1) Apple designs their software to work with specific hardware. Who cares if you can't get your own stuff and just shove it into your Mac, that's not important to anyone except people who didn't buy the right thing the first place. This fact means that hardware problems are the rarest thing possible unless you purposely cause one.

2. Most, if not all, web browsers come with their own download managers, and certain other programs have built in download managers optimized for their purpose. For email, I just go to the provider's website and handle it from there. Everything I need to remember I save in documents. The only calender I need is accessible by left clicking the date/time area in the taskbar...

2) I didn't ask for programs that did those things, I asked for a set of programs that are all interconnected and can automatically update each other without any sort of disruption.

I know that it is the same hardware, but the operating system, instead of having to work with different combinations and brands of hardware like Windows does, only ever has to work with one, single combination of hardware. I'm not saying the hardware is different, I'm saying it's the software that has to run on the hardware is much better as it is designed for one and only one combination.

Well, you are sorta right. It is impractical to fully test the security of a program. Because of that, IT evaluates the security of a program by the number of flaws that have been exploited.

I'm not sure of the flaws Mac has (I never cared looking for them =p), but there are some people who have pointed many security holes. Anyway, since Mac flaws haven't been exploited, it is considered secure. In practice it is.

I worked on a helpdesk for a while & this is just my opion from that, Both systems fail sometimes. Mac's are great untill they go wrong it can be hard to fix a mac. Pc's on the other hand have a large base of support so are usually quick to fix. stay on top of your maintence, patches virus definitions and you shouldn't have problem & make a back up's of important stuff. That goes for both mac and pc. btw mac overprices.

yeah, i agree with ya there. i have the same programs, but ad-aware usually cleans them up for me anyways.

still, apple is relying on viruses alone to convert pc users. that's all they have as far as i can tell.
