  • @shehani0nline

I'm sure if you contact the one laptop per child website they will be able to help you....or at least keep your school in mind for the future.

  • @GhibliFan1

Thanks for reply ! They don't want to donate us..

  • linux yuk mac and windows o linux

  • "so simple, even a child can use it. (and they do)"

  • @zoidbtag the country would have a block for that thing, and besides, it can't play flash stuff.

  • ha ha ha! LOLZ

After 2:13 he wanted to turn screen back to keyboard side but he forgot the direction and we could see his struggle until 2:27

Anyways a good option for paper books for kids. Now learning can be interactive and with live video information.

  • OLPC is a great project. I was involved in the G1G1 program. The laptop is more rugged than most commercial laptops out there except the tough books. Having a solid state drive is a great idea. The laptop is no speed demon but it works very well for its intention. I will continue to support this program. Knowledge is power! Knowledge is a main ingredient in ridding hunger and poverty.

  • hmm...i think that the kids in nigeria will watch p0rn on those things all day....good job! :D

  • just kidding :D

  • and why won't the chicklet keyboard die. hasn't 20 years of computer history taught any of these manufactuers anything.

  • the rabbit ear antennas were a bad idea. a kid will break those off so fast or poke someone in the eye with. tablet is a good idea but makes it a weak point to also twist off and break. paper and pen is still superior. portable, zero power, cheaper, and unlike computer data, media lasts for thousands of years. computers are distracting and addictive which is a bad (tm) thing

  • I live in the us how do i get it

  • I think it still costs about 188 USD to manufacture...NickNeg says it depends on the cost of Nickel. This guy is fascinating. A huge player in web standards.

  • I want one.

  • the intro

"my name is Hakon Wium Lie, how come?"

    hahahhahha

  • a book can cost 100

this laptop cost 100 but have unlimited information in it via internet ,it is a life saver for the poor and thrist for kwodlege

  • hahah..quite cool

  • One Laptop per Child vs Asus EEE .

Who do you think win ?

  • I'd say it depends on what you are looking for.

cheap home use laptop or during transport like a train i'd say Asus EEE. but if you are going camping and needs some thing a bit more rugged then the OLPC. that is what I think after what I have seen

  • yep... eee can run oblivion: olpc can run.. calculus..

  • totally agree... high-five!

  • yeah I have both and I can tell you that OLPC is great and is great for internet browsing.

  • price wise one laptop per child

  • dude the laptop is like 100 dollars and for children, the asus is like 2 grand and is for people who want small gaming and dont want a typical laptop

  • WHERE DO YOUU GET THESE??????????

    pleas someone tell me

  • try ebay right now, they are going for high $300. I'm gonna wait until they are $100. around 4th quarter 2007, their website was selling them for $400, you are paying for 2 of them, one is yours, and the other will be given to a child in a developing country on your behalf. I'm totally willing to spit out $200 for 2, but at $400? I can get a POS laptop for afounr 500, and it will be better than the XO

  • I'm using opera on my olpc right now, and it kicks ass! I never appreciated opera until I was forced to use it. Sugar, the OLPC interface, is really cool and probably perfect for someone who has never used a computer before, but opera adds enough elements of a traditional OS to my XO that I can really use it in most cases to replace my normal Ubuntu desktop.

  • I wonder what those uptight snobs at mac will think of this. They always try to get in on everything.

  • You'll be able to pick one up on Monday November 12th. That's in two days! The price is $400 to buy one for yourself and one to be delivered to another child.

  • This laptop looks like it's for kids. Are you making adult user childish just so you can laugh and boast how mighty/leet you are? I'm not angry, but money is boring.

    COLON

  • Thats because it is for children. OLPC = One Laptop Per CHILD.

If you want a big kids version look at the Asus eeEpc which costs around $350.

  • Tengo entendido que en los paises desarrollados los van a vender por el doble de su precio, asi por cada uno que se vende aqui, otro va gratis al tercer mundo....

  • che puedo jugar al doom 3 ????? en esa maquinita de juguete????

  • ywah so every1 in school is gonna get one i only have 3 years left of high school and iike i want one for the 3 years i ahve left....

  • How you get it and whats 3rd world sorry i jus fpund this by mistake is every child going to get one?

  • cool im going to buy one for sure

  • cool machine annoying guy

  • i hope the 3d world conturies don,t buy them so the company sell them in the us uk and and other places i would buy

  • lol greedy pig. but seriously there are pretty cheap laptops that are way better. and you won't look stupid with the "rabbit ears"

  • it's a fedora based linux os with a custom ui

  • What is the OS?

  • Westerners should buy this 100$ laptop for 200$ so that one one can be given for free to poor children :)

  • athelia444 you idiot you ignorant jerk think before you talk.

  • everybody, cant we agree that it is a tough world out there. Athelia, your circumstances obviously havent been made better by the goverment or society you live in, so maybe the future generations with access to this technology could make a better world, even if we cannot presently reap the benefits.

  • Well things are going to change now you've joined the EU. Also in Africa things a a bit worse then in your country. Charity is not communism.

  • Muy bien por la inciativa. Dios quiera que se masifique, ayudando a nuestros paises pobres a progresar

  • i hate it. it's really bad! give me one i'll show you the best way to break such rubbish thing. /sarcasm

  • everyone that wants one say " i "

  • Man, the handle makes it look so easy for someone to come up and just steal it ><

  • Is this emerald macanichal thing comming in South Asia?

  • Opera Browser is always good

  • its from norway

  • 366MHz AMD x86-ühilduv protsessor Geode GX2
