The v10 on the e60 m5 make that sound on the idle. To unleash the beast you need to turn the car on sport mode, cuz for gas economy the engine runs on 5 cylinder when power are not needed.

Just for all you fools out there. The diesel sound is not coming from the god dam BMW its coming from the car thats across the road from it. Check the start of the video and you will see the woman getting out of it. Notice how the 'diesel' sound gets really loud as he is at the back of the car? Thats probably because the car that you can hear is driving past. The engine of the m5 is not even on. And yes. It is an m5. fools.

@M335 it is actually an M5..you can tell by the front bumper side skirts wheels rear spoiler bumper and the 4 exhaust pipes. Yes it does sound like a diesel but thats normal, an M5 actually sounds like that when its idle, but sounds sweet when its in M mode =P

I have an e39 m5 which sounds like a diesel on startup it's because of the vanos valves which are designed to get the engine up to working temperature quickly so there's less emissions these engines are over engineered by BMW so that's why it sounds like a diesel

This beauty have a 3d engine, and that sound is just normal for a diesel BMW. In europe and KSA diesel is cheaper and the consumption in diesel cars is much lower than petrol cars. This monster here have a combined consumption of 12L/100km. Imagine how much would it be if it was petrol... Anyway the cars is awesome!
