I live acroos the country in the middle of now where and in a town of about 1500 the only one that is into bleach and the only other people that are even into anime are guys that all they do is fight over who is right and who is wrong.....
So you're around 13 or so? Your parents don't suck, they're protective of you because that's what parents do. My dad was the same. I started going to conventions at 16. I didn't get to go alone until I was 20. But cheer up! There are conventions in Houston! Go to Oni-con and Anime Matsuri are there!

You have nooo idea. XD I was dressed as Ikkaku, and after we played in the waterfountains, I ran back to the hotel to dry off. So a dripping wet bald girl in martial arts robes gets SERIOUS 'WTF's from people. XDDD
