It was such a sad day when this great monumental sporting event came to an end.Im 32 now & my father & I didnt miss a single Waterloo Cup from 1990 to the final event in 2005. Ive kept my programmes from each event in pristine condition. They serve as a reminder for me to great memories. There was much more to the Waterloo Cup than people understand - It literally started the whole 'knockout competiton' on a grand scale. Many other events copied - Wimbledon, Snooker, Darts the list is endless...
all you misguided animal rights campaigners address the real issues ..preach loving relationships, contraception, population control & responsibility & stop encroaching countryside/farmland with towns & they'll be less demand for battery/mental chickens more farmland for freerange & more countryside for wilderness, oh & you might sort out the social problems of inner citys & leave country folk who are best equipped to manage the countryside to do so,
i aint really into hare coursing but theres nothing wrong with hunting or hunting with dogs for food , infact its more noble n honourable than buying a chicken from a supermarket which has been bred onto the conveyor belt of consumer ignorance, its over in a matter of seconds for the prey but the supermarket chicken you do gooders should be protecting wishes he was never even born,
@LennyCravis Watching hare coursing. I would have thought that even a nasty little racist like you would have been able to work that one out. Not only watching but supporting it.
such a shame, once again a life long tradition lost forever because of those scum bag anti's, the 1 thing i looked forward to all year was the waterloo cup and now its gone. long live hare coursing and all asociated with it!
rip waterloo cup :( its scary times when animals start comming before people and thier jobs and way of life :( no wonder more are moving out of this country :(
Lovely, lovely, lovely! If the editing weren't so abupt, those in favor of the ban would learn more about how the coursing enthusiasts PROTECT the hare! They let them breed during breeding season and do NOT abuse the land, the hares and habitat. From here in the US, we hope and pray the ban WILL be overturned! Long live coursing!
I am filled with horror to see the disregard men have for British wildlife, and note with further horror that the bloody arabs are sneaking in. Dear God. THE HUNTING ACT MUST REMAIN.
Can someone direct me to some resource on training a greyhound for this? Here in the US we have thousands of greyhounds that are rescues from race tracks and are sitting in shelters. If there was some sort of sport for these greyhounds the adoption numbers and resulting better care for them would skyrocket.....
I so miss coursing breaks my heart they took it away from us :(

A magnificent video record.
I lived less than 5 miles from the Withins and would walk there and back to watch the coursing.
It was a sad day for British history when this was stopped. very sad.

Explain your reasons why you think this is a disgusting sport?
Are you really that dumb?
Dogs love to chase things,They are not whipped,Not ill treated,Not risking their lives,Get a grip and think before you type such shite.
