Dude are you serious...have you even used the MX Revolution. I'm starting to think that if it isn't apple $#!* you don't know what you are talking about.

1. MX Revolution HAD THE HYPER-SCROLL FIRST WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!!!!!? You make it seem as if they just F***ing added that $#!* when they made the Performance

2. MX can track over multiple surfaces also!!! I've used mine on everything from carpet to running on top of my pants leg.

But, at least you have a pretty high quality video.

The hyperscroll wheel was actually present in the "revolution" also.. strange you didnt know about that.. plus it worked way better cause it had an automatic function that they removed from the "performance". The differences are. Revolution=Auto hyperscroll wheel, thumbscroll, "stealth" battery indicator. Performance=darkfield,use while charging. In numbers revolution 7 buttons, performance 5. I prefer revolution. :( After 3,5 years I broke mine by accident and cant find a new one anywhere.

Hey. @SoldierKnowsBest I have a question for you! I bought this MX performance mouse. After reading and seeing so many great views on this. And I have plugged in the usb wireless thing. And it works. But none of the functions work because it won't let me install the software. I have a new 15" macbook pro, with a core i7 processor and Mac OS X Snow Leopard. I have tried downloading the software off the logitech website... and that wouldnt open either. What should I do? thanks

Why are you comparing the revolution to the performance? In the title you said this is a review, not a comparison. For someone like me who has never owned the revolution, I don't really care which one is better because the revolution has been discontinued.

He basically talked about the new features and how they have been improved/changed compared to an older version. That way you get to see the new features and how they've involved into their current state as well. If you've never owned the Revolution simply focus at the features and see exactly how Logitech has modified the Performance.

I have a question about this mouse. I have used the MX Revolution up to this point, but I upgraded to the Performance Mouse MX. For some reason, every so often the mouse shuts down and the cursor stops moving. It only starts up again if I take out the receiver and plug it back in. I have read a lot of reviews of the mouse where people complain about it shutting itself off for a few seconds ever so often.

Has this happened with you? And if so, is there a way to fix it?

Pretty good review apart from the hand gesture at the end is used to effectivel say "fuck off" and not to say "peace". Also, would have been a better comparison if you didn't have the camera at an angle because it just looked like the performance mouse was much bigger. I like this mouse but I wish the scroll-wheel mechanism was still there or if the mechanical switch was on the bottom rather than where the sear button used to be.

The way the footage has been skewed really doesn't allow an accurate comparison, especially regarding the size of the mouse - the revolution looks almost half the size of the MX when it is actually about the same size. Apart from that, it's not a bad review.

The PMX mouse is great for those who have big hands, like me. Its a huge mouse so it will feel confortable.

I also tried out the Anywhere MX mouse (which looks identical to the VX nano) and its really small.

For OS X the Logitech G5/7/9 (i am not sure how god they work but i hear a lot of good things about the compatibility with OS X) is the best...if you are on Windows i prefer the Roccat Kone...if you need a mouse that is 100% compatible go to Online Apple Store and then to Mac Accessories->Mice & Keyboards

Firstly let me say you get what you pay for. i Have never has ANY issues with Logitech products what so ever.

the new mouse is decent although i have gotten to attached to the wheel on the side of the older model (i have programmed it to zoom). Although what im wondering is cant you make the mouse work with the internal blue tooth in the laptop.

Receivers have always been a deal-breaker with me in the past, but the Performance Mouse MX is too amazing of a mouse to pass up for lack of Bluetooth. This is arguably the best mouse in the world, and since its receiver is so small, the lack of bluetooth isn't a problem. If you use the Apple keyboard with this mouse side-by-side, the receiver will fit fine in the keyboard and you can completely forget it's there. Also if you use it on a notebook, it won't bug you at all like Soldier mentioned.
