When i lived in Qatar i didn't know what car insurance was or how much per ltr gas could be, untill i went back to north america. Where i payed $500 for a garbage 1989 accord because i was young, and if i got a speeding ticket that would be like 700 a month. Gas prices are so much i spend $120 a week on a 4cly car.

When i lived in Qatar i didn't know what car insurance was or how much per ltr gas could be, untill i went back to north america. Where i payed $500 for a garbage 1989 accord because i was young, and if i got a speeding ticket that would be like 700 a month. Gas prices are so much i spend $120 a week on a 4cly car.
and its 0.20 in Qatar.lol im going back there.

The citizens are given everything and treated better than any country I have ever seen. Qatar is beautiful, safe and progressive.

My favorite GCC countries is Qatar because of it appears to me they always to try resolve any issues.
I came from a poorest countries in Arab world, I am not jealousy for their wealth but I will encourage them to share and subsidize for their brother and sister who don't have an oil. As you aware all European rich governments have shared their wealth with poor ones.

R&D takes time, you have to have the human asset(engineers, scientists, etc) before you can actually start R&D. There are less than 160,000 Qataris. It's impossible to be self- sufficient in human resources. They just don't have enough people to do everything. Vast majory of the population is young and under 30. So they are still learning. They DID use their money to develop their countries.Their population is very small and it's impossible to have ALL expertise in EVERY field available locally.They didn't have mass immigration of skilled workers like some countries did and they didn't give citizenship to foreigners.A lot of doctors, professors,engineers,and scientists in the west are naturalized Arab immigrants that immigrated due to economic hardships. So the west ALSO benefited from Arab minds.

That's not true. Not all Arabs have oil and those that have it managed to educate their people, build their infrastructor, and enjoy high standards of living. Nigeria is oil rich too, yet, most people there are poor and they have a long way to catch up with Qatar or Dubai.

Nigeria isn't poor. They have more oil than Qatar. What did they do with their oil wealth?You can't compare Qatar with the west because it's MUCH younger. So they import expertise and they LEARN too. I'm not aware of any research at schools there, but here in the US, at school, most professors and researchers were Asians, Indians and some arabs. Most people at motorola research labs aren't americans.

It's not the same. Israel didn't start from Zero like Qatar. There was mass immigration to Israel. Those people were already adults and skilled when they immigrated. They had doctors, engineers, scientists..etc from many countries and spoke different languages then they became Israelis. Any Jew can beome Israeli. Nobody can become Qatari. Otherwise, Qatar can take credit for foreign research after they give the researchers qatari nationality.

I'm not angry; however, I don't see your point! Is Canada 100% self-sufficient? Can they produce EVERYTHING locally? The answer is No. Canada relies on other countries too. Most of its population is immigrants as well. That's why there is inernational trade. Everybody gets what they need from wherever they make it and in the process, they LEARN the technology. Saudi Arabia has 100% control of their oil operations. They drill their own wells by the way.
