feels really unsafe this ride but its not too high off the floor on some of the track

Went on it again last week. There's one drop, followed by a sharp corner that had me worried!

But I was on the yellow horse - a thoroughbred who'll win the race at any cost!

What a horsey! - always yellow from now on ...

Come to think of it,

It's no more unsafe than cycling without a helmet (which I do all the time).

Nobody says "oh, we need to put a harness and a seat belt on every bike just in case someone falls off".
