The Volt uses batteries to power electric motors and a small 1 liter engine which turns a generator to charge the batteries. A Diesel Electric Locomotive uses similar technology. Don't think GM can't produce this technology by 2010. We have been running Diesel Electric Locomotives Built by GM's Electro Motive Division for more than 30 years. They always knew they could employ this technology in an automobile. Technology is being spoon fed to us 1 teaspoon at a time and 30 years late!

we need to quit crying about GM and every other problem with the auto industry and focus on making a positive difference. look for ways to support other electric car companies by buying whatever you can find. there are electric vehicles out there.
