The speaker is correct that the Quran says that it is wrong to kill an innocent life. But I wonder if that "innocent life" is subject to interpretation just like Shariah Law is subject to interpretation and may be dealt with differently in different countries. I just wanted to clarify some things. First of all the verse your referring to does not imply killing all non muslims. You have to look at the context of when it was revealed. It was referring to those that reverted away from Islam, because in those times if you weren't Muslim you were part of the Quraish (tribe in Mecca at the time of the emergence of Islam) who wanted to kill all the Muslims. SO when the people reverted from Islam they joined the Quraish and tried to kill
muslims. It was referring to this situation, not anything else. And besides when Islam was first introduced Muslims weren't allowed to fight back even in self defense. I understand the misconception the same can be applied to

The speaker is correct that the Quran says that it is wrong to kill an innocent life. But I wonder if that "innocent life" is subject to interpretation just like Shariah Law is subject to interpretation and may be dealt with differently in different countries. I believe this subject of interpretation must be met with a full dialogue. Sweet words are like perfume, but the chemicals that make it up are deadly.
