?

  • I love harrods.......and the fact that i can afford to shop there XD

  • @DellDoll15 no one cares ?...

  • very nice place.......to have krispy kreme doughtnuts

  • HEY MOHAMMAD AL-FAYAD IS 100% ARAB......DON'T BE FOOLED.........

  • I Love Harrods, I am having a presentation about Harrods do u know anything special about the shop? Thanks.

  • @brocolie1806 Good luck with your presentation, I would look on wikipedia for info:)

  • Thats looks so cool!! *_*

Are you allowed to take video of inside?

When I was there i took sneaky photos because I wasn't sure if it was allowed or not, though at some counters it did say no photography.

I have never been to London or Harrods of London during xmas :"(

  • @DeadlyTeaParty I use a Flip camera and it is very discreet to film with:)

  • Dear ajpadbury,

I was browsing through the comments and all of them (except the rude/mean ones) had a reply from you! I truly think that it is very considerate, polite, kind and generous to give up time to answer them. Thank you very much!

    from arielleashleymiley

  • @arielleashleymiley Thank you for taking the time to comment and watch the video, I am always happy to reply if the comment is a fair one! Best wishes:)

  • @arielleashleymiley I loved this video and its store. I lived in England 3 yrs, and once here;Scottish men in kilts played their pipes, ALL THE WAY UP THOSE ESCALATORS. What a great memory, I love this store. I want to go home

  • Love Harrods.. could never afford anythig from there but its such a lovely shop!

  • @TARAWELSH Thanks for commenting, usually we just get something small as a gift!

  • when was this

  • @tijani98 A year ago.

  • @ajdpadbury two years ago

  • I was in London on a schooltrip and when me and some of my friends tried to get into harrods one of the guards didnt let us in. Now whats the deal with that? We tried to ask him but he just said that we were not allowed.

  • @ginowowful I have heard they stop school children going inside, must be their policy, a bit unfair!

  • @ajdpadbury but they do let school children in with their parents right??? Thats why they have childrenswear!

  • magnificent shopping high as the sky!!!! no wonder they shop in America!!! lol

THATS ONE HECK OF A DEPARTMENT STORE!!! GORGEOUS AND HASN'T CHANGED SINCE I WAS THE SHOPPING IN THE 80'S!!!!

OH, THE DODI AND DIANA THINGIE WASN'T THERE

  • @AKQJ40 The store has a new owner now, maybe the took down the Diana and Dodi display, that is a shame.

  • Just got back from London. Amazing city!

  • @frank22202 I am glad you enjoyed your trip:)

  • 0:02

  • Is it expensive there? Are there lots of these stores around the UK? I want to go shopping at the best department stores in the UK when I got visit Europe in January 2011! What do you recommend for clothes, makeup, bags etc? I'm from Australia

  • @helenbubz There is only one Harrods department store, but I think there are smaller stores at airports etc. If you want items that you can't but anywhere else then of course they are expensive, but I would go and have a browse around! The main shopping area in London is Oxford Street though and there are several department stores there:)

  • @helenbubz and remember to dress smartly otherwise they won't let you IN!!!

  • Just wonderin'..how the heck did you film in Harrods!?! People tried to film and got taken out by sercurity!

  • I went to Harrods the other day......it was just what you call awesome!

  • I wish I lived in the UK... NZ is great but not as exciting.

  • @HMservant Thanks for commenting, I hope you get to visit London one day:)

  • @ajdpadbury Well I'm aiming to attend the LSE (far-fetched I know) so it can only be a matter of years away! =)

  • London is beautiful. I am very lucky as I have the privilege to live in such a fantastic city.

  • @hyped999 You are indeed lucky!

  • Harrods looks lovely. I have never in my life seen anything like it. I doubt anything here in America can compare to this gorgeous place! I wish I lived in London! This place is gorgeous!

  • @MsSandra217 Thanks for commenting, I hope you get to see Harrod for yourself one day!

  • @ajdpadbury You're so very welcome. And Thank you, I truly hope to see Harrods for myself! I love it. :)

  • @MsSandra217

you'll need a spare couple of 1000 to shop there though

  • @JoshRobertson142 1000 dollars?

  • @MsSandra217

no last time i checked they don't take American money in Britain. the shit in their is really expensive.

  • @JoshRobertson142 oh. so, what kind of money does Britain have?? :|

haha, i bet it is! it must be better than a mall, though. unless it IS a mall?! :/

  • i miss london..i wanna go bck there is can i wanna stay there hehe

  • me and five friends weren't allowed in because we were in a group. When I asked if it was because we were young adults the guard got really aggressive >.>

  • harrods is gr8 i go shoppin they every mondayy the service iss fantastic with my dad (by hanna) 13 yr old

  • @sevythecool you also buy there every monday?? And why monday??? don't you have school? Just wonderin.....

  • Lovely store, the people there really are friendly, a pleasant place to shop.

  • @xUNKNOWNSH4DOWx Thanks for your comment, the service at Harrods is great!

  • The funny thing about that is that i went to London on a school trip too. :D we all got in though :) The trick is to walk in one by one. First time we tryed they did not let us because the guard remembered us .. so we tryed another entrance :D worked just fine . I cant forget it guys ! The chilling cold and the taste of hot chocolate . Love the taxis too.

  • @Bictorasss That sounds like a very good tip!

  • I love Harrods, go quite often went to London on a school trip back last year I walked straight in easily

but everyone claimed the security wouldn't let my class mates in so I was only one who got to go in :P

  • @macnerd93 I am glad you got in, the security does not like groups going in.

  • @ajdpadbury yeah thats what my class mates said, I walked in on my own & then got lost ha ha, it is honestly quite confusing, I was lost in the staircase area for about half an hour, I did manage to see a 110'' Plasma TV though in the gadget department

  • I've been in every place where camera man was..

I'm still dreaming to revisit this place.

  • @ImJustSayin9 I hope you get to visit again some day:)

  • AL Fayed--the Egyptian mogul owner of this store (who just sold it to Qatar royal family) spent 400 millions in renovations and made a piece of egyptian glorious temples inside! WOW! So proud i share same egyptian blood!

  • @missalexandriaegypt I am pleased that he kept the store a wonderful place:)

  • ive been there and it took me a week to get everywhere

  • @germino777 Hehe I am not surprised, it is vast!

  • this place just sold for 1.2 Billion pounds

  • @nilpatforu

1.5 Billion. I bet the BNP are in a uproar about this lol.

  • It's my understanding that an half-man half-beast like creature has lived in the tunnels of Harrods for over 100 years?

  • @dahoss65 LOL I doubt it!

  • it is well known that the owner of Harrods is the Egyptian bussinese man Mohamed Al fayed and his son Emad or (Dody) was a boyfreind of Diana queen of england and he decided to marry her and live in Alexandria Egypt after Diana waiver from the throne but after some days he and she have been killed (newyork times news paper / alahram egyptian newspaper)

  • it looks like a museum. is it because the former owner was a egyptian businessman?

  • @initdialog It may not have some across that well in the video, it is well lit and quite modern inside.

  • There is a guy who has worked as a Saturday boy at Harrods for 24 years. He is Sanjay and works in golf shop.

  • That is a long time to work anywhere:)

  • nice video :D very dramatic music! Harrods looks amazing

  • Thanks, Harrods is worth a visit!:)

  • Not the same decorations... This year Harrod's was green :P

  • Green would look cool outside.

  • @ajdpadbury

It had green lights outside this November ^^

  • The Egyptian escalator is worth 20 million quid

  • Okaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaai Nice.

  • Thanks!

  • i got candy from the owner a long time ago and he still knows me but he past away

  • That must have been a very long time ago.

  • wow would love to go there someday and see that in person!

thanks so much for the video:-)laura lynn

  • Sorry for the late reply, thanks for your comment!:)

  • How much is the Egyptian Staircase worth? Must be a lot!

  • I am sure it is!:)

  • well put misstowerofpower, these rich dudes store in the uk nothing but a stinking money grabbing, low moralled house of depravity, your right fur and its trim is the height of bad taste in the 21st century, staff at harrods should hang ther weak necks in shame for letting these sales go ahead and 94massari is a dick head, get some balls of compassion, 'you STFU', misstowerofpower tells it real

  • Harrods da only store in England 2 gwan selling fur an fur trim, Al Fayed says dat be a way 2 make dem big bucks, he a cold hearted supporter of gods creatures being enslaved tortured an murdered 4 dem skins in the name of false vanity, blacks and whites including decent asians must be against dis 21st century barbaricy, check dem fur farm vidz on da youtube 2 c wot Harrods an lowlife peoples tink b acceptable ta pay 2 keep de animal holocaust going, na respec, fur da height of bad taste

  • STFU BROKE ASS

  • @94massari whether you are rich or not, that isn't the deal here. it's animal cruelty that is the deal.

  • @fanatic114

I know there is only one.

En ik ben van Nederland trouwens :P

  • @fanatic114

He means like: "this is only in London, England, U.K.?"

  • everyone check out laduree. absolute heaven!

  • i assume there is just one store of Harrods? I have heard of it but still never been across the pond to London. Unless I win the Lotto...

  • There is only one department store but most airports have small gift stores:)

  • @ThePadburys

    And indeed also that ;)

  • @garycalgary

It isn't that expensive to go there, if you come from Europe, by boat?

Harrods... Well the real shop is in London, it is the one and only. They had one in Argentinia, but that stopped under the Harrods company, yet it still has the same name.

  • it can be done cheaply we are going ina few weeks from Toronto and the whole trip cost me 1100 fight and hotel look for the deals they are out there :)

  • @garycalgary or you could be a pilot :P

  • lub to shop here but cnt afford yet :P

  • Looking around is all I do!:)

  • I bought not much, that also works (bear in a green bag, harrods pen set in a weird glassy box, lol.

  • Last Year around christmas i had to write a web based article about Harrods department store, the info on the Harrods page did'nt say much about cheeses, although, i couldnt find it, only cheese knifes.

Anyway, had to write also about the restaurants, like howmany, details, and why you want to visit every restaurant.

"If you see me walk, or roll, out of the donutshop, that shop has nothing to sell till the next delivery." :-p

  • Thanks for commenting, regarding the dining options they have tried to attract a younger audience with their "candy room" as we like to call it, right by the Food Hall but at least they still have the oyster bar!:)

  • wow so amazing!! I wish I could go to London.

  • I hope you get to visit some day!:)

  • thanks.. got to work hard and save money so that I can visit London =)

  • london is amazing really . but it's so Expensive

  • i live in london. I wish i could go to America. lol!

  • If Holland will do, could we switch please? :P

Well, in 4 years, in my last year of studying at high school.... I probably will finish school if I'm rich enough by that time in South-Africa or London... Both pretty different places, but nevermind xD

  • I was referring to the whole place, not just that part, which has always been hideous

  • Only your opinion, some would say it was luxurious and opulant.

  • How is it only my opinion, you mean 100% of the world thinks this is Luxurious and opulant, calculations a bit wrong there.

  • I thought you said the staircase was hideous?

  • '' knightsbridge '' is very royel and luxurious in london

  • What have they done to this place, OMG, looks more like a museum than a shop

  • It is a museum really but a museum of shopping. There are things in Harrods you will NEVER see anywhere else. a Million Pound Snooker Table a, a Hummer Golf Cart and so much more.

  • What about the pink Unicorn on Roller skates, ive heard they have that in stock, i believe they have it no where else.

  • It's kind of meant to :)

  • The meat hall is nothing of what it used to be when we were in charge there!

  • Thanks for commenting, I worked in Fortnum and Mason in Provisions so I guess we were rivals!:)

  • I really wish I'm able to visit there someday! I'm going to move to London in future, atm i'm studying vocational qualification in business and administration. so i might be salesman there someday, who knows. :D

    But wow damn, it's amazing!

  • Thanks for your comment and I wish you good luck in the future!:)

  • Is Harrods the place where all is really really expensive or are there some things at a moderate price?

  • They sell things you can't get on the high street generally, all the exclusive items.

  • ajdpadbury, so you mean regular poor people things are not sold there but what does high street means is it that regular poor people things are sold mostly in the streets? I mean because I have tried to fing poor people stores in London on google MAps and I can not find much I mean here in North America you go to this building called a store and you buy thinhs cheap or at moderate prices like a supermarket for instance you can find 10 lbs. chicken legs for a low as $3.90 for the 10 lbs. miami,FL

  • I mean you can get specialist, designer items in Harrods. If you want regular goods you should head for Oxford Street.

  • Supermarkets: Sainsbury's, Tesco and Asda perhaps?

  • jesusfreakmusic, what I mean is unlike here in America I have failed to find a single supermarket and their site so I can browse their weekly ad. I mean I have searches all over google maps.

  • i went to harrods last month!! and was amazing!! i love london!!

  • Thankd for your comment, it is a very cool place!:)

  • i went there and saw ronan keating!! from boyzone!!

  • Thanks for your comment!:)

  • Photography is banned in the store but many people ignore this. I work in Harrods at night and get to see parts of the store the general public dont. Amazing building and huge when there is no one around.

  • I bet going behind the scenes is really interesting, thanks for your comment:)

  • I didn't knew it was that forbidden... Lol: I made photo's/video's of the guys showing kid toys in the toys department... XD

Ofcourse I knew photography was forbidden in St. Pauls so I only got 3 inside pictures... But never uploaded them, hehe...

  • They sell bars of gold there at the moment, i bought 3 ;)

  • Ok cool!:)

  • @CharIiePresents your kidding right?

  • i was there last saturday shopping

  • Thanks for your comment:)

  • I'm not sure but I remember seeing a watch that had £250000 as a price tag on it

If anybody else saw it please tell me cause it's been a while and I wanna know for sure

  • I did not see it but I would not be surprised!:)

  • Bently Breitling at £276,000

  • i've been here that summer and when we got in the security didn't say anything... and we were having our bags on.. the man who was standing there at least sisn't look at us.. but some of my friends had problems who went in bigger groups in..

  • Thanks for commenting, he must have thought you looked like you would spend money!

  • i ve been in and im only 16 years old the security only asked me to put my bag in my hands and not on my bag :P they are way too expensive for me anyway

  • Yes, they always ask me to do that too!:)

  • xD i was there with school me and a friend of mine were the only kids of school who were allowed in

  • @rockboy12346 why dont they go with parents

  • @arielleashleymiley we were there without parents, i'm not from England

  • when I was there with my class (we had a class outing ) we weren't allowed to enter, because we were only 16- 18 years old.. what a crap.. =((

  • That is a shame, you will love it when you are older I am sure!:)

  • its a fucking maze.

  • A great shop.

    Love it.

  • Thanks for commenting:)

  • I worked at Harrods for 15 years (1975-1990) - fabulous store and fabulous place to work (except the IRA bomb explosion in 1983 and Mohamed Al Fayed's acquisition in 1985)!

  • Thanks for commenting, I can image the IRA bomb explosion being a scary time. I worked in Fortnum and Mason on Provisions for a few months in 2000 so I can relate to working in such a fine place:)

  • I'm going to London next week - 21 September - and are planning to visit Harrods. I do have some questions and I was wondering if you could tell me about it.

Is it allowed to take pictures? If it isn't, do you get trouble by doing it? Like being kicked out or something?

I read somewhere that you can get your gifts wrapped in, does this cost anything?

I hope you can tell me. As I'm looking forward to it. Your video has really made me nervous for it even more.

  • Thanks for commenting, I hope you have a good time in London!

Everyone takes photos, no problem, just snap away! I have never been stopped!

As for gift wrap, yes there is a service for that and they ship all over the world, they are famous for their hampers. I am not sure on the charge though.

  • They are really expensive... lol... :P

  • LOL...thats your opinion and your entitled to it.

    have a nice day!

  • i worked here before for like 2 years, got acked for bonin a honey on the dfs sofas

  • You sir, Are a Liar, a person that Lies.

  • i love harrods ... it got Hornby train models and electric guitars omg omg

  • Thanks for commenting, it has everything!:)

  • I used to spend hours in it just watching people, enjoying a cappuchino and didn't spend very much $ for that privledge. Its such fun. Great prices on old DVDs too.

  • You are right, a great place to people-watch!:)

  • oooh full of eygptian sarcophagus ..... i am sure theres no thief lol

  • I think they are replicas!:)

  • ya know people, once you enjoy Harrods and I have many times, it makes a "Mall" in America quite small and so typical. And I'm an American!

  • Thanks for commenting, Harrods is over the top but we like to tour it as tourists too!:)

  • I love the food court. You know what, I find the price cheap to my surprise. But I guess it depends to what kind...I love Chinese-Thai foods.

  • Thanks for your comment, yes you can pick up some things at a reasonable price there:)

  • now this is what i call CLASS!

    very nice video!

  • Thanks, thanks also for your subscription!:)

  • your very welcome..i LOVE England..its one of the classiest places on earth!

  • I went there last week: amazin'!! loooove it <3
