sorry for the many comments, i make them during the video, and the water creates ALOT of resistance so it is harder to push and is more prone to slinky the coil, also it will handle more power because the water will keep the coil cold and it probobly be able to handle an excess +1000 watts because the water is always cooling it, you should try that out :D

@kittyfanatic1980 The amp is pushing 12 volts DC to the sub. You have 12 volts running to the unprotected leads to your fuel pump in your gas tank. There isn't enough voltage to jump the gap of the leads. If it were higher voltage it would jump the gaps and kill the amp.

@TheGRIPCore i dont think any thing will happen it just depends on if ur subwoofer has a paper cone then it wont play good anymore. if ur sub has a non paper cone then it should be fine. :D

For a start, you'll never see a paper cone and foam surrounds on a Marine speaker of any kind, also the frame will either be a composite material, or be metal with a corrosion resistant coating.

The things that I would worry about with this woofer are:

1.) Color.

The cone and surround are black, which will absorb heat and *create cracks and dry rot* (not sure if they included this in their product design.)

2.) Dry rotting.

Sure, they sprayed it with water and submerged it... but you could do that with any woofer. I want to see the LASTING effects of water on the surround.

If it passes those 2 specifications, then I would call it a done deal and begin selling it... :D

You would hear it the same as if you put your head right next to the water's surface, because your eardrum isn't touching the sound medium (the water.)

Water ~ air sound medium transfer makes it muffled and quiet because the water and air have different resonant patterns, and also water takes much more power to move because it is heavier.

... but if you could get the water into your ear and have it touching your eardrums, then maybe it would sound loud / clear. Hard to say :)
