  • Is this the reissue? You say its a 1981 Super Reverb, but it has a black face. I recently purchased a 1981 and its silver faced. Just Curious, I just got it out of the shop from a recap job and fixing other slight issues with the amp electronics. I was just wondering. I know that its not a very popular amp being silver face and all, but for the price it sounded better than my HotRod that died on me. Mine also have the pull out master volume, and is 70 watts, is this amp the same?

  • Very Nice Amp!!!!

  • Nice sounding amp and I love those fat 50's, my faves in strats for sure. I would suggest, if your gigging at all, to take the casters off the amp, even though it's a mutha to carry, your circuitry and tubes will thank you. Also try plugging the strat into the 1st input of the channel, as that is wired hotter for single coils, while input 2 is meant for humbuckers. Nice playing too, btw.

  • @paintdrink Just curious, why is removing casters better for circuitry and tubes?

  • @grandpalacerecords Rolling an amp on the ground creates an awful lot of shock to it's wiring and to the life of the tubes, which are quite delicate objects. That's one of the reasons that amps with separate heads were designed, to keep the circuitry and tubes away from the rumbling cabinet during playing and handling. Carrying an amp is much healthier for it's longevity.
