  • Let me take that back the world is covered by 3/4 of water and growing rapidly due to Global warming. Intresting note that when Hyrogen, Methane or LP is used in combustion engines they extend the life of the engine by double due to no carbon deposites in the oil or black slime built up in the intakes. Another intresting thing is why dont we run Methane and even more intresting chemical make of Propane is 98 percent Methane. Only 2 percent of it makes it propane.

  • A OPEC offical has so much power they could literaly walk down the street whip out a full armed machine gun and mow everyone down and wouldnt do one day of jail time and get this wouldnt even be late for supper.

  • Hydrogen also has more potential as in more bang for the buck. We can make high power engines from very small displacment engines making things lighter more efficent all around reducing carbon foot print. 3/4 of the entire planet is covered in Water makes you wonder why we worry about water shortages and why we havent converted everything over to hydrogen. The country is run by OPEC mafia which we give them to much power when all we have to do is diversify our energy sources.

  • So if this electric motorcycle costs 12,000$,then i can buy almost new gas motorcycle for 3000$ +1000$ for tax and shit like that and i can drive with whats left of the cash 8000$ for a pretty long time.

  • @daswada9 Until people like make life impossible for the human being, wich is an upcoming reality, not a theory anymore... R-tard

  • @daswada9

Try explaining that to mother earth, im sure she'll understand:)

  • @TheSaltyAdmiral do you really think that the oil companies give a fuck ?!

I think the future is hydrogen, because you don't have to wait for hours to fill up and the hydrogen is the most abundant element in hour planet and univarse.

  • 99 percent of all motorcycles do disappear in the first 5 years

  • not sounds like bike!...sounds like F1 :P

  • And just how much do you have to pay for the burning coal electricity to charge these things? They are NOT environmentally friendly. THink about where the electricity comes from.

  • @MrDarinWarren The electricity to refine the petrol you use is about twice as much as the electricity to run these bikes. Probably more really. Takes about 7kWh to refine a litre of petrol. 7kWh would take this bike over 100 miles

  • When will Brammo be supported by Best Buy or a dealer in Florida?

  • I like it!

  • Susan please sit on my face

  • The dumb bitch interviewer? my god

  • Now is noisy.

  • Why not an HUB MOTOR ?!?!?! WHY ???

  • @mptrax Yes, Hub Motors are truly nice because of the Efficiency and Silence of a gearless direct drive, but they also have considerable Disadvantages:

First of all, they contribute to the Unsprung weight, and also shift the Center of gravity backwards, both not too nice.

Then they are more difficult to construct, because the need to contain the Bearings and turn slower. This also makes them larger. And Cables get longer.

But after all it is a decision the engineers made for some reason.

  • This is cool as shit, and I would buy one, but the price is too high. I can't even come close to affording this as a student. I make barely half the price of this bike in a summer of work.

  • well done mate, hope your company thrives

  • That lady doesnt know anything about bikes. 11k isn't that much... some Harleys cost much more.

  • What's the license requirement for this in the US?

  • @atokombeled I'm guess its the same as any motorcycle

  • 11k???? no thanks!

  • expensive, slow, doesn't go too far with a charge (and you can't find a recharging place on a road...). there is still A LOT of evolution needed to exchange gas bikes for such thing.

  • @rafaelbdb2 Not expensive, total cost of ownership is much lower than a gas bike. Depends what you mean by "far", it goes 42 miles. If you recharge while at your destination it can go 80 miles in a day. Compared to the average daily travel in the US of 29 miles it goes nearly 3 times further. You can find recharges on the road, they rode one all the way across america.

  • um i want a clutch..

  • 45mph? that sucks their is better out their

  • @RangoDurango they said 55 mph top speed and can travel 45 miles on one 4 hour charge. 11,995 is a very steep price. better off getting an electric scooter. they're like one tenth that price.

  • @bobbyd7085 for the same price there is also bikes that can go as fast as 120 miles per hour, and scooters idk i like the motorcycle look, thats just me though

  • @bobbyd7085 I checked the site and it seems like the new price is now 7,995 not including federal incentives up to 2,500 and state incentives depending on the state. It seems like the made some improvements as well, 60 mph+. Honestly, the benefits out weigh the disadvantages.

  • How old do I have to be before I can ride this? 16?

  • @str8dikr You need to have a driver's license with a motorcycle endorsement to drive it, just like any other motorcycle.

  • hola soy de argentina quiero comprar una brammo la mandan a mi paiz?

  • eco fag, suzuki and kawasaki are way beter

  • "I just hope enough people agree and literally put their money where their mouth is..."

    LITERALLY.

    EAT YOUR MONEY.

  • Unless you live in a city, the top speed and range are both inadequate.

  • @pate357 don't like 80 % of the worlds population live in cities?

  • @pate357 I live in the country and find the similar speed and range of my Zero DS more than plenty

  • VAM know when you come to Brazil to sell these bikes angry here?

  • I feel this is more a proof of concept than a viable transport, that said it WOULD be a good commuter. I think that once the price comes down, and it will when the economics of scale kick in, then we'll see a lot of uptake.

  • @leapoffaith20 LOL at how, in the same sentence, you say this is not a viable transport, but that it would be a good commuter.

How's that schizophrenia working out for you?

  • @rmcdaniel423 The point I was trying to make is that at the moment it's only really good for getting around town. Try and go anywhere further afield and you're fucked. The prices are really too high for anyone but the the "Tech hippies". When prices come down more and more people will take up this kind of transport and hopefully they'll have figured out how to improve recharge times and extend the range on these things.

  • @leapoffaith20 The price has come down and the total cost of ownership has always been lower than a petrol bike. It's now *much lower*

  • The price tag, USD8-9,000, will keep me away from anything like this for years to come. Honda Ruckus, for instance, burns very little fuel, so the damage it does to the environment is next to insignificant, and it costs just USD2,500. The balance could be used on several family holidays and as much gas as one would need for a lifetime.

If the Brammo were sold for similar money, I would really consider it - it's quite a(n odd) looker, indeed.

  • Too bad you can't take it on the highway.

  • Brammo, Y U NO RELEASE ENERTIA YET?

  • I wonder if its available in Canada? can we drive this bike with our car driver’s license ?

The bike is expensive and I know the battery must also be very expensive so im just wondering how long the life of this battery is because I’ve heard that its start fading after 1000recharges this is less than a year for me!!

5000$ ,a battery that last at least 5 years would be a perfect winning combination for me .

  • @issamworld That's 1000 full charge discharge cycles or about 40 miles. Do you really travel 120 miles every day? If not then the battery will last much longer.

  • @gasdive

1000 full charges ? Meaning its 1000days meaning that you would have to buy a new battery every 2.7 years . I wonder how much cost a battery ? the concept is superb ,but this new tech needs to prove itself cost wise ,relaibility wise and usefulness wise only the future will tell.

  • @issamworld If the battery is 5000 dollars (I don't know what the cost of a replacement is) then that's 12.5 cents per mile. Along with electricity that's about 14 cents per mile. Most petrol bikes are 5000 mile service intervals, few are 10000. So between 4 and 8 services. Services vary from about 500 to 1000 so that's between 2000 and 8000 dollars for the petrol bike in servicing. Petrol another 4000 dollars so thats 15 to 30 cents per mile. No need to wait for the future to tell.

  • You may run out of money for gas, but Electricity is everywhere, even present in the human cell, yeah yeah , I know the charging time and range can suck, but given time, I betcha this will change. Technology only doubles in time.

  • I want one but i don't have 8000! I have 3000. what electric bike can i get for that?

  • @dosja420 maybe the govt will pay the balance, why not when they are subsudising most other things now?

  • @99cachorro If we're ever going to really live we have to open our eyes and step away from the government and their doctrine and their unreal, untruth-full good and evil dichotomy. We are all ONE human species. I have a bike that runs off water and the most natural energy in the world. That's good for me.

  • @dosja420 I'm not even sure how to reply to that....petro fuels have abundant power, per gallon, we just use too much of it in this country. I would almost bet you have not traveled much and saw how much other countries use fuels. Just a pittance of what we use here. We just don't want to conserve this great resource.. We always want bigger, faster, and take our houses with us. I'm sure someday we will drive vehicles on hydrogen but it will be some time in the future, so, until then......

  • @99cachorro When I think of driving anywhere my perspective leads me to think of the future, the children of the future and the future of the world. It's hard for me to want to use the great resources we have here because of my perspective. The perspective of most (like you said) to use, use, use until it's dead proves the tool we call the mind is overriding our natural perspective of love for all seen and unseen (humans here now and humans here in the future).

  • It's good for now but one day when we can no longer get gasoline people will kill to have an electric bike of any kind.I hate to say it but owning one could be a death sentence.

  • its a good bike to ride but dam im like 5'3 i wonder if i can ride that bike with the height im

  • $12k to go 45miles at a time doesnt flip my switch..... I can petal that far if its gonna save me $12k..... Ill keep my $12k you can spend yrs...

  • Why do people think we want automatic vehicles? It kills the fun of driving. It also sounds like shit.

  • mazzorchy front inverted suspension?? WHOA, that is really great, too much for this bike even, and brembo brakes, i'm surprised the bike is only 8k $

  • Looks very good, bring it to europe and probably it will be a sucess.

  • I simply don't see where they're getting the MSRP from. Eight 24v LiFePO4 battery packs would cost about $1000 (probably half that at wholesale prices). A 24v electric motor capable of carrying a rider would cost another $1000. Frame and components should be a lot less, about $500-1000. That's $2500, add on the markup and shipping fees you have a $4500 motorcycle. Add to that the special charger that you need it's still just $5000-6000. That's a competitive price. The Empulse looks cool though.

  • that sucks i built a better one 120 miles at 75 mph from junk parts

  • @jerrysjunk UPLOAD A VIDEO! I want to see the bike you made!

  • Love it .. but it needs to go farther

  • ooooh come on now.... electric vehicles existing since 100 years with triple range.... and more more better batteries... they are trying also to pass this technology slowly to keep paying all the time... as the mobiles..!!

  • Now THAT's how a vehicle is supposed to sound.

  • i love the idea of alternative fuel sources, but the down side for electric (especially motorcycles) is the range. i drive 300 miles on a weekly basis just to and from school. i dont have the time to wait around for a 4 hour charge for each trip. second i love to just go for rides and a 50 mile range is a real killer. i would have to own a second bike just to go for joy rides. in my opinion any electric vehicle wont grab until battery technology gets much better.

  • i like it i hope they come out with a street bike electric version this is more off road bike but i still like it love to see the oil greedy companies and abudabi billionaires getting worried because we stop givin them the money we need

  • Unfortunately I'm in Australia where these are unavailable, but I would buy an Enertia in a heart beat! Can't wait for something similar over here!

  • @J0n0tanII The Zero is available here and it's quite similar

  • The big "slab" in the middle of the frame really annoys me, designwise. I saw it without that fuddbugly fairing. Remove a couple of screws, discard the plastic slab and Hey! Presto! Looked quite a bit better. I guess the tuners are the ones that will rectify the total, utter, baffling uglyness of this ,on it's own, rather good idea.

  • $11,000 +

    4 hour charge

    55mph max

    45 mile distance max

    Repulsive.

It's practicality doesn't live up to it's aesthetic appeal.

  • @dusteroo

Maybe you should check the Brammo site. I think you will be very pleasantly surprised.

This vid is more than a year old and the progress in that year has been frankly, incredible. How does 60mph 80 miles range and $8k sound?

Or for the high performance empulse: 100mph+, 60-100 mile range and $10k- $14k?

  • @MCGeest i think that with the price of gas (and i live in europe were gas is like 10$ usd for a gallon of 98 octanes) its a very good deal, and the bike will pay itself after 2 or 3 years

  • Well they're pricey because of the batteries right? I guess you'll save gas bucks and save the environment... until all those pricey batteries stop recharging and you got to buy new ones. Yup, all batteries die. Even fancy ones. Entropy's a bitch isn't it!

I still fail to see the purpose of those bikes. With a range of 100 miles? Dude in the highway I generally drive at 75mph. That means I have what? 1.25 hours of use in open road? That's nothing!

I think the required tech is not there yet.

  • yes i always wondered why e cars always have yo look nerdy. i guess to steer ppl towards sexy gas guzzlers. can they not combine electric power and macho style? at least this bike is getting there

  • this cycle is not only cool for it's zero emission and superior performance, it's a work of art! it's the sexiest non-custom motorcycle ever!

if you ever want to give one away, i'll take it.

  • @Nevawake

don't forget the insecure crowd who try to tear stuff down because it's cheaper or better than the crap they own and will even post bogus reports on new technologies out of spite.

it's awesome seeing tiny little white zombie humiliating $50k corvettes and $100k porsches etc.

it's that annoying human "fear of the unknown" instinct. too many gas holes care nothing about how loud or stinky their global warming hog is. the ONLY bad things against electric are purchase cost & range.

  • plus, i refuse to drive anything that has an ignition that starts the same way i turn on my ipod. just no.

  • no. just no.

  • let's wait 5-10 years, and the price will drop and technology will improve, and the batteries won't be so heavy.

  • @WineAndGravy If we all wait then the tech will not improve and the price will not drop because there won't be any electric bike companies. Jump now! The batteries are heavy but the whole bike is lighter than a petrol equivalent. They're expensive to buy but the total cost of ownership is lower. If you wait then you will be just missing out for 5-10 years on the benefits I'm enjoying right now.

  • They should do something about that "toiletseat on it's side" look of the middle bit.

For the rest of it? Great that EV's finally seem to take off.

Now the wait is for guaranteed 160mls range batteries...

  • Interesting bike. The reporter is a little rude in her questions tho.

  • Actually I think something like this would be ideal for my daily work commute, or a run across town to visit friends.,,,

  • Just noticed that power button, does it ever suffer from the red ring of death? Or is it not powered by Microsoft? :)

  • electric motorcycles are coming -and coming fast! but that bike just quite doesn't ensure me! I mean my 125cc honda cbr can do faster (120kmh or 75mph) and has a range of well over 300km (190miles+) .

  • Looks slow :-(

  • A motorcycles value is based on performance nothing more nothing less. 55 mph makes it a 2 thousand dollar motorcyle end story. All the technology means absolutely nothing when it comes to value.

  • @Thelongmanable well that's just wrong. A motorcycle's value is based on many things and performace is one of them. If performance was the only criterion 99 percent of the bikes on the market would simply disappear (including all the American ones like this Brammo)

  • Just checked Brammos web site, this bike sells for $7995

  • Shaft drive would have been much better idea. No maintenance and much quieter than the chain drive. Even if it costs a bit more, I would choose the shaft over chain anyday. Once you experience shaft, you can't go back to chain.

  • @saxmanchiro to heavy, you have to keep the wieght down in order for it to be efficient

  • @HOPPERFZR What difference would there be in the two drives?

Chain- two sprockets, chain, bolts for sprockets

Shaft- (like Yamaha) aluminum shaft, two sets of pinion gears, rear housing(alum)

I wonder how much difference it really is?

  • "Tribute to the past ? I don't see that ?"

This is called evolution baby. Evolution is in itself a tribute to the past.

  • Maybe a company who sales removable battery packs would be an idea. Like you go to the station for gas, you'll go for a battery pack. But a standard has to be settle to allow bike makers to use the same pack. Of course if you buy a 100 times used pack you would not pay the same price as a brand new one. Plus that lift the recycling problem off the individuals...

  • compare the logo of Enertia with the "ROTA PMESP" logo...

    unbelievable!

    such an amazing random thing!

  • only 55 MPH you can't take it on the freeway safely. I'd be all for it if it could do 85

  • I wish it was more sporty looking. Oh, and i don't think it looks sumo at all. Looks like a small cruiser to me.

  • I love the ones that look like real motorcycles, instead of moon buggies. There's no need for the sci-fi look! Electric motorcycles are awesome. This one looks cool.

  • @StarQualityWins

nah uh! this bike looks freakin' awesome! trying to mimic gas is a step in the wrong direction as is the one electric bike maker adding fake engine noise! electric is it's own thing and i see gas as the enemy, i like that this little bike thumbs it's nose at gas hogs. it looks a little more off road friendly too.

  • @StarQualityWins

    Sorry..

The "moon-buggy" look is what we need in a world of conventional designs; it symbolizes defiance against convention.

  • New price for 2010 = $7995, there is a 10% Federal Tax Credit which brings the price down to $7195.

  • It will only do 45 miles before it runs outa electricity ??

How absolutely absurd for something u d use daily.

" Honey could you pick up some food after work?"

" Noooo babe my battery will need charging by then "

    Lol ? :p

  • @ectoplasma2 That the point. If you are stupid enough not to plan for food shopping while you can, then you'll need a brain before an electric bike (but there are too many peole in that case I'm afraid). This called being smart. Plus what is wrong saying to "honey": "Hey, you are too late my batteries are charging"

  • Comment removed

  • @unmedication Well I have a brain and a bike ... Just not an electric one? And I d love an electirc bike since I spend about 50 euros a month just on riding round town...

Had to buy a 3 month train ticket cause biking to school cost me 10 euros a day on fuel ( stupid fuel prices !!! )

But train is still a better answer then the e-bike cause the train gets me to school at 100 mph in twenty minutes. The electric bike wouldnt even get me there ... and it d take 50 min... so absurd no..?

  • @ectoplasma2 Yeah I understand your point of view. Going electric is a bis step. Anyways if I had the money I would definitely go for it. Even if it cost me time in the morning.

  • @ectoplasma2 - An electric produces ( from charging) about 20% of the carbon a gas bike does. Does that mean anything to you??? I commute 6 miles to work and shopping is 3 miles away - 45 mile range would be plenty for days of riding - for me and many, many other people. The average commute in the US is less than 20 miles. I have already been riding an electric scooter for three years - $3.00 worth of electricity takes me 1200 miles.

The absurdity lies with the skeptic

  • @ectoplasma2 It's just never a problem in reality. Because you can charge it on any power point it's fully charged every time you get on. I ride my Zero DS (similar range) to work and charge it up. When I get on at lunchtime to ride home for lunch it's fully charged. I plug in at home and by the time I'm ready to go back to work it's fully charged again. There's always enough charge to detour to the shops on the way home.

  • As electric bikes go this is at the top of my list. Some decent performance, not to much tupperware to take off and throw away, they get the price down I'd be interested. Of course marketing a bike through an electronics outlet isn't a very good way to sell it as something other than a toy.

  • I have a 07 DRZ 400SM That cost $7k new and commute with it daily (mainly to get free parking as it costs $160+ on a monthly pass). It costs me $5 a week to ride to work or just under $300 a year. I'll spend $50 for an oil change plus other things like chain lube. I'll need to replace my chain every few years and since I drive 14 miles daily my tires should last me a while. My commuting costs on a new $7k bike is $500 a year max. Why should I buy this bike other than it's green & looks cool?

  • @ptompkins1976 Because after rebates this bike costs the same to buy and doesn't need any oil changes or filters or valve adjustments.

  • This is NOT and never will be a motorcycle. If the goal was to let us drive our LCD tv they did it!

  • @talissin

Oh look, a man with a small penis.

What? You're essentially putting it out there for us all to see.

  • Outsource the production to China or India and we're in business!

  • stylish'??? hahahaha piece of crapp

  • Way, way, way too expensive!!!

  • @RepublicanDumbAss

Pretty sure they are $7,995 now.

  • @RepublicanDumbAss Total cost of ownership is less than equivalent petrol bikes

  • this is very nice but, for the price I wonder how long the company will be around. a genuine rattler 110 motor scooter is only about $2700 and an A2B bike about the same...

  • i have seen a few videos on here of electric powered cr dirt bikes . they appear to have just used an industrial electric motor of some sort and car batterys.

an alternator would have to be used otherwise it would not be a practical alternative to a gas bike.

think about it . running out of power in the middle of the interstate without an outlet in sight lol not good.

not that i know much a bout these things but just seems to me it needs an alternator to repower itself.

  • @MrUrbanExplorer Why would you be on an interstate highway with this bike? Its a commuter inner urban vehicle. It only goes 55mph and travels 50 miles on a single charge. Its for going to work and friends houses. Its pricey, but thats how all new tech is. 10 years it will cost 3k and be worth it.

  • I want this bike, enviornment friendly and stylish :)

  • I could build a better motorcycle than this for half the cost and probably get twice the range...why is that? hmmmm

  • @cypher954 go for it. If you do I'll buy one.

  • They need to get the price down under $2k or its no go forget it. I mean seriously. $8k for any motorbike to get hit in the face by bugs and rain and cold? Forget it.

  • You know whats amazing? Someone comes out with an alternative to gasoline that is almost perfect(just a tad pricey - $8000) and everyone still complains. I think this proves its not the auto industry or the oil industry pushing electrics away. Its the people.

    A suzuki sv650 is $6000, 370lbs, about $10 a tank

An enertia is only 2 grand more, less weight, and about $0.27 to fill.

I thought id never see EV's get this competitive.

  • @xamboozi I think 45 mile range is far from perfect. But they're definitely getting there. Staying off highways is not an option for me and the 55 mph top speed is a bit lacking in that regard.

Honestly I'd compare it to a 100cc scooter based on performance. And if you look at it that way it's $2000 vs $8000. Other than that it's exciting tech, and I'm excited to see what comes out next year.

  • @xamboozi It seems to be a really good bike, but if you want to save more money? Than you have to pay more money!! They place the price tag very high. You cannot compare Suzuki sv650 to an electric bike ,because Suzuki sv650 has definitely more power ,more durability, less expansive and no need to wait 4 hours for each recharge. Bravo to Brammo for making this step forward, I have no doubt the the prices will eventually come down once we have more competition. The look is hot too

  • @xamboozi But it doesnt go over 55 (in this case, usually its 45). It only has a 50 mile range. And it just hasnt caught on. People arnt selling them and people arnt buying them. And you will have to replace the batteries. And people dont think of the long term, they think "oh this bike goes 100 and i can drive it for hours and its cheaper."

  • @avalableusername look at their website..the next gen launching in q1 2011 does just that! 100mph and up to 100 miles

  • @xamboozi

really! look at how much a typical electric conversion costs for a car! motors can be $4000 alone. this is a fully engineered bike that out performs most cycle conversions and is smaller & lighter. i'd love to have one. they look AWESOME & futuristic.

i think there's some corporate conspiring too to keep batteries etc. expensive & hard to get so electric doesn't catch on for the same reason there are no hydrogen powered cars even though the tech is a decade old at least.

  • @xamboozi I totally agree with all you say but one thing, its not the price. Its the range. Most people need more range available to be comfortable with their vehicles. Its not that they will use the range, they just want to know they can if they need it. Wish people were different but I wouldnt bet on people using their limited funds to buy a limited range vehicle.

  • @my80chevette Brammo Empulse - 100mph, 100+ mile range

  • @xamboozi find out for real what the range is at 100mph.brammo won`t tell you because the figure is so small.

  • @gilessmokey it doesn't go 100mph that's why...

  • @GofCis. thanks, but my conversation with xamboozi was regarding the empulse which i think you will find is 100mph claimed.

  • @gilessmokey Ohhhhhhh, sorry my bad.

  • @xamboozi it takes hours to charge one of these. some of us like to take our bikes on long road trips. cincinnati, oh to miami, fl is 1,100 hundred miles or so. if i were to ride one hundred miles and stop to charge for 8 hours it would take several days. gas is much cheaper than a hotel room every one hundred miles. that extra $2,000 buys me approximately 635 gallons of gas @ $3.15 a gallon. that is 26,000 miles worth of fuel at 41 mpg. THAT is why i am not interested in one... yet.

  • @xamboozi And soon enough electric motorcycles will be more powerful than our gas ones, as there is no wasted energy on noise and heat

  • the range limit they give is conservative - so is the top speed. I keep 3 bikes in NYC and only ride the Enertia now, I use it every day for 2 or 3 trips ( remember we have no hills - but I AM a 200lb guy ) and I charge it once every 8 days ! It's awesome for urban . Awesome.

  • Why can't they put a generator to run off the chain so it would recharge as you ride so it can go further than 45 miles? Seems like a waste of time like it is.

  • You can't put a generator on there because that would cause parasitic drain and cause more drain than charge. Laws of Thermal dynamics states this very clearly. Electric generators are around 90% efficient so for every time you try to charge with the vehicle in operation you would lose 10% energy for ever unit of energy used. Its currently not possible to create a 100% efficient motor... if one existed you could hook it up to itself, power it, and run forever... that would be perpetual motion.

  • Thanks for the info I have always wondered why and now I know.

  • From my understanding a generator would take away too much torque, resulting in an even lower range.

It's physical law, you cannot get out more than you put in.

Air resitance, weight of bike and rider, gear transistion, drive chain, etc etc

These all are resistances the engine has to overcome anyway.

  • and a smaller generator that would run off the first generator?

no, because even the generator would create resistance that would waist the battery's energy into heat.

  • An electric motor can act as both a generator and a motor. You dont need to add a generator.

Im not exactly sure if they gave this bike the ability to recover braking inertia tho, does anyone know?

  • no clutch lever or shifter... it should be called a scooter. At this price and this performance level, this is more of a fashion statement, not for practicality.

  • I think that what someone said about horseless carriages...

  • Its not a scooter because of the design of the frame. Its not a fashion statement because of its practicality. its not that much more than a motorcycle($8grand), and the fuel savings are quite a bit.

    Motorcycle:

    initial investment- $6000

gasoline- i would drive about $30/month

    Enertia:

    initial investment- $8000

    charging @$0.09/kwatt- $1.08/month

  • they lowered the price.

after tax incentives you can get it for less than $6000

  • 12k ? Sorry. but these guys are delusional if they think ppl are going to shell out that kind of money for an electric bike with a 45 mile limit with a 4 hour charge in between. Things like this need to be built for the masses and not rich twentysomethings with cash to throw away.

  • price is now 8k. Not half but close

  • Its $8k now and alanwilz(read new comment up top) said the range limit is conservative. He charges about once every 8 days. Charging once every 8 days isn't an inconvenience to me since I charge my cell every night, and fill up my car every 3 days.

  • I would never want to deal with the best buy douchesquad. Bad idea.

Cut the price in half, and then some, and you might be onto something Brammo.

  • Too much, for $12000 + tax for something can only go about 60m/hr and 50 +- miles per charge, you really have to ride a lot to get your money worth. You can get a much better bike for 1/2 of the cost.

  • What will batteries cost? I like it, it's a good start.. I like the idea, but it costs an arm and leg for now.

  • Should be priced between $4,000 and $7,000, like a regular bike its size.

  • Ridiculous range ! May be green but I doubt it. 324lbs, must be kidding ! Never !

  • well best even sells segways

  • I give that 'bout three-fiddy.

  • What idiot is developing their marketing plan, Best Buy is not the appropriate sales environment for this product.

  • seriously, best buy is not the place for any motorcycle, but this cycle's a little silly anyways.

  • What kind of batteries does it use?

  • U-Charge XP, made by Valence Technology.

  • I was hoping the bike cost about 3 or 4 grand, but when she said 11,995. I was like you must be crazy!!! Not for a top speed of about 55 mph and that low range. I was like a scooter can do better then that at a fraction of the cost.

  • I've never ridden a motorcycle but I want this e-bike. This will be on my must have list.

  • i think its best gpr-s

  • 11,995.00 ???? with that price tag why shouldn't i just get a 600cc and still have cash left for gears???
