Why people are always trying to find things where there's nothing.

Rinoa is not Ultimecia, the creator of FF8 told that already. Squall is not dead, Rinoa smiles after the sky is cleared up. Rinoa is not dead. When he saw her without a face, is just his fear of lose the person who he loves.

And this ending, it is just a reference how they met each other for the first time. Squall was looking to the sky and saw a shooting star, now was the same thing with Rinoa. The beginning and the ending.

Not only did he die by disc one, but Rinoa is just his daydream, she died before this game started, her death making Squall the loner he is, by the point of the this ending, he remembers everything, except Rinoa, her memory is fuzzy... why cant he remember her? Because she at some earlier point died in outer space...

He imagines that she would have been alive if he had told her that he loved her earlier (thus he imagines that he can send his thoughts to her, which magically keep her alive).

Assuming squall DOES die at the end of disc one everything up til then is real, meaning General Caraway really did interact with her and try to lock her in the mansion (locking the others in there too) Rinoa couldn't be HIS daydream because EVERYONE interacted with her. She couldn't have died in space before the game because if they went to space after squall died, even Esthar might not be real.

Remember when things start getting blurry? Why does every image look still, EXCEPT Rinoa in every flashback?

He is struggling to remember Rinoa, yet remembers everything else perfectly, until he sees her corpse in space, and feels hollow, then he cries.

Aka: Why cant I remember her? Oh right... she died.. I feel hollow *sad*

So what I'm getting from this is that Squall died (Or was on the verge of dying) after the final battle, and Rinoa brought him back to life/saved him just like Squall saved her from dying when she was lost in space. I could be wrong, those are just my thoughts. Beautiful ending nontheless. Right up there with the Kingdom Hearts endings, they get me every time. <3

Squall dies in the final fight, never gets back from the compression of time, in this video is seen as squall does not appear until after Rinoa see a shooting star, and supposed to make a wish, after to this appears squall. . XDD!

I personally do not find meaning in theory that dies at the end of cd 1

I just realised something.

On disc 1 during the first mission in Timber Squall says something along the lines of "Things don't work out the way you want them to".

Well the ending ended pretty much perfectly for him... a designer of ff7 said that Aeris dying so early was to give it a more realistic dramatisation.. maybe final fantasy VIII was another step in that direction with Squall?

everything after the feather drops in the first few minuts if the ending cg is a depiction of heaven he is dead.

He did not die, as you can see in part 2, Squall wakes up when Rinoa reaches him and hugs him. So Squall did not die, this is a happy ending :)
