    impressive.

and what are those spots on her face. thats not what Melanoma looks like.

    bitch, go see a dermitologist.

    dumb ass commercial

  • Everything is good in moderation. Yes the sun gives off need vitamin D, but it also has many harsh side effects if you are out for too long of a period without sunscreen. Some of these side effects include looking older, and skin cancer. I'm proud to be pale, and have sunscreen on, because in the end I know that I'm not going to be part of some percentage of people who die from over-exposure.

  • LAVAKAVA: Your statement that "if you don't use spf40 or higher sunscreen, you will get cancer" is ludicrous and based on nothing but your ill informed opinion. It is not simple science and most evidence points to the benefits of the sun, not the hazards, which are minimal, if you use common sense. Adequate sun exposure prevents many types of cancer as well as M.S. and diabetes. Do your research and get your head out of your ass and into the sun where it should be.

  • @blabblab1212 Also that term "get your head out of your ass" is a very terrible thing to use. It shows unwillingness to negotiate and creates this terrible arrogance. What ever happened to politely showing that someone differs in opinion or fact?

  • LAVAKAVA: You don't know your ass from a hole in the ground!! All people (including Europeans) need a sensible amount of sun exposure to produce adequate vitamin D levels in the blood. Using a sunscreen with spf 40 or higher is ridiculous and would prevent any vitamin D formation in your body at all. Europeans and light skinned people can be exposed to the summer sun for a half hour a day with no ill effects which will produce adequate vitamin D.

  • @blabblab1212 You don't need that much time outside to get enough vitamine D. the lighter your skin, the less you will need. You can also take vitamine pills with vitamine D. But your body will also absorb vitamine D when you're outside in the shadow with sunscreen. You shouldn't think tanning is healthy because of the vitamine D, because the dangers are bigger than the benefits.

  • @cheristina You need at least a half hour a day, 3 times a week in the summer noon, preferably around solar noon to build up adequate Vitamin D reserves. Also after exposure it is best to wait 24 hours to bathe with soap as this removes the Vitamin D before it can be absorbed into the skin.

  • @blabblab1212 that doesn't mean you have to sunbath, you can also get some sunlight when your cycling to school or whatever.

  • @cheristina That's true. You can get some sun bicycling to school in shorts and a t-shirt. But sunbathing a couple of times a week gives your body maximum exposure to Vitamin D.

  • @blabblab1212 you don't need to wear a t-shirt or shorts. I'm 16 year old and I've never worn something else then long trousers and I've never had any illnes. That's because I get enough vitamin D.

  • @blabblab1212 I believe you are the uninformed one. A form of Vitamin D is formed by chemical reactions in your skin, and can not be "washed off". This advertisement is about tanning bed and sun safety. Quite often, people get too much sun and a sunburn which greatly outweighs the benefits of getting enough Vitamin D3. You can easily get most of your Vitamin D from nutrition. People not getting enough Vitamin D is barely a problem, but skin cancer and sun burns is!

  • UV rays from tanning beds mutate the DNA in our skin cells, often irrepairably and breaks up the elastin fibers that give skin a youthful appearance. This leads to increased risk of skin cancers and a 100% risk of premature aging of the skin (wrinkles, leathery-type skin, increased pore size, etc.). Don't believe it? Look at the skin of faithful tanners when they are 40 years old.

  • it might be more effective if they had actually used a real victim instead of some actor with bad makeup...

  • I agree. Darker foundation and bronzer? Seriously?

  • This is a propaganda video designed to persuade you to avoid sun exposure and designed to persuade you to use sunscreen. Do not believe this crap. It is a lie. Sensible sun exposure WITHOUT SUNSCREEN is good for you and your children. It is necessary for good health.

  • you are only partly right. if you are a normally dark skinned person (south indian, black, etc), then a bit of sun exposure is good for you and melanin will protect your skin from sun-induced cancer.

if you are a pale skinned person (european, certain east asians, certain south americans), then beware! use sunscreen with spf40 or higher...or else die of cancer.

its simple science...melanin = dark pigment = good.

white skin isn't superior like the colonists want us to believe.
