I was at this game, we drove from Erie, Pa to be there. I was 12 years old at the time and it was one of the most amazing events in my life. It was a huge surprise to watch the team warm up in the blue jerseys and then later come out of the Trojan Horse and on to the field wearing the green jerseys!

I was at that game, too (ND class of 1978). I remember the trojan horse being towed around the field. Anybody know whatever happened to the horse? Who were the guys in togas towing it? Did it just end up in a scrap heap somewhere? Thanks! BOB

BOB, I was there too. After the game, we were making plans for the evening in my brother's room at Alumni Hall when the face of the horse was knocking on the 2nd floor window. Another brother who was up for the game visiting had found the horse outside the stadium. He towed it to Alumni. We raced with it and in it along the South Quad. Campus security finally caught up with us and shouted "Stop horsing around with that ... horse". We fled.

I was at this game. I sat in the first row with my feet on the field and the tunnel was to my left. I was 14 at the time and I will never forget that experience. Notre Dame will some day become a national power - too much history not to. GO IRISH!!!!!

The reason that the game is played earlier in the season at South Bend is because the weather sucks in South Bend, in fact in the entire state of Indiana. In fact, the entire state of Indiana sucks, period. But we in Southern California no longer care because Notre Dame is no longer capable of playing big time football.

I was there. I was a freshman in the USC Marching Band.

Everyone was in shock because of the green uniforms, which had not been worn for over 20 years (I think).

I think it was ironic that you hear the USC Band playing "Conquest" while the toga frat-rats were wheeling out the Trojan Horse, and the "Greenies" hit the field.

I do not remember the final score, but I remember we won.

The fans that year at Notre Dame were just AWESOME. In basketball they played #1 U of San Francisco that year and the crowd won the MVP of the game. This game and season was really special for the Notre Dame family!
