The only difference is that it wasn't something forced on them, it broke up on it's own. I do agree that Russia should have paid a bigger price. And it WAS THEM who ended up with the wall. Germany was broken up at the close of WW2 and that wouldn't have happened had NAZI Germany not attacked the SU unprovoked.

Today much of our manufacturing has been outsourced and those jobs are no longer available here in the US. We are now a nation of consumers who work in low paying service jobs. We do manufacture some damn fine weapons of war though, but if you are injured by one of these weapons, or in any other way, good luck getting proper medical treatment if you aren't already financially wealthy.

The Berlin Wall was constructed by Stalins Russia to force the Americans out of Berlin. The Americans wanted to rebuild Germanys economy so Germany could become independent again. Russia wanted to punish the Germans. So the Americans began flying food to the Germans after the wall started starving them out. This caused relations between the USSR and US to sour. So, it's part of US history too. A major part, actually. It's their business also.
