For me is basicaly imposible to snipe on normal on PS3,it just feel stupid that you hit a guy in the chest from 5 feet with a M98 and doesn't die,but I rock the M98 on hardcore with ACOG and straight pull all day...to bad I don't have a capture card

There's really no reason to use the M40A5 over the L96, on any ranges. Their stats are exactly the same except L96 has less bullet drop and it's bullets travel faster. But still, I love my M40A5.

three ways to use music with a movie: polarizing (creating a mood), paraphrasing (supporting the video's mood) and cunterpointing. This is the latter. But to me personally, it creates a criticising view on war and violence, like it does in many many movies.

Thank you for showing how effective recon can be.  I'm just now getting back into it after bc2, and I'm really hoping they don't reinstitute the one hit kills. What you're doing takes skill, and not every class needs or should be simple to pick up and play.

@Daaaaviiid1 M40A5. If you like a bit longer ranges, use L96. If you can't handle the sway caused when you load a new bullet, use the SV98.

(M98b is the worst bolt action imo)

@WhiteMoosey Umm, statistically speaking the M98 is by far the best bolt in the game. Google symthic bf3 gun stats.

@dontworryboutme82 The higher damage of M98 is irrelevant. The bullet velocity is not much faster then the L96 . The L96 has faster scope, pull and reload (+ larger magazine size).

That's why I think the L96 beats M98.

In the L96vsM40A5, the M40 is just faster overall, but slower bullet velocity.

If you can't adjust for bullet drop, maybe the M98 is better for you. But you should probably change class if that's the case.

This is all just my opinion of course. Use what you enjoy the most.

@WhiteMoosey I'm interested to hear the logic in saying the higher damage is irrelevant. It gives more one shot kills, which is the point in a bolt action sniper. I don't think that's disputable. Maybe if you run around aggressively looking for montage clips the the faster aim and larger mag size would help. A traditional sniper would prefer higher damage and and velocity, I would think. I don't play recon so I don't really care. I just didn't know if you knew the gun facts.
