@giegorz that´ s absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, I just heard the PC 3 is now discontinued. There is the PC 3 LE but I don´t know if indepth editing is possible.
For those who wish to dig a bit deeper, the PC3LE (with OS v2) now gives users full access to its V.A.S.T. engine, which includes a large arsenal of powerful sound-shaping tools. Hundreds of parameters can be tweaked, routed and assigned to controllers. With a wide array of samples, rich sounding VA oscillators and up to 32 layers per program, the sonic possibilities are nearly endless.
I'm confused.. can one take a blank/init patch and select waveforms, map them to envelopes and lfos, and guide those to filters like a normal subtractive synthesizer or is it limited to editing patches that are already there with what connections they already have in each specific patch?
@narfy The PC3 K series allows you to use your own samples also. To process these samples there is a VAST synthesis at your disposition. It`s a list of different algorithms that you can route, merge, configure, connect like a modular synth. In every program you have 32 layers (samples) and every layer can have it`s own algorithm (set) of DSP-s (filters and other sound processing devices). There`s a maximum 4 DSP blocks per layer and you can cascade (connect) all 32 layers in a single program.
I have never bought a soundset for any of my synths before. But there are quite a few replicas of classic sounds here that I have never nailed myself. I surrendered and bought it last week!
I've had my PC3X for about 18 months now, I knew it was powerful, but it wasn't until I heard it paired up with your prgramming skills that made me realise I really have got a very special machine indeed!
It's going to take me a loooong time though do get into VAST the way you have - well done, I'll be placing my order as soon as I get paid this month!!!
This only proves the vast superiority of the Kurzweil PC3 over the competition. No other hardware keyboard workstation can match the soul and the sounds of the mighty Kurzweil PC3.
I usually prefer to roll my own than buy soundsets, but these aren't just interesting and different, but musically useful. When I get my PC3 - hopefully soon! - I'm getting this soundbank.
God damn listening to this makes me so proud of my PC3X and I know I made the right choice!!

I am also asking myself those questions. And how many different waveforms/ samples can be assigned within a single patch??
xamielxamiel 9 months ago
@xamielxamiel You can create up to 32 layers in one patch, each layer can have it's own sample or oscillator

is part 0:26-0:34 a arppegio that's included in the "moose attack pack"?

Programming the PC3 can be such a pain, especially ADSR en simple filter envelope stuff, skipping true all the layers.

Your "Rendez-vous 4" programming needs more work to be really convincing regarding sounds (EVEN the main brass lead).
Except from that, PC3 sound awesome !
