I dont know why you get so close with Tau? Tau is supposed to avoid space marnes at all cost. Move always away of them rather than closer. That was the Tau players fault in this video while marines just waited the coming and then laughing on close combat with tau.
combat tactics is the one where they can fail any morale check and cannot be caught by a sweeping advance, combat squads is the one where they can split up.
... k, I think both of these guys are kinda bad at the game. The Tau slightly more bad then the Space Marine then again possibly just f-ing around and having fun.
how much did your buddy spend on his space marine army and what where those mini versions of those mini rhinos also you are terrible at deploying im a newb and i know for a fact that that was a terrible setup oh and i love the wall your buddy made good tactic

Dunno why, but the Tau seem to be lacking points-wise...they just don't appear to have enough firepower to challenge what the space marines are bringing out.
Also, I dunno about you but I always take snpier drones when fighting marines. I think they're underused and find them extremely effective against MEQ's. Essentially stealth suits with rail rifles is what they are, and they do their job well, 'specially with markerlight support.

@Spjungen Its kinda a simi ok list. His deployment is what REALLY showed how new he was to the army. His choice of fire knife( plasma rifle, missle pod, multitracker) crisis suits was great but again, deployment was what got him.
Deep striking those suits in front of all those las canons and shit was a big mistake man. Sitting back and blasting away is always a better option than deep striking without an orbital relay and some infantry backup.
For the greater Good!!! i just wanna say you should have more infantry or hammerheads or maybe one pirrhana.. but nice army.. loved it in action .. and beleve me fighting space marine in close combat is a real pain in the ass!! gretings from Khornelover94
Did i hear you correctly you paid blue table painting to paint your army? I looked at the prices and at least to me its ridiculously expensive how much did it cost u all together
3. the only time i'd use gun drones separately would be to deep strike em, and try to hit rear armor. But i'd much rather attach them to crisis suits, give them the extra wounds.
4. i wouldn't use shield generators. They're good, but too expensive, with JSJ you should be able to get a cover save most of the time.
other than that a great game and thx for the report! :)
1. i wouldn't use Shas'O commanders, take Shas'el (25 points cheaper) put a targetting array on (+1 Bs) and a gun drone extra wound and soaks instagib shots. So for 20 points you basically get a better unit.
2. instead of one of those railheads i'd use two broadsides. Same points, with unbelievable tank stopping power, combined they get 2x St 10 AP1 shots which are twinlinked (reroll to hit) 2+ armor save and two wounds.

PR+MP+MT = Fireknife
PR+MP+SG = Fireshield
Only a 'ui leader or 'vre can then buy a HW-MT...and they call themselves elite. XD

Hammerhead railguns, because those IG command squads need to die.

use the shield drones because it saves you from instant death. You just kill the drone and not the whole suit.

@ibzsabre
They get one ST10 Ap1 shot.
It's twinlinked, and there's one.
They die instantly, can be armor pierced, require +10 points to be able to move + shoot.
Railhaids have a large blast shot, can move 12 inches and still fire, are generally much more usefull, can have a 4+ cover save etc etc.
