Tony Hawk is more of a vert skater. Although Rodney Mullen invented the kickflip, heelfip, and air walk (ETC.) Roney invented the Casper and junk like that. I like to Watch Mullen more than Hawk myself, but they are both influintial skaters.

actually you can definitely compare tony hawk and rodney mullen. Hawk took mullen's freestyle innovation and used it in the pools and on ramps. At least that is what Hawk said in the Mullen documentary. He would watch stuff mullen did, like fingerflips and kickflips and do it all on vert.
