I normally don't like it when scenes are added to books I love, but this particular scene was a stroke of pure genius by Danny DeVito. It fits into the film so well. It's amazing how terrifying a character Pam Ferris manages to make the Trunchbull on this film. It takes it to another level than it does in the book.

Sam Peckinpah should have directed this movie. At the end, instead of just getting pelted with fruit & humiliated by the kiddies, they would have opened up on the Trunchbull with automatic weapons, straight razors and/or chainsaws. Then the old hag would be gang-raped by the entire 3rd Marine Division.
