hard to belive short little kid with a beattles band and a song called hang on sloopy got lucky and made the big time more power to you rick always like your stuff .
I grew up on Rick,Johnny and Edgar. Then I didn't listen for almost 27 years.Started buying his newer stuff a few years ago after hearing the jazzy one he did which was great.Next GP3 should be Satriani.Vai and Derringer.Derringer,Bogart, and Appice is a great album also.
Two reasons I play guitar today is because I saw Derringer at the Superbowl of Rock 4 at Soldier Field in 77 and the Chicagofest 78 show. There was no need to stay for Journey after Derringer played. There isn't a guitarist on the planet that doesn't cover this song.
Dude...I was there at Chicagofest in '78! I was blown away by Rick. You're right...who cared about Journey after that?
A great memory of mine was when Rick came up to jam with my band (All-Night Newsboys) in '87 - at a club in St. Louis - we went on for over two hours. What a blast!!!
damn yeah! thanks for posting this, one of my bands opened for him in '92. a gentleman, and one hell of a guitarist! what a talent! We need more like him, Johnny and Edgar today!
