Not always, and not if you do them right... One has to learn to differentiate between demonstration and actuality. Beside that the old Masters didn't/don't show you the whole thing if you aren't a student of some standing.
Please don't be too terribly critical if you haven't been there or felt it for real. ;0
@talon115 - Those "wide techniques" are for the purpose of demonstration. In actually, they're very tight, very "inside", and the objective is that your opponent doesn't see them coming.
Do you have any clue as to who you are watching in this video? I guess not. Words cannot describe your stupidity so i will sink to your level and tell you I watched you spar on your video and well your NOT a martial artist to be honest even in point sparring you suck.
of course i know who it is. simply because i dont understand what a seemingly simple front stomp is doing, other than obvious principles involved.. does not mean i'm stupid. i am a martial artist, and yes my point sparring sucks. keyboard warriors don't bother me. have a nice day :)
Now i know where Donald Trump got his hair style inspiration from...And overcoming inertia is no big secret by the way...its just biomechanically correct...Ed Parker didn't develop it.
Yes I was aware of the "stomp" for quite a while although not from Parker.Yes it does generate power but I won't say how, just for us fighters to know lol
funny you say that. Mr. Parker knocked out many on trhe streets of the big Island developing these techniques.. LOL

Its called a PAM. (Platform ALigning Mechanism) When and how you do it should be a part of basics. It's not as easy as it looks.
