  • oops sry i didnt mean to send the pentagon video to your page. i hit the wrong button as i was tryin to send the other 2.

  • pure vegetable oil from the store? whoa, now that is cool. I know there are people who get used (and free) frying grease from restaurants, filter it, and use that in their diesel engines, so theoretically you could run your car for zero cost.

  • Nice car...so the "D" is for diesel, I'm guessing? So you could use biodiesel if its available and have a sustainable car, cool.

I do know about TheModernMystic and Peak Oil and the more people become aware of just how scarce oil is becoming the more hybrid cars will become a necessity. The sooner the better!

  • automobiles make up some certain percentage of the US's pollution... dont knwo the numbers but it is nothing compared to pollution created by agriculture and industry.

  • zzz33333 - Hmmm. I'm not buying that, myself. Let's say you have a 240g/km (Europe!) car. That means a kilo of particulate carbon every couple of miles...times what, 200 million cars across Europe? That sounds like quite a contributor to me.

Good work for bringing this up Cliff. It's an area where plausible electric choices are just around the corner. If the oil lobby will let us, we can clean up the air. About damn time!

  • *just around the corner* -- I wish I could be so optimistic, but maybe I just need to be more patient, things are changing very rapidly, with new announcements being made on a nearly daily basis.

  • "sustainable cars" is an oxymoron

  • time to wake up zzzleepyhead

  • wake up to what? the beauty of technology?

technology is what is failing. industry is what is failing. not "carbon outputs"

why do we need cars? where do we need to go?

why does anybody need a car?

why do human beings need cars at all?

  • hmmm, going backward is going to be a really hard sell, good luck with that Zack. Personally, I do like technology and even though we have gotten ourselves into a bit of a pickle, I also know there are a lot of really intelligent people out there working on a viable solution. I think its just a matter of time before we solve the problems. The real question is -- will the solutions come quick enough?
