we actually change our strings after every show, no matter if the guitar was used in the show or not. i'm guessing that his pickups failed, since he uses vintage PAF pickups. also because angus sweats so much, it's lake an acid to his whole guitar, including the electrics.

Omg yes he did change guitars, just watch the video, you see him run off to the side of the stage and then come back with a different guitar, and you can also tell because when he stops playing Malcolm kicks in and his guitar tone is alot heavier than Angus', he did switch it dude.
