I imagine that this video was specifically produced to reach adults and young students alike, so keep that in mind when complaining about the tone and delivery of the narrator.
Astronomers hope to put the two pictured together 14:32 / it's all bullshit people, most of what they where showing you was artists renderings.? They don't show you the real thing ! You will live and die and never KNOW! A truth ! Look through there lies !
the narrator sounds SEXY and intelligent so stfu with the "blah blah i'm a loser bashing someone huhh huuh. yea thumbs up to those who agreee dudes huuh"
Yes, the announcer sounds like she's selling Thigh Masters or cheap jewellery on the shopping channel. Come to think of it, it sounds like the same person
Everyone wants to bash the fucking narrator, so fucking what if it was a woman everything she said was legitimate and relevant. Sounds like some people who watch this are not advanced enough in their thinking to watch an astronomy video to learn something, but wanna bitch about the narrator. If you wanna go there, the dude that was talking was annoying cuz he just rattled on in a very flat boring tone of voice, started to make me yawn. The contents of the video are what really matter.
I absolutely and categorically agree with all comments above and below. Was gonna pitch in with an opinion about the narrators voice but it looks like everyone else got there first. Ho Hum.
When I was 20 I knew intuitively that time is not part of space. It took me 32 years to understand rationally that according to mathematical formalism X4 = ict time is numerical order of photon motion in 4D space.
I normally don't make comments like this. But the narrator really needs to acknowledge her valium addiction and seek help for it. Can you imagine her and the SpaceRip video announcer as a couple?
@royalspin : "Just imagine the children they would have?"
I'm not so worried on that count. I just don't see her being able to accrete enough of his matter into her black hole fast enough to offset Hawking Radiation, if you know what I mean.
I was concerned at first. But hey. They got 3 pairs of cheap binoculars, a can opener, a blender, and one really cool Dalek Voice Modulator at the reception.
0:21 I want to puke when I hear the moronic, nauseating gee-whiz voice of the narrator... The Universe has (raise voice for effect) dazzled humanity for (listen to the way she animates, makes her voice quiver) all time.. It's like galactic-sized fingernails scratching across the blackboard of
of cosmic time/space.....OWWWWW I can't take it....
Current interpretations of astronomical observations indicate that the age of the Universe is 13.73 (± 0.12) billion years,[1] and that the diameter of the observable Universe is at least 93 billion light years, or 8.80 × 1026 metres. (It may seem paradoxical that two galaxies on opposite sides can be separated by 93 billion light years after only 13 billion years, since special relativity states that matter cannot be accelerated to exceed the speed of light in a localized region of space
Hey Solarcradle, the sun is never really where we are actually seeing it. It's always 500 seconds west to its apparent position. As a result id say we are always looking at a past sun...
I find it very difficult to get my head round this time travelling malarky. Viewing a distant galaxy means we are viewing it as it was some millions of years ago. Does this mean that we will never know how it looks 'right now'? Surely we can only look 'back' so far - is there a tipping point? A distance in time where we can't look back any further?
ANd how about the galaxies that are further out than our own from the theoretical big bang - do we see their past as well? Is there such a thing?
How can we say we are looking into the past if the stellar shows us 8 second intervals occurring in forms of real-time? For instance, our sun, moon & other orbital phases in connection with planet earth, drive the future weather within pre-existing systems. ie. the past. Whereas AGN, comets, asteroids etc., are the future for earth resources. Hydroxl, hydrocarbons, diatomic vacuums of space, connection/disconnection. The future is out there!
What? You look the distant Universe to see how galaxies were? So at the boundaries we should only find baby galaxies. But it is not. Incredible that I should call "scientist" that lady at 20:28. I'm happy I only wasted 5 minutes, jumping on the right spot.

Great little documentary, but it might have been better if the narrator didn't sound like the voiceover from a phone sex commercial.

"I find it very difficult to get my head round this time travelling malarky."
Relativity indeed allows for time travel. However, the future is the only possible destination .
"Surely we can only look 'back' so far - is there a tipping point?"
Yes. That would be the limits of the observable universe.
"how about the galaxies that are further out than our own from the theoretical big bang"
There is no such center...
