  • stupid birds

  • And your mom sucking my dick .

  • Comment removed

  • i think the flight attendants need to be called heoros too but i do know that the pilot was a heoro tooo!!!!!!

  • Move over Val Kilmer, this guy (pilot) is the original ICE MAN.

  • @ViresVeneratio NO ONE DIED IN THIS ACCIDENT MATE.

  • 0:59 'idiot'?

  • Did the guy in the tower know ge had no thrust in both engines?, how could he turn around?,,,

  • I feel bad for all the luggage on board.

  • Wow, the air traffic controller acted pretty fast and the pilot was so calm getting in touch with the other airport ... crazy... glad everyone made it fine!

  • @ViresVeneratio HAHAHA!

  • what is hudson?

  • @360lolz the Hudson river

  • @ViresVeneratio

Are u crazy or wat.. all of them survived ok !!! Not even one had any serious injuries, let alone death.. Do ur homework b4 commenting ..

  • Stunning. Both the crew on board and the air traffic controllers were utterly professional and performed their jobs to perfection!

  • hi_âñyøÑe_wÀnÑa_chÁt_wÎth_mé_έ_feèl_sÒ_lòÑËlý_tôDäÿ...

  • The incrediable thing is, if you pay attention is the SPEED of all these contacts being made and decisions being made in MILLISECONDS and information being zipped out so fast. These guys in the cockpit were just like thos eon land. Fast, quick and decisive. Incrediable calm and quick authority.

Kind of wish they were politicians, they'd have it all wrapped up in 1 day for everything and on their way home!

  • 5 birds did not like this.

  • Calm and focued can do miracles. Sully did a text book procedure with no mistakes

  • Not true.......they both (both pilots) forgot to close off all flow valves and make the fuselage "airtight." But, yes.....stellar job nonetheless :)

  • Ahahahaha Muslim birds! Good one

  • I bet the birds were muslim.

  • @madisonelectronic No doubt!! The government's actions in this incident were scandalous. The pilots, the flight attendants, and the air traffic controller were all drug tested................................

........................... However, NOT ONE of those Canada Geese were EVER drug tested!!

  • Biggest balls ever

  • 0:00

  • Sully is a BAMF, the Chuck Norris of all pilots.

  • The ATC Patrick Harten did a great job as well! Go see him talk to the NTSB meeting with Sully, Jeff, and the ladies. Cool, calm kid did a bang up job on the ground. Go see "Brace for Impact" for the whole story.

  • Thoose r the type of pilots we need ........ Hes an example

  • The pilot is soooo calm!

This would've been my response: OMGGGG HELP MEEEE!!! BIRD HIT ENGINEEEE!!! WE'RE GONNA CRASH!!! WE'RE GONNA DIE AND I'M TOO YOUNG TO DIE!!! PLEASE SAVE ME!!! I DON'T WANT TO DIEEEE!!!! AHHHHHH

Haha I bet all of you reading are thinking: 'Thank God you're not a pilot'

Don't worry I feel exactly the same way lol

  • WOW its not 1529 nits 1549

  • The tower controller. Wash like wtf the hudson !

  • thats pro

  • CONTROLLERS LIKE WAT ARE FUKN WITH ME

  • My aunts boss was on that plane when it hit the hudson. He was on the wing of the plane... but I just can't find where he is in the video.

  • You can tell the ATC from where they took off is a bit shaken, but I'm seriously so impressed by all the guys involved here. I remember seeing an interview with the pilot and the interviewer was saying "how did you mange to stay/sound so calm" and he basically said when he heard himself he could hear how completely stressed out he was and that he wasn't very calm at all.

  • Good job pilot.

  • at 23 sec , the tower operator said flight 1529 instead of saying 1549...

  • This is not "cockpit" recording as it says. Its just the ATC tapes.

  • @d0rkiishchris you're wrong, there are cockpit recordings but those recordings can't be heard by nerd civilians like you, you will only hear atc tapes. cockpit recordings are only heard by FAA, DGAC and every aviation administration worldwide. cause aeronautic business doens't want to hear shit talkers like you talking about something you don't know.

  • both engine gone. plan going to crash! duh. do you need assistance? what do you think sherlock? im in the air, both engine fail. there only one possibility, that is DOWN.

  • @badlikeme79

    lmfao ikr!!

  • MassaF109 : You obviously don't go to airports. There are huge numbers of "protected' birds and the Airports are not allowed to kill them, thank your elected officials

You might die because you saved the life of a snail darter

  • "Yes."

That line was so terse I can't imagine how the traffic controller didn't grasp the severity at that moment. What a pilot.

  • This isnt a blackbox recording.

  • Just the regular ATC tapes.........

  • damn thats a hell of a pilot right there.

and the guy on the radio...needs to friggin listen to someone...he told that jake 3 times he was gonna end up in Hudson...never once got it.

  • MassaF109-That was an Airbus A320 on departure not an Extra 300. Its low and slow had he tried to take evasive action he could have stalled on departure and the outcome would not have been as good as it was. Capt. Sully-Well done.

  • all pro's both pilot and ATC.

  • While I have great respect for the calmness needed to think as fast as the pilots did in a situation such as this, I beg the question that how is it possible to hit a FLOCK of geese. One or two are hard to see, but an entire FLOCK, As a visual scan is part of your normal flying routine how can one miss this? In any event I have great respect for there actions to save all on board.

  • @MassaF109 according to the voice comms recorder , sully distracted the FO with the view of the Hudson , so they were both looking at the hudson instead of ahead , thank god it was a flock fo geese and not a small aircraft ,altough having said that they both did a great job in an emergency.

  • Respect to pilots.

  • Captain said 1539 at the beginning, no?

  • Pilots like Chelsey Sullenburger(US), Bob Pearson(AC) and Robert Piché(TS) they all did the impossible to save the life of the passengers onboard!! I have great respect for them! They are doing a hell of a good job!

  • Respect to Cpt. Sullenberger. He made, what they say almost impossible to be done - land a jetplane on water and keeping it in one piece. And, when asked if he s sure everyone was able to escape from plane, he had controlled every single seat before leaving, following the old "rule" "Captain is the last one to leave".

And Respect to all folks, who handle such a difficult situation in a such way. Sullenberger is a Hero, but don t forget the other ones, like Cpt. Al Haynes (Sioux City). RESPECT!

  • Agree fully Clerence.. . Respect also to Bob Pearson (Gimli Glider) who brought down (Glided) a jet saving all lives and also the aircraft. Great Pilots !

  • If i was the pilot i'd probablyshit my pants about a hundred times even before i'd of decided to land into the Hudson.

  • It's amazing how they can manage that situation without panyc!! But I must say that it makes me lough when the pilot says: we're gonna be in the Hudson, and the controller asks to repeat that again..... He can't believe it!!

  • wow. these jobs are so hard to do. ATC and pilot- you must remain this calm in any situation. congrats. what about the co-pilot though- i hate that

  • how calm he is.

    relly good psych.

    i wanna b a pilot

    and i wanna b like him :)<33

  • there was some shit in the atc controller's pants when the pilot said "we're gonna be in the hudson"..

  • He sounded really calm in that conversation. Damn good pilots!!!

  • ATC is a hard and stressfull job especially in a place like NY with all that traffic. You mess up and you could kill people.

  • We can't do it were going in the hudson..... Say again cactus! I said fuck you were going in the hudson.

  • @cupomash ROFL!!!!!!!!!

  • he puts a smile on my face... i wanna be as good pilot as he is!

  • Whata fucking HERO.. So chilled and all.. WOW

  • So anoying, i left NY the day before this happened, and flew back to Sweden.. I would've like to be ther and watch it, since i was a very happy ending! This pilot is a true hero! Allthough maybe it would have been scary to fly after this,. :P

  • flightsimpros1... this ain't a living room flying. I am positive you got no idea what it is to be on the screen and radio when what you had lined up goes totally pooped and you got seconds to decide.

  • God bless this man

  • He is really a hero!

  • Circumstances...But some people on here seem to think that it must be so easy for ATC...

  • Comment removed

  • maybe it was that he was so calm, and 100% focused, that made the difference, most people, including most pilots, would have been at least a little nervy, and that would affect the landing, no ones fault, the pilot was so calm and focused though,

  • ...I'm pretty sure he was nervy as hell. Not most pilots, but all pilots are trained to handle emergencies in that way. Obviously you have to remain outwardly calm.

  • Amazing, Thank God for that amazing pilot! True hero!

  • Such a hero. I was so freaked out when this happened, since I live so close. He was so calm, cool, and collected.

  • a true american

  • i bet he got laid bug time that night :D

  • Wow this pilot is a hero!

  • ...flying a plane is not that hard (not meaning any idiot could do it, of course)..what sets an airline pilot apart from other regular people is the way the pilot is trained to act in emergencies...the hudson landing is gonna be in whatever pilot introductory textbooks for a long time to come.... good one, sully!

  • PILOT: " We're going to be in the hudson"

    ATC: "Say Whaaaat?"

    lol

  • i go to school with a boy who was on that plane.

  • unbelievable how calm and cool this guy is. this seperates the men from the boys.

  • I think though in this situation any decent pilot could of done what this guy did. The thing that separates the people that can and cannot do this are the ones that panic and freeze up.

  • we are going to be in the hudson....like he was just going to land in a super market carpark, this guy is amazing, and also defies all records of any plane making a safe landing in water. I agree he truly is a hero, how many people save that many in a matter of minutes!!! i salute the pilot!!!

  • this pilot have balls

  • the pilot was so calm when he said we might be in the hudson.....lol...amazing....i wud hav shit my pants....

  • @levewe When you've been flying for as long as he has you have a pretty good feel for what the airplane can do and how it's going to handle in the particular situation.

I'm willing to bet he was more confident than not that if he came in just right, he'd be able to make it.

  • the pilot is a hero, i have a lot of respect for him , he deserves to be a national hero .

  • Amazing, Capt Sully was in complete calmness during the conversation. At the last 1:35 min. when he says he is going to be in Hudson. The warning alert was sounding all over!

  • I know!

He could have been saying "we'll be at the restaurant" based on how calm he was

  • good job

  • LOL that pilot is great !! " we're gunna be in the hudson "

Its amazing how calm he stayed through the whole thing, he done a great job :D

  • el piloto no es un heroe. que le de gracias

a dios.que el fue el unico que no quizo

    que el avion.perdiera total mente

la potencia de los motores, senor mis respetos para usted.que dios lo bendiga

    siempre.y asu familia

  • its amazing how calm the pilot is.

  • I know its an emergency but isnt it 1549 lol.. That ATC guy must of been shitting bricks lol

  • I know right lol

  • that pilot is my idol

  • cool

  • the tower must be stupid the flight is 1549 NOT!!!! 1529

  • your stupid! its a huge emergency the controller would be shittin him self about this emergency ... to screw up on a number is not a big deal.

  • 0:24

wtf, where are they standing at?

  • some kind of boat platform i think ,.. ?

  • that pilot is amazing. he stayed calm and knew exactly what he had to do.

  • Incredible. Very good pilot. Good luck to his company and business.

  • your an idiot... incredible pilot skill saved them

  • I hope you're kidding.

    I really do.

  • Whatever...what about all the other fatal plane crashes? I'm sure they were praying to GOD too! It was 100% the amazing skills of the pilot that they survived.

  • They got down, out and to safety by the skill of the crew and the help of onlookers. No god had anything to do with that, or said all powerful, almighty deity would have kept those damned bird out of the engines.

Now go try to steal credit for your faith somewhere else.

  • omg it sound he was like demanding to go in the hudson.. but he did was he had 2 do... an he did a great job doing it

  • shit, the water was cold, the best pilot ever!!! really good!!!

  • we are gonna be in the hudson....am sorry say again <<<he mean what the fuck

    brave pilot

  • Amazing, the best pilot ever!!!

  • this one is good

  • pilot hero

  • The Pilot was calm as hell. He did a great job

  • I'm just going to land on the river! Thanks, bye!

  • Amazing.

  • How many different callsigns does the ATC wana use for this guy. He's US 1549, but calls him 1529, 1539 and 1549.....

  • I think it's a mistake by ATC. I thought the same too. The ATC was probably stressed and overwhelmed and was blobbing out callsigns.

  • he sounded so calm, i hope that i would be the same in that contitions

    Cpat. Bosson

  • Amazing how calm and collected he sounds although he lost thrust on both engines.

  • If anyone wants to bring God into tragedy. Why don't we similarly thank God everytime a day passes when 20,000 aircraft safely return to the ground. Passengers on each plane should get out and bow to the almighty creator who never meant for men to fly in the first place.

  • JUst PLAIN old LUCK.

  • not to bring down that amazing piece of flying on anything, im just saying that he was incredibly lucky. very very lucky

  • good on you sully, a hero in the sky, we need more pilots like you and your crew.

  • i like this new Hudson airport

  • lmao.

  • Would that be Waterway 19? (190 degrees?)

  • 19=190 degrees

  • I work at Detroit Metro and the pilot is a 25 yr. vet he was going to retire but the airlines screwed him out of his pension he is a very good pilot but the chace of landing in water without breaking a wing or doing a nose dive are 1 in a million so to keep your cool as he did and save everyone's life makes this pilot a true HERO. My hat is off to him, and I would like to thank him for being the pilot of that plane at that moment in time.

  • Poor birds :(

  • why the hell stay formal!!! if i heard both out engines are fucked id be like DUDE WHAT WHERE AND WHEN AMBU's? POLICE WHAT DO YOU NEED!! not cactus 15945 delta bravo control tower B section564567 this is the blue bird 6578 were going to land in the hudson lol but seriously good job pilot technology and a good education!

  • lol thats why ur not a pilot.

  • agreed....this pilot was so professional and quick decisions...no time to panic....he knew he had to make quick calm decisions.....any panicking and he could have ended up midway between airport and river....meaning over land and we all know how that would have turned out!

  • most pilots in reality woud've acted in the same way. He was lucky that the birds ripped off one of the engines. If it stayed attached coulda been a lot lot worse.

  • I love all these arm chair pilots...lol. Kudo's to the whole crew and passengers.

  • yup yup it does say idiot at 0:59

  • wow, he's soo calm if dat was me, i would have been a disaster

  • God brought that plane down safely and held it afloat so the passengers could deboard :o)

  • Comment removed

  • "God" had nothing to do with it you deluded idiot. Grow a brain.

  • crashishlaroche,

I do believe you are full of shit.

And the unmitigated gall you have to hurl insulting names at somebody who believes in God. I believe it's you that needs to grow a brain. Be ashamed. Be very ashamed.

  • youre a fucking idiot god had nothing to do with it. give credit to the pilot's skill.

  • YEa mate did god also send a flock of birds to fly into the engine just for a laugh? god lol. Come on if your so called "god" ,or any god for that matter, gave shit about them he would've stopped it from hitting the birds. AND PLEASE dont give me any bullshit like "god was testing the pilots faith by sending a flock of birds into both engines" cause i dont have time for that shit. Thank you.

  • G-d put the best pilot for the job in the pilot seat of that craft. Not a regular pilot, not a rookie, but THE pilot who like to fly gliders for sport. THAT's what G-d DOES, conceal himself in nature.

  • wht about the flock of birds? conceal himself in that?

If you knew anything you would understand that it was more to do with luck than skill. Landing a plane on water successfully is almost impossible. No amount of skill can prepare you for it.

Also the fact that one engine was completed ripped off made it possible.

.....Let me geuss... God did that too?

  • LOL - well I guess G-D just didn't have the time to put THE pilot in charge of that plane that crashed in Buffalo two weeks later. He did a pretty good job of "concealing" himself on that one. Thanks G-d!

  • You pathetic piece of shit.

You're so quick to steal credit from those who deserve it so you can give it to your imaginary friend. But when it comes time for you to give god credit for tape worms, trichinosis, malaria, brain tumors and small pox; where the hell are you hiding then?

  • Traffic controller said "idiot" to the pilot?! (0:59) Am i wrong or wright?

  • i heard that too... it says idiot

  • i dont think it was the controller but someone did say "idiot" or start to say "it is..."

  • yea when he said Runway four I think someone said "idiot"

  • he kept sayn 1529 lol

  • The pride of Danville Cali son!

  • That pilot rocks! So calm so cool, so collected. "Can't do it. We're gonna be in the Hudson."

  • the traffic controller isnt listening

  • we' might land in the hudson

  • Sorry, but Boeing is the Cadillac of the Skys, and don't tell me Airbus is a Mercedes; 'cause it is not.

Boeings are superior; and the Engines are US made engines in both so, a bird-strike is a bird-strike and both the Airbus and the 700s Boeings would have reacted engineering-wise with the same structural integrity-

Two things: Great Pilot; and the River was clear of Traffic. The Hudson is usually Bustling with Commuter Ferrys; Skill, Luck, Guardian Angels! Not the Make of the Aircraft-

  • Point made

  • Hero is a word that is so over used these days. Someone who falls asleep on duty in Iraq is NOT a hero.

    THIS guy IS . . . .

  • so calm..cool!

  • wow thats amazing he is so calm through the hole video amazing ..... lolz ..... cant do it where going to be in the hudson...lolz

  • GOD BLESS THESE AMERICAN HEROES!

Thank you Capt. Sully and to the entire crew for being brave and saving all of your passengers!!!

  • His comment deserved no disrespect. Sure, the plane had a lot to do with the safety of the passengers, but the pilot's bravery can still be admired. You're comment is impertinent, and there simply isn't a need to take away any kudos to the pilot.

  • Fan blades are fan blades!! Foreign object damage (FOD) is not controlled by the FADEC or the Pilot's controls. The Pilot landed this plane.....not the onboard computers. The Pilot's quick thinking and calm control in putting the aircraft into ditching mode enabled the aircraft to stay afloat longer.

After viewing the photos, the FADEC was ripped off the right engine (Left engine was missing). Maybe due to bird strike but more likely water landing.

Good job USAirways Captain and Crew!!

  • Are you Algeria or USA?

  • The FADEC is redundant (2 or 3 times) and not in the engine. The control lines are electric wires carrying signals instead of mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic. Loss of an engine may have broke some of them but there are back ups. My point was in an older aircraft those mech/hydro/pneumo lines would have caused a loss of control when all the fluid leaked out. Pilot did well but give the engineers some credit. I say this as one myself. If we do our jobs right no one cares. God help YOU if we fail.

  • You don't know what you are talking about-
