Interesting. Of course failure to let the US Gov. access to encrypted data is a federal offence so your data is accessible. You may not mind that but your clients might.
I wish the lens was as clean as those Mac monitors! :o)
I cannot yet understand how this is different from Livedrive. I have an "L Drive" on all my computers. I have signed up for the beta and hope to be able to compare soon. I also don't understand how I can get access to a file instantly. It has to get to my computer some how. I don't think there was any technical description of how this is possible. For me, right now, that sounds like marketing BS. I guess we will find out.
You can not render a video with a file through your broadband connection.. no way no how... and the bullshit about connectivity on a plane is not part of reality
If encryption is done by the client, doesn't that make all duplicate content from different users unqiue? When Robert asked about storage, he seemed to hint that duplicate content would be stored only once. Is this not in contradiction?
@vzzzbx13 There's a concept called "convergence encryption," where you derive the encryption key from the file itself. The same key will be generated by the same file every single time, no matter who has a copy of that file. This allows them to perform data deduplication, while still maintaining client-side encryption without having access to the keys.
It's not *totally* anonymous though. They can't decrypt, but they know who has the same files.
Oh one more thing....when signing up for the beta, I found it weird that they say "space is extremely limited". After all.....they are trying to sell you on the fact that they offer an"infinite amount of space".

BS - impossible. instant is not possible. 100GB file still takes actual time to access. what does he mean instant?

@EmotionRadio I imagine they meant space in the beta, as in number of users they can expect to test the product before a full launch.

@britishcoder Yes, I agree but from a marketing perspective.....they could have used a different message. LoL.

Tried to sign up now but I guess they're not quite ready yet. Had to "sign up" for a Beta. I'm ready to pay. I'm sold.....let's go. LoL
